Brief Backstory: Gail received her powers in utero, when her mother was exposed to a super soldier treatment. Once her mother found out she was pregnant, she went on the run from . Eventually Gail was born and left at the door of a local church. She was adopted by Charles and Linda Gordon. Linda passed away when Gail was 4, leaving Charles to raise his adopted daughter alone for a time. He later met James Kent, who became his partner. A few years later, when Gail was in junior high school, the two of them moved in with James and his daughter Dana. She and Dana became friends quickly, and over the years became each others best friend and confidante. Charles and James went on to legally marry in 2012.
Gail became aware of her powers when she hit puberty, which led to a fledgling hero career during her teen years. Her unerring curiousity, coupled with a hell of a lot of tenacity, found her doing investigative work around her hometown. By the time she and her stepsister had graduated from high school, she'd decided that she wanted to become a private investigator and hero work. For awhile it was rough going, trying to juggle college with hero work. It helped that her roommate Padma Pranav was a metahuman, a technopath. It gave her someone she could confide in while away from her stepsister.
Once Gail got her license, she approached Padma and Dana about going into business together. Padma, who came from a wealthy family, put up the money to lease office space in Gail's hometown. While the PI life was anything but glamourous, that and doing occasional work for local bondsmen kept the business afloat. It was eventually decided that if the business were to expand, a move was necessary. After much deliberation, the three of them picked up and moved to Titan City.

Brief Backstory: Dana's mom and dad split not long after she was born, and thus she was raised in a single parent home. While her dad's work as a naturopath practitioner wasn't exactly lucrative, it was enough to provide for the tiny family. Eventually he met Charles Gordon, and a few years later Charles and his daughter Gail moved in with them. Dana grew up living with and working with magic as if it were absolutely normal. James served as her mentor in her formative years, but as her skills grew, she began taking lessons from her great aunt Edna, a crone who had much wisdom to impart.
It didn't dawn on Dana that she could use her abilities for hero work until she met Gail. While she was not as into crime fighting as her stepsister, she did share in Gail's love of helping people. She found herself eagerly going along with Gail as she did investigative work, sometimes using her background in magic to help. It seemed like it would be natural for her to want to go along with Gail in becoming a PI. Instead, she decided she wanted to make a go at a singing career on the West Coast.
Dana spent a few years in California, trying to make her break. Her musical career never did take off. While most folks would've become bitter over the experience, Dana took it as a life lesson. She moved back to Arkham when she found out her sister was opening a business there. She opted to join on as Gail's assistant, keeping things organized at the office and on occasion dipping a toe into the investigations her stepsister was working on. She befriended Gail's college roommate, Padma, and the trio managed to keep the business afloat.
When Padma suggested that a move to Titan City would be a good idea, Dana supported it. She decided from day one that she would put every effort into making the business thrive and find her place in her new home.

And of course, I end up getting an entirely different idea for these characters. I'll be going back to edit to fit the changes when I get around to it.
Welcome fellow lurker? :)
I really like these two!
The muscle mimicry would be a very very hard power set to work out, though perhaps a melee set with lots of stuns? I dunno, that's very tricky one to place.
The bardic powers seem a bit easier since there's likely to be some sound based animations and with the feature of getting to add extra effects to a power set, you could have them deafen, or what have you.
If you're an RPer, which could be wrong, feel free to check out The Wanderers, who are based in Ironport, or James Duncan High School, these two might mesh well with either group. Or you could start something new!
I eeended up aging these two a bit, so they're out of the age range for the teen scene. It started bugging me like...a week after I'd made this post, sorta screaming at me to go the PI/Hero angle. xD Definitely an RP'er, but as for groups, I'm kinda waiting till I get my toes a bit more into the forum RP going on and get a good sense of my characters.
Deeefinitely will be using some sort of melee powerset for Honey Badger. I mean she screams melee butt kickery.
That's understandable, aging them up a bit. Well regardless of their age range, Wanderers woulds till welcome run ins with, well anyone. (Even villains!)
The Private Investigator idea does sound pretty good for a pair like this. I dove right into 'groups' it cause I missed my super groups, hope you're having fun so far. :) We're all very nice and welcomin, can't wait to see the update you've planned for them.
(maybe) That's it, you're on Keter Duty.
whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster and when you look into the abyss, the abyss also look into you, -Friedrich

OKay....updated the original post with updated info. Another bio will be going in as well, probably sometime tomorrow.
Let me guess: Padma?

You would be correct! Still working out a bit of Ad hoc's background, and just having 'well to do technopath' didn't seem to be enough to post about Padma. xD
Sooo many Technopaths! The wealthy ones are quite common, though it's rare to hear of a female technopath, again awesome! If you want some inspiration for good female technopaths with waaay to much resources at their disposal, I suggest checking out Wen Spencers Elfhome novels. Tinker is amazing.
Edit: Technopath may be stretching her capacities, but it borders sometimes on intuitive technological and mechanical understanding.
For once it's the powers that I have pretty much figured out, though what I'll use to show them ingame will remain to be seen once there's a launch. It's all the other good bits that make up the character that I"m working on.
The way you describe Tinker, that's actually a bit of the bent I was aiming for with Ad hoc, but most of my inspiration for her abilities comes from Micah Sanders from Heroes. Essentially, she's a walking WI-FI hotspot picking up on the frequencies of technology all around her, coupled with this almost sixth sense about how a mechanical thing works and the ability to make them function.
There has been another female technopath in our RP, one of DJ Kaos' characters, IIRC. (Goes to look it up.)

I'm just saying I never encountered them, I like geeky characters.
As for Tinker, she's really more of a technological genius who has genetic predisposition towards inovation, she wants to break things so she can fix them, and fix things that someone else broke. It's more the personality and things like that I was suggesting, still worth the read.
