I got all the T-shirts I was expecting (from both the KS and the later T-shirt offers) several months ago. Not sure if any of the other KS items (like the lanyards or mouse pads) have shipped yet.

Not yet, as I understand it. I think only the T-shirts have shipped thus far.
The physical items are being handled by the Bolacks, who had an unexpected interruption when their newborn decided on arriving.... several months early. Many of them are being custom-stitched, so it is not as if we can just hand it over to someone else either, so we are letting them get their lives back in to schedule.
You can keep track of the newest Bolack as he proves himself quite the fighter despite his delivery at 24 weeks, here.

Have you let the backers know the state of play of this via a kickstarter update, instead of just posting it on these forums, where it shall surely get easily lost?
*edit* I am saying keep people up to date. Sure you might have let people know back in November (of whenever it was last year) but since then it has been quiet. It would be *appropriate* to let people know "We haven't forgotten about you and what we need to deliver" instead of what appears to be a case of "lets hope that no one asks, or if they do, one of the forumites will answer it in our stead".
TheYetee keep me posted as to when I should be expecting my items from an event back at the start of January.
Since then I have received 2 separate emails with delivery details and expected delivery times.
Current state of things, in order from the top of my head:
The Anthem shirts went in last week, awaiting a proof to confirm ( Yes, not a KS reward )
The Lanyard art is getting final tweaks
We're selecting finalists for the mouspad vote
The Badge pattern is just shy of finalized after which we should be able to start getting those going.
The Moguls are in process - you've seen some of the work in art updates and we will continue to do so.
We haven't completely dropped the ball but it is a poorly executed juggling act. - communication included. We have to be better.
I also have only received the shirts(which are amazing by the way!). Although it was not stated in the KS updates, it was quite an easy task to find this post and get a good update. Thanks @Shard, @Doctor_Tyche for the updates and keep up the good work :)

The lanyards and the hats are getting ready to go out (a few already have). Still working on getting the other stuff. Email may have sounded too optimistic about the mini-capes, sorry.
At this point am spending most of the effort confirming mailing addresses.

I'm one of those who ordered a physical badge. Heard from and responded about it back in Jan but have heard nothing since.
Reality is what I make it
The person we contracted the badge out too had issues (the machine broke) and now he's redoing it with a different mix of cloth/stitching as the original model. Hopefully soon.

So over the years it's been pretty hard to keep track of whats what, I have a couple of MWM T-shirts but I can't remember whether they were physical rewards or I bought them outright is there a way to tell on the forums or will I have to deep dive my emails....

If they were Kickstarter rewards, they should actually be on the kickstarter site listed as your backer level. Otherwise they were likely separate purchases.

Did the capes ever go out? I've recently been returned to the project with the announcement of the Avatar Builder, and my reward tier included a physical cape. Any news about that? I'm also asking because since the Kickstarter completed I have moved to a new address. So I just need to make sure it goes to the correct address.
The cape was an add-on, not a tier. Did you get that add-on?

If you want to make sure, email contact@missingworldsmedia.com and they can forward it to the people handling the remaining physical add ons. No, capes have not gone out. Our plan is to ship out the remaining physical add ons at once, so as to save on shipping costs.
