How will you spend your first day playing City of Titans? Surely each of us has a magnificent vision of what we'll do when we fire up the game for the very first time. I know I do.
My first day will go something like this...
>Have the day off work
>Spend at least an hour in the character creator
>Cry tears of joy once I see the city
>Get a mission
>Ignore the mission and beat up baddies in the street instead
>Randomly run and jump all over the place
>exploreallthethings.jpg
>Go complete the mission
>Find a team
>Run missions with said team
>Play for 10 more hours
>Sleep
No major ambitions for me. How about you? What will you do right out of the gate?
My list will probably be very similar except by then we should have all had plenty of quality time with the character creator.
I'm hoping I'll have plenty of costumes already saved so I can jump straight in.
"I don't think you understand the gravity of your situation."
Yeah I would be coming down with the Titan Flu on that day for sure. One thing I be doing I really wish I did more of in COH. SCREEN SHOTS! Pug my main man Rotten Luck. Party in the Naughty Corner. Then later that night when I be spinning Alts to explore the missions. Maybe day two have a relapse of that flu.

I would like to see a Chat Log entry after you press Print Screen.. showing the Screenshots location like:
"../../ScreenCap_2014-12-19_04-20-11"
;)
Aside from character generation consuming most of the first day, I'll be madly pursuing thecquickest path to flight. I want to see it all from above. I miss that.
Since I'm using a Kickstarter Uniform it'll be just face/hair, body type, and powers then log in to to Map Server as far as character creation goes. Hell that'll all likely be done in the character creator release.
Taking a week off to game with friends. Gonna announce a SG "Log In" time so we can all start and level together when their characters and costumes should be complete by and then taking things slow (actually reading all the mission text) through the content with no real rush to get there "first" but to get there together and with the most game integration as possible
Crowd Control Enthusiast
Take the day off work.
Dither about who to play first.
Create character, loading the costume I made in the stand-alone costume creator.
Spend at least an hour in the tutorial, exploring every nook and cranny.
Go into the main zone.
Talk to every NPC that allows it, pick up missions.
Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls.
Repeat with more characters.
Fire up the closest thing to a scrapper and hit the streets looking for that scrapperlock feel.

The very existence of the taunting tank irritates, for it requires idiotic AI that obeys the taunt.

Am I a pooper if I say I imagine spending launch day staring at an endlessly spinning load icon followed by a cycle of login errors?
...That's what my experience has been in the past with games that were considered Triple-A titles.
But after doing that for however-many-hours that takes, I think Plex's list nails it for me too, haha
Cake or death?
I'll have the chicken.
Between betas and I would hope headstart for kickstarters to get their names for their "mains" hopefully... well at least the first of many many alts hehe... I think many of us will have helped to iron out many of the bugs pre release as I think we as a gaming community are more passionate than most, as although I have found some nice guilds in other games, I have only ever found one overall great community, and thats CoH, where everyone helped everyone and there was hardly any muppets around.
Apart from that, It really will be work dependent, so I know that I will be on as much as I can and the first weekend I will be living out of my nutribullet, moments to prep, moments to clean and loads of good nutrition to keep me going hehe.
If I am in my current job, I will be working guaranteed.
I'd be making the alts I really want to, probably establishing in game SG stuff, play however long it takes for me to get to a point where I need to think about my build and then get distracted with building or finding the perfect place for my SG base, then probably go back to beating things after fixing my build and realizing I can only a afford a couch... I definitely want to group, miss grouping in CoH...
I think the chat channels day one are more likely to crash. "Lvl 7 Brigadier(Heat/Whatever) LFG!) Hopefully though first day won't be all PUGS, but meeting new people on an RP server day one, that would be fun, sometimes I loved RPing in the mission, I was never in a rush to level, just play and enjoy it, sometimes it was scenery or visuals.
Gotta team with Rotten and Foradain, bunch of others, seriously, can't want to.
1.make something like martial arts scrapper,
2. look at all martial arts animations.
3. use said animations on enemies happily with most aggressive music mix possible laying in background.
4. remember to make my standard scondary character who is a team focused healer type character...my "seraph blue' that i tend to make.
5. spend the rest of the day in costume creator lifeboating my characters from co to here.
there will be fancy.
Looking forward to beating up bad guys with you, too!
Among many others. ^_^

I'd already have spent the year before mulling over the avatar builder to build the ultimate character, so I would probably spend 15 minutes tops in the creator before I jump in, have an eyegasm at the city lights, and then immediately default to what I do in every good video game...

0) *Request vacation time for the week of release!*
1) Quickly Claims the 5-8 names I want to be mine ((Assuming names are on first-come, first-serve basis)).
2) Set up OBS and start a stream of the game.
3) Load in the saved costume I'd labored on for weeks from the standalone character creator onto a real character.
4) Find RottenLuck
5) Immediately /duel, or arena Rotten Luck and try to secure the first ever PVP encounter. ((As level 1 or 2's xD)) And save the footage for youtube later on.
6) Make Cosplay characters with names hinting at their cosplay nature, but never using the character's actual names. ((Doppelganger, Masquerade, etc.))
7) Praise the sun...
8) Remember to eat/have microwavable foods ready for the next week
9) Join a sewers team
10) Join another sewers teams
11) Form a sewers team
12) Join a sewers team
13) Wander into a Hazard zone, join a "Not-frostfire" team.
14) Host a costume contest for all the money I have
15) Climb on top of something ridiculously tall without use of flight
16) Find a gamebreaking bug and report it, but then totally exploit it before it gets patched
17) Riding on cars!
18) Finally remember to promote City of Titans on social media, and spread the word.
19) caffeine
20) Sewers team...
Something like that I think =p
Stalkers don't die: They simply... Disappear.
Wait... Which sewer are you going in? :{
I'm going to this one. ;D

Well, I got room for 5 different sewers, so maybe I'll give that one a go ;3 Maybe hit up the one with the mutant amphibians, and then go back to the classic "zombie sewer" to finish up.
Stalkers don't die: They simply... Disappear.
A lot will depend on what happens between now and then. If we get, say 8 slots each and 5 starting ATs that's at least one of each. I'll try to recreate some of my favorite characters for sure but I also want to do at least one totally new character. I can get into a rut pretty easily so I have to break out of my comfort zone once in a while.
Recreating old friends will be cool but I really want to press the envelope. I also want to hook up with people during Beta to establish friendships early.
And yes, since we get week's early play (IIRC) I'll likely be taking that week off from life.
I remember when Star Wars was cool...a long, long time ago...
If you're one of the over four thousand who pledged Home Sweet Home or better, I'm not sure that it's a full week.

Ah...weekend not week. Good...I'd never be able to stay up for a whole week
I remember when Star Wars was cool...a long, long time ago...
I'm still upset that I missed out on the Kickstarter donations, especially since I didn't even find out about CoT until 2014. Is it still possible to donate and get goodies, or is it way past too late?
Also Happy New Years.

Every time it comes up, the Devs say that they don't want to ask for more money until they have something to show, like the Avatar Builder. That way it won't look like they're just trying to pad the budget.
So maybe, possibly, you'll get your chance. Stay tooned!
And, Happy New Years to you, as well!

For me, I'll be spending day one quietly perched in a spot where I can watch all of you experience the goodies we've spent all this time setting up.
It's no fun being a toymaker if nobody plays with the toys...
Wait until you see the... nope, that would ruin the surprise.
Being who and what I am in regards to this project, my plans for Day One are very simple:
Watch all the blinking lights turn on, and fight the urge to see what happens if I flip random ones off. :)
I kid. I'd be out and about with a Dev Character, hiding somewhere in the city and bestowing random things on the people who can find me and correctly answer my questions.
Not all of these random things would be beneficial. :D
Also Kidding.
I'll figure out my plans a week before they happen, and no sooner.

Apparently I'll be running about trying to find JWBullfrog and Terwyn!
What sort of topics should we be studying to prepare?
Spurn all ye kindle.
Spend time in the character creator. If I feel it's like CoH, then cheer in joy. If I feel it's more like CO or DCUO...cry!
Totally taking the day off either way, because that's what I have vacation days for! :p To use when I want for whatever I want! \o/
It is amazing how off-the-mark CO and DCUO are, isn't it? And they both had some good ideas: Nemesis system, High-speed flight, in some cases absolutely genius mission designs, etc. But overall they just made too many bad decisions on a fundamental level.
Again, I don't think this is a danger, though. CoT is VERY self-consciously building the next logical step based on the example and foundation set by CoH. That just bodes very well for the game.
Also, Warcabit has said repeatedly that the final goal is FUN, not some philosophical game-design stance or revolutionary next-new-thing mechanic. Just loads of uproarious Super-powered fun.
That's all just damn exciting.
And I've been reading up on UE4 too. Everything I've read has made me more happy that MWM decided to take the risk. It's just going to be a HUGE advantage having this engine and all of it's ongoing development and resources.
And, oh, btw. Day off with the wife. Have my son take time off and come visit. One account and computer each. Old times again. Prolly should take the next day off too, come to think of it. Won't sleep much :D.
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
I can't remember which server it was, you weren't one of those guys that hung out in RCMP uniforms and gave out gifts to people who could correctly answer questions about Canada were you ?

DCUO was sadly the biggest disappointment. :( Limited costume at start, limited character looks, like they wanted to avoid it looking like a comic book, and no defense powers the like of Invunerability, Super Reflexes. Character forced into using powers that just didn't work with the concept.
It did some things right though! I did like that we had to get some costumes from drops, but that should almost never be weapon skins, especially ones such as escrima sticks.
That was an MMO I had high hopes for. After all, it was the MMO to be playing with those we've seen in comics, cartoons, movies! Sadly, it just failed. :(
I cannot confirm or deny this, as while it is something that sounds like I would be involved, I can neither recall correctly if I actually was involved, or if I merely knew the persons responsible.
It is only when we stand up, with all our failings and sufferings, and try to support others rather than withdraw into ourselves, that we can fully live the life of community.

Day one will require a day off work and the creation of a Stalwart Bulwark.
I do a DnD Podcast, which can be listened to here.
Additionally, I write up my sessions of a Teen Heroes game here.
Ok sarcasto. Based on previous games, I will get home, struggle to create an account and buy the game online, wondering if they've heard of usability testing, and puzzled that they don't seem to care somebody wants to heave money at them.
Then I will download the installer and start it, seeing hours of gigabytes ahead. With any luck I will briefly log in and create a character and run around at 2 am, then go to bed and be exhausted at work the next day.
Oh wait, I forgot about the login queues on many games, rather than spawning 127 Atlas Park instances. Well, slide in another 3 hours somewhere. Ok, game is installed at 12:30 AM, get in 3 hour login queue, fall asleep, wake up before work, was kicked out of queue for not actually logging in, log in again, half hour wait, take shower, create char, log in and run around for 10 minutes, then go to work.
Based on past experience, that is.
