Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Multiple Creators -- One Mission

I suppose the real question is "How portable will the mission creator be?"

I should clarify this a bit more. Suppose that you have a group of people that wish to work together to create a single mission. Bob likes the do level design and layout, so he designs the maps. Jen likes to work on AI and handles the interactions and unique mechanics. Mike likes to do most of the storytelling, so he develops the dialogue and helps on character models. You have your own small development team all at hand, but none of them live anywhere near each other. Will the system be in place to allow them to work together on a single project.

I suppose from a programming side it comes down to will there be a single file somewhere on the directory that contains enough information that will allow us to pass that single file back and forth or is it spread out among 30 different directories that will leave us unable to work collectively on a project?

Supposing that fails, will there be a way to tag a mission as a work in project and pass ownership to another player (requiring permission of course) to allow them to work on the project if they download the full mission from the server rather than simply playing it directly from the server?

While I cannot make any

While I cannot make any promises about anything — we have not yet even cracked open the mission building tasks further than doing some requirements analysis and preliminary design — I will point out that what you just described is a fairly accurate description of how the actual dev team operates. Since we have a whole lot of mission to write, it seems reasonably likely that we will end up *having* to come up with something that allows effective collaboration at a distance. It may or may not be through the server proper, since the "full form" (source code, if you want to think of it that way) is generally far larger than the "running form" (compiled, for that metaphor). However, with that said, there are a rather sizable number of projects that coordinate exactly that sort of setup between lots of folks across vast distances. In fact, it describes probably more than 95% of open source projects… ever, in fact.

Which also brings up and

Which also brings up and interesting question for the developers. If a story arc gets to something like 10k ratings with 4-5 stars, will the developers look at them and consider putting such arcs into the actual game environment as a stand alone arc. Or maybe single missions into the list of radio/tip/etc. missions. Like a requirement for creators to where the use of an important character or some continuity problem in the player created arc that will eliminate (for the most part) them from ever becoming part of the game outside the architect.

I never heard it confirmed,

I never heard it confirmed, but my theory (and remember, it's just a theory) about CoH keeping MA material behind the "player made" wall of the MA vs. "claiming the good stuff into the game" might have been legal.

Say I publish a story arc in our new game's story creator and it gets incorporated into the game - good for me and everyone! But what if some company comes along and notices that I swiped all the dialogue from a comic book they published? Or merely think my villain looks a whole lot like one of theirs? Legal fisticuffs may ensue over the new game having provided it the aura of "company ownership" over the material (getting players to sign their work over to the company in a satisfactory legal manner is another issue, but we'll leave that alone for now...).

Kept behind the firewall of "fan made stuff", however the company can easily remove it at first (legal) notice, offer an apology and deflect the problem completely or at least provide some cover if they still get taken to court (something like what happened with the issue of players recreating copyrighted characters). There's no way a company can really hope to fully inspect everything published by players, because there's just too much of it.

Keep in mind I'm just theorizin' like mad here and that I'm not part of this game's legal department, game mechanics design people or someone with insider knowledge about how CoH was handled. So yes this comment is probably worth the pixels it's printed on. Maybe less.

It would have to be reviewed

It would have to be reviewed by a team and the legal team to go over the arc and determine if it can be used. And these arcs have got be be a super high ranking with hundreds of thousands of play throughs. Something that you guys determine how high a arc has to be in ratings, reviews, etc.

I don't know much about how this would work much like you but it is something that can be looked at real quick.
