Is it strange that I can spend hours in a character creator to a game I've never played, or will be able to play? Well, I have. Trying out different chest details on my main, changing his hairstyle and gloves... it was at this moment that a brightly accented personality appeared out of nowhere and just wou-- Huh? Yes, yes. I'm filling out the form now. What? Yes, I'll tell them about the regeneration... and the super speed... ok ok and the kung-- ...alright WU-SHU. Happy? Wushu!
-ahem- just wouldn't leave me alone. Forgive me if this is all a bit unpolished. I'm typing it as she tells it and she speaks at a rather rapid clip sometimes. So without further ado....

True to the stereotype, May has had some tutelage in Wushu from both her grandmother and step-father. She is a fairly proficient in weapons use and disabling maneuvers.
Limitations:
-As May, she's your average insecure and shy high school girl. This timidity can sometimes creep into her super-persona. As "The Marvelous Blitz" she suffers from the same "newbie" syndrome that affect most new heroes. Eager, impetuous, impressionable, idol-worship. (Think of a girlish and much less annoying version of "Buddy Pine/Incrediboy" from "The Incredibles"
Brief History:
May's mother Jenny, was the smart, exotic, cheerleader beauty of her high school. Bradley, her genetic father, was the star running back. The marriage of her parents happened in the latter part of University (May happened to be "cooking in the oven"), but went sour very quickly into the post-collegiate years. Bradley never went into pro-football as he expected and bitterly turned to drink. After coming close to physically abusing his wife and young child in one of his drunken binges, he ran off into the night and out of their lives.
Jenny swiftly dropped her career in the performing arts and partnered with her twin sister who had opened a restaurant in the Chinatown area of Titan City. Under tutelage from their mother Lihua, "Twin Dragon Restaurant" rose quickly in its quality of food and service. Jenny though, had gone from a hopeful and happy young woman, to a strict and demanding mother. It was said that you could only tell the difference between the two beautiful dragons when one "breathed flame." Jenny was the bicycle delivery girl. She was good at it. Very good. Never a late delivery despite distance or conditions. Grandma Lihua would comment something along the lines of "fear of scorching dragon fire" on occasion.
An altercation in the cafeteria resulted in May easily subduing the school bully. This got her the attentions of Ashlee Walker, the wild and attractive "bad girl" of Titan High. Both coming from broken homes, the two became fast friends, "Ash" helping to bring May out of her shell, and "Nags" being a calming influence on the wild child. Ashley loved riding along "double dutch" on May's bike during deliveries due to the sheer speed and ridiculous shortcuts her friend took to cut time. It was during one of these times that an event changed their lives, and their relationship forever.
During the return home from a delivery, May and Ashley crashed into a expensively suited man in one of the alleyway shortcuts that May occasionally took. That man happened to be May's father Bradley Stephenson, who was now living a life of crime. Misunderstandings and non-recognition led to a scuffle, which resulted in Bradley shooting his own daughter and her friend. As Ashlee's life drained away, she called out to her friend by her birth name of "Meixiu." The name sent shock waves through Bradley who numbly dropped his firearm and fumbled desperately at his dying daughter. A life he had ran from, for fear of hurting her. In desperation he opened a suitcase he had been carrying (a delivery of his own) and administered an experimental and unknown substance into May and Ashlee. As her cradled her form in his arms, whispering apologies and desperate prayers, the substance took effect and both girls began to heal and stir. The plan was to take them to his apartment and shelter them until they regained consciousness.
The plan was successful in a manner of speaking. As May drowsily came to, Bradley explained to his daughter who he was, why he left and lightly touched on what he had been doing. His words came in paused torrents. Speaking hesitantly at first, then in a rush as the damn broke, then haltingly once again as a new topic was reached. For the most part, May remained silent, still somewhat in shock. Her injury resulting in near-death, her vaguely remembered father.. she was simply not sure how to react or what to say in response. Her replies were of the, "Ok... uh huh... alright..." sort. Ill tempered fate was not done with her or her father that night.
Bradley had not only failed in his delivery, he had also opened the case and used its contents. This was a death sentence. The door to Bradley's apartment was kicked in. Ashlee woke up to the sound. The two girls watched in silent horror as the squad of hit men entered and drew weapons.
A rain of hot lead fell on Bradley, making an absolute mess of him. The squad then turned their attentions to the girls and opened fire. As bullets ripped through and around them, a maelstrom of emotions raged within May and Ashlee. The unknown substance reacted.
Bolts and blasts of electrical energy leapt from May's form, hammering at her assailants. Streams and roars of flame burst from Ashlee, incinerating the environs. After the chaotic fulmination of the elemental tempest, a moment of eerie silence settled. Unnatural quiet was shattered by the blaring of the fire alarm system. Both ran wildly into the night. It was some time before they stopped to catch breath. May remained silent. It was all too much to take in. Ashlee though, began to laugh.
It was much later in life that the two were able to look back and see that night as the birth of a hero, a villain, and their seemingly unending dance.
Notes:
-A typical teenage Titan City girl, suffering from N.A.G.S. (Nerdy Asian girl syndrome).
-Rabid fan of superheroes. Collects newspaper clippings and writes fan-fiction.
-Adores her grandmother and is in her constant company when at home, babbling endlessly to her about superheroes, Ashlee, school, boys and superheroes.
-No longer needs corrective eye-wear due to her regenerative abilities, but wears non-prescription eyeglasses to keep up appearances.
-Her costume is cobbled together parts of protective wear. Elbow and knee pads, sport gloves and shoes, her stepfather's old motorbike jacket pants (hand tailored down to her dimensions of course)
Quotes:
IkiJigoku: She can be quite... excitable. She also appears to be very young. It is my hope that she continues her studies at Titan University.
Auntie Betty: Meixiu? The girl is cute. Good genes you know? Too much like her mother. Too serious, always studying.
Grandma Lihua: Very smart. Takes after her grandfather. Still, a silly girl in the way all young girls are silly. I love her dearly. Something is different about her lately. A sadness, a darkness. She's keeping secrets even from me now.
Jenny Song: You tell that girl that she has to be home by six. Her brother needs help with his schooling, there are deliveries to be made and that new boy is no good. Going to get rid of that one. Plenty of people willing to work you know?
The Marvelous Blitz: The Justice Girls are AWESOME! I wonder if they have interviews? Or... or.... maybe what would be cool is I save one of them! "-ahem- You'll be alright now Miss. Me? I'm THE MARVELOUS BLITZ!" SQUEEEEE!!! I'd be so in!!!
