Inspired by another thread...go figure.
How about a few rare missions where your character is temporarily made very huge or very small by some mechanism in the story, like the ubiquitous "Shrink Ray", or "Super-growth Tablet" or whatever...
- Fighting a gigantic monster in a model of the City where the buildings only come up to your shoulders
- Full on team fights where the battle field is an enormous desk top with a computer monitor looming in the background
- "Fantastic Voyage" homage, shrunk down to enter a body to save someone's life
- Defending a vital mechanism from hordes of nano-machines
- Maybe the character themselves don't change size but have to pilot a 30' robot?
Some of these might work better as solo missions, and I know we're trying to shy away from that. I also recognize some specifically generated content might be necessary, but some of it might be accomplished by just scaling existing models. In any case, I'm just throwing some stuff out for the Devs that might generate some ideas and variety. I know there are more ideas out there...
Not workable. Shrinking is easy, but UNshrinking you afterward would require some sort of RE-bigulator, which is a concept so outrageous it makes me want to laugh out loud and chortle. N'hey.

You could scale the 'mission' and leave the character at normal size?

whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster and when you look into the abyss, the abyss also look into you, -Friedrich

No, most everybody is fine with solo play or team play. Whatever you want. That's kind of the point. There's been a lot of discussion about not designing missions that are strictly one or the other. I also freely admit that this is just my take on the consensus.
