Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

We already saw some animation

We already saw some animation, buildings models, and some graphic flair with fireworks. Personally I think they have something up their sleeves for the second anniversary of City of Heroes closing.

To put things in perspective:

To put things in perspective:
It is only about a year since the end of the kickstater.
There were delays in the beginning with securing licensing and the switch to UE4 from UE3.
Showing laymen unfinished (or at least below a certain threshold of completeness) has a net negative effect. If you doubt me on that, just look at the comments for the fireworks demo video.

I'm hoping like RottenLuck to get to see something for the anniversary of CoH's sunset, but I'm not expecting gameplay footage before the end of the year.

It is hard to wait. I

It is hard to wait. I understand. I want this game so badly it's exasperating.

But Missing Worlds Media did the right thing by jumping on UE4 and is doing the right thing by taking their time with pre-production so that there is a proper foundation and framework for a truly exceptional game to be built upon.

If you've ever learned any skill to a high level of mastery, you know that the right way is frustratingly slow at first, but it lays a foundation for a truly special level of skill to be possible that wouldn't have been possible without the proper preparation.

If you don't take the time to properly clear and level and prepare the land, and then also take the time to build a proper foundation, it doesn't matter how magnificent of a house you build on the lot--it won't last.

Plus, MWM isn't Blizzard. They can't just throw cash at a problem even if they want to. They have to invent solutions with largely volunteer help. And they didn't have a game already pre-produced to re-skin.

So... we have some waiting to do.

I think this hurt VOs Kickstarter, too.

Being in the Pre-Alpha for VO, I can't say much. But their KickStarter is almost up, and nowhere near the goal, which is a sad thing IMHO, for any project.

To be honest, I was awed to see how much over target that CoT did with their KS program, and can't wait for the next round, so I can add to it also. Much to the wife's dismay of course.

In my opinion we have a very

In my opinion we have a very strange and unique problem in that we have a committed fan base for a specific type of game (which we are also part of). These fans have given us the means to pull this off the type of game that the community deserves. Being all volunteer and completely sponsored by the community, there is a certain obligation to show what we have done so far. That is completely understandable. and we wish we could show how every day we edge closer and closer to the goal. The cons of this are the slowing down of production to a) take the time to gather and post everything we can, b) produce shiny solely for this and not focus on the ugly bones of what needs done now and c) leave absolutely no surprises for the game. This is one of the reasons we are going to a bi-weekly update.

It is a definite work in progress and not every update is going to cause head explosions, especially if you aren't that interested in what the update is about. We are a new gaming company making what we think will be an amazing game worthy of this amazing community on a platform that is at the cutting edge right now. MWM tends to aim high and think big. It wouldn't be worth the trouble ,not to mention contributions, otherwise.

I for one am happy about the new Bi-weekly update. I think it is plenty enough for updates on major things you guys and gals are working on. I definitely would not wish to know everything. I want to be pleasantly suprised as I play the finished product. I would rather the Dev team focus on getting the bones up and running than satisfying the few people posting their impatience to see gameplay.

Its a special thing to have a dedicated community willing to volunteer their time, advice, and money to help build "our" game we lost 2 years ago that we love. I just hope the development team understands that we are behind you guys 100%.

Everyone is anxious to see anything new, especially gameplay, but sometimes you gotta take a baseball bat (Nerf of course) to their temples. We are all excitedly waiting for the Avatar builder, Base builder and beta! Keep up the good work!

Ya know, they say never hit a man with a closed fist, but it is on occasion hilarious. -Malcolm Reynolds

One of the problems we're

One of the problems we're facing is that we've come close to getting something releasable and then, well, the guy doing it takes a three week break because their father is sick. (At this moment, about six senior staff have parents that are currently, or have been, within the last month, in the hospital, ranging from spinal surgery to bypasses. This doesn't count our first Project Baby being born.)

The OTHER issue is that Unreal 4 isn't finished - specifically, their UI system just got finally released for _real_ in the last update.
https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/unreal-engine-46-released

It's still not finished yet, but it's a huge improvement over the old 'Slate' system. (Seriously, does anyone remember that?) so we've been kind of building things, then they update, and the new process is SO MUCH BETTER and we throw all our stuff away, sigh, and start again.

Much of what we do is currently in the 'looks like a 1990 video game' stage, because we're linking only the most minimal art to the functional game section right now. Just because it's easier to see when it breaks, and we're breaking it a lot.

But... stay tuned, True Believers.

Better that it breaks now,

Better that it breaks now, than that it breaks after the game goes live. ^_^

The right thing to do is to

The right thing to do is to take the time to build the game right, and we're lucky that MWM really understands that. The tough thing is that this means waiting patiently : /.

I sometimes wish there were a way to infuse more money into the game to help smooth out things like volunteers get the inevitable RL aggro. I just absolutely covet the funding that Star Citizen is getting- but, alas, that's a different situation, I suppose.
