Toggle AoE Powers and Inspirations coming back?

Every single AT had access to Toggle AoEs whether they were Player or Target Bound.. Taunt auras for Brutes / Tanks were accessible in every Primary or Secondary power-set, Scrappers and even Stalkers had a few in their power-sets.. Controllers / Corruptors had one or more in multiple power-sets, Blasters / Dominators.. Blasters had them in most offensive power-sets while Dominators had to wait for their Ancillary powers, Heroes / Villains Epic ATs all had access to them.. My question is this, will those types of powers be making a return? Will we be able to stealth our entire group(Including their pets!!) with some form of Steamy Mist or Shadow Fall? Will the damage takers be able to gather multiple groups and maintain that aggro without having to spam "taunt" skills?

Next I'd like to poke about Inspirations, I really hope some form of this will be coming with us to your new city! I can't think of any negative impact this system had on the game at any point. In fact it really just enhanced the fun and play ability of the game overall! Insps. allowed smaller groups to take on stronger challenges in the open world. Coordinated groups to push through difficult challenges without having to change their ATs. Made that awesome Blaster / Corruptor Nova even more epic when they popped 7 T-3 Reds just before wiping an entire group xD. Allowed you to avoid having to rez at the hospital or sometimes.. the beginning of the zone... when badge hunting in certain "Hazardous" areas..*cough* Terra Volta... Also they provided mez resist when your group didn't necessarily have any so you and your friends weren't stuck having to wait for someone to come help and allowed for those groups of people to feel like they could run any AT with their friends. The "combine 3-->1 of your choosing" system that came later was very.. very NICE as well! :D

Again thank you for everyone's time!!

I would suggest you read up

I would suggest you read up on our past updates as they cover the topics of various ways our classifications operate through a system called Mastery Powers. Mastery powers replace the old game's inherent abilities. These define how a particular classification performs its role. Our Stalwarts who are the tank equivalent have a Mastery which functions on gaining attention of foes through use of powers.

Inspirations are not returning in the same manner as the system was designed in the old game. We've taken the base concept or you could say we were inspired by it and came up with Reserves. Our update on Momentum touches upon Reserves as momentum is related to it.
Basically as you are in combat you build a Momentum. When out of combat Momentum naturally decays and fills Reserves. You can use a reserves while in combat to improve performance defensively, offensively, break free from controls, regain lost health, energy, or return from defeat.

With regards to your inquiry on toggle powers in general, yes we will be using the toggle mechanic and many ores both familiar from the old game and new. The goal of our gameplay is to be both familiar to Cityof, while improving upon areas we've identified as either had not worked well, caused too many performance issues (and required a lot of work-a rounds to resolve), while also adding some new elements to freshen up the feel of the game.

Thanks a bunch for the response!! Both of those articles were very very informative and exciting! Mastery Powers sounds very well thought out and the ability to choose more than one of them as you progress is great, the combinations will help create really unique characters with the different power-sets.

With the Momentum system, as it decays will it give a random "Reserves-Clickie" based upon the % the bar was filled during the fight?
Example: The fight filled the bar between 33% and 66%, this grants 1 Tier one RANDOM Reserves (Acc , Dmg Increase / End +% / BreakFree / Heal +% / Def +% / Resistance+% / Revive %)
Another fight filled the bar between 66-99% and grants 1 Tier two Reserves / With another filling 66-100% granting a Tier three?

Reserves aren't random and is designed to be flexible for the player to determine what they want to prioritize.

Alrighty, will they be clickies usable both in and out of combat? Or options that popup mid screen after combat is over while the bar depreciates?

Reserves don't deplete until

Reserves don't deplete until used, and used upon activation which is agnostic to combat status.

So the Momentum bar will

So the Momentum bar will depreciate and reset back to 0 after combat but the Reserves gained with the Momentum will still stay until manually activated... think I got it right.
Will you be able to store multiple of the same reserve? IE: T-1 is a %Accuracy booster for x-time, would I be able to store more than one of those and be able to use more than one per battle?

Thus far the plan is you can

Thus far the plan is you can activate as many Reserves you have available at any time. I can't get into specifics as to types and quantities thereof, but if you have them you can use them.

Awesome! Last question about it for now... promise! Will we be able to trigger them independently from one another and out of the order in which we received them? T-5/1/4/3/2? Or would triggering the highest tier cause us to use them all (kinda like reverse using the bar)?

I prefer "Mom/Res" myself. Makes things slightly more intuitive.

I hope to be corrected, if needed, but my understanding is that Reserves don't have a 'tier' or an order. They're a continuum, or a pool. And they must be 'earned' or built-up, rather than purchased, as they are an intrinsic part of the character. Right?

As for Reserves, I think the

As for Reserves, I think the actual system isn't set in stone yet (?) but if it works like I believe it will, having read the updates, I think you can make the comparison between using Reserves in CoT and flushing coolant in Mechwarrior. Reserves are not discrete objects (like Insps were) but rather a "fluid" that is tracked by a bar which fills up when Momentum naturally goes away and which you can use to any number of different effects, based on what you want at the time. So the way I see it, you get in a fight, you build momentum, then after it's over your momentum tapers off and your Reserves bar goes up a little. Then, when you're in the next fight, you rebuild momentum, but then you can also press a key (maybe a function key) to use Reserves. Maybe F1 spends some Reserves on increasing damage, maybe F2 uses Reserves to increase Damage Resistance, maybe F3 heals you, etc.

That might not be EXACTLY how it works, but that's my interpretation from what I've seen and heard.

Edit: I also like MoRe, as long as we agree it's pronounced "Moe-Ray"....:)

That's about how I imagined it would work. Rather than having a slew of Inspiration slots we'd need just the one bar of "pills" and rather than the "pill" being consumed when clicked, it consumes a certain amount of Reserves. In terms of tiers, I've wondered if we will have something like the variable size of Inspirations, so that we can choose to use a "small" for 10% healing or a "large" for 25% healing.

I was assuming it rhymed with 'lore' (I can see the ads: "You get MoRe with City of Titans!") but with that song in my head I can go for this pronunciation. Strangely, now I have "Extra aggro is what you get when you team with Fusionette" stuck in my head.

Either way, I'm with Fez and the others on MoRe.

Spurn all ye kindle.
