Super Group forums!

It would be awesome if supergroups could have their own sub-forums, visible only to group members. It could even be a premium/pay feature. Having a private place to plan group events would be awesome.

That would be a neat feature

That would be a neat feature if you could cross-link it to a widget inside the SG base in the game too, so like you could click on your SG's supercomputer or scrying orb when in the base and it would bring up the current state of the SG forum.

That would require MWM to

That would require MWM to take responsibility for the Content of SG Forums... Better if each SG hosted their own. MWM might craft a Supergroup Site template of content, a site development kit, to make available to interested parties.

Having in-game access to the SG website would be quite nice, though. And a Wiki and Maps and maybe a Character-tracker... Heck the whole Titan Network suite.

Be Well!

I don't think MWM sponsored

I don't think MWM sponsored sites would be practical. It would necessarily be less creative for the groups (MWM would be responsible so the guidelines would be much stricter than doing it on your own) not to mention an added expense on top of the game. Not sure how feasible a link would be, but it sounds possible at least.

I think there's some

I think there's some confusion here.

I'm not talking about creating a website for each super-group. I'm talking a bout a sub-forum. The forums are currently divided into News and Organization, Development, etc. And inside each of those categories, is forum. For example, News and Organization has announcements, Kickstarter Discussion, etc.

My suggestion is to have "supergroup" as a category, and inside it would be (if you subscribed, paid, whatever) a forum for your group. The only people allowed in would likewise have to be from your group.

I know at one time many years ago, either IGN or Gamestop had this option as part of their premium package.

I must say I foresee a problem with requiring a payment. No doubt MWM SG forums would be cool, but it would be a hard sell in view of free 3rd party services. Plus it would require attention from moderators as well, and I don't see enough folks paying to justify an extra moderator for the forums.

I hate coming down on the idea, but I don't see it as practical.

3rd party forums require

3rd party forums require setup and configuration. I think you're underestimating people's desire for simplicity, not to mention their aversion to having to add yet another website or community to their list of places to regularly go to, complete with another account, and another account password. It's extremely simple for MWM to add a sub-forum for an SG, while the average user's aversion to the process of setting up something new is something that should not be underestimated. Trust me.

As for the moderator, it doesn't have to be actively monitored. You put up a disclaimer, you add terms. The rules are simple; no different from most sites that offer "private" message forum/group services: SG leadership has mod power over their own group's forum. The forum is not actively watched by MWM, but a moderator can be called in by request, and violations of global forum rules (harassment, hate-speech etc.) are still subject to the usual consequences including, but not limited to, suspension and/or perma-bans from all MWM forums.

Given the number of third

Given the number of third-party sites that cater to this specific need (Guild Portal, Shivtr, GuildLaunch, GamerLaunch, GuildHosting, Guildomatic, etc), I don't see any need for CoT to reinvent the wheel.
Besides, given the sheer number of SGs that are likely to exist, the CoT forums would be 99% SG sub-forums, most of which would be inactive. (Assuming automatic creation. If creation must be requested, that would diminish the number significantly and activity rates would be higher.)

I'd be happy if you allow for

I'd be happy if you allow for Supergroup affiliation (and even Faction affiliation) to be in the bio of the character
