The first time CoH did this (freem!) I bought it. After that it was fun to see what trick they'd play each April. Thanks for upholding the tradition except you needn't give it away with the last sentence. The fun was seeing how many commentors took it serious until reminded of the date.

You know, reading this announcement, it sounds like it implies this David person killed all of the other founders, seized control of the company, sold it, and then took all of the money and fled to the Rogue isles.
I resent the implication, since it gives the impression of a rank amateur. The more co-founders you kill, the harder it would be to find anyone willing to go into business with you. I would certainly never do such a thing!
It is only when we stand up, with all our failings and sufferings, and try to support others rather than withdraw into ourselves, that we can fully live the life of community.

I didn't like them killing him off, but I couldn't say he was my favorite and I HATED the mask.

Richard Garriott created the [i]Ultima[/i] series of games, and his alter ego within those games is a character named "Lord British."
Later, when he headed up [i]Tabula Rasa[/i] his alter ego was "General British," fitting with the game's modern/near-future military setting.
So if he took over [i]City of Titans[/i], his alter ego could well be "Britishman," though my money would be on "Doc British," a hero reminiscent of Doc Savage.

Well. This thread certainly went interesting and somewhat dark places. I'm afraid we had to prune it back till it was actually on topic again.
I'd also like to take this moment to apologize for our unprofessionalism. I know I said things I certainly should not have, as project lead, because when I post here, I am posting with the weight of the project behind me.
I value you guys, each and every one of you, and I'm proud you've chosen to stick with us on our journey. It's going to be a long one, but we will make it through.
Keep fighting, all of you, and remember, sometimes it's better to think twice about what you want to say, no matter how tempting it is. I think I'm going to try to apply those words to myself for a while.

We want to emphasize that it was not the subject of the thread that prompted this course of action. We are a company born from the collective creativity of our community, and we have not forgotten the value of listening.
Unfortunately this particular example just strayed too far into darker and less productive territory. There were many participants who were truly trying to debate and discuss but the actions of a few ultimately led this thread astray, to the point that we felt it best to put an end to it.
We are sure everyone involved had the best of intentions, and hope the discussion can be held again someday in a more productive fashion.
