It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Will CoT be anything like this?!

I'm going to start this off by saying.. I absolutely LOVED CoH/CoV.
I played the game from the time i was in 5th grade until it shut down a year after i graduated HS.
I had plenty of experience with every AT and powerset in the game PvE and PvP. (ask somebody!) *wink*
I have also played WoW, DCUO, and SWTOR, for a number of years now and i personally hate all of them.

I have never been able to fully enjoy these games because: Weekly Restrictions, GEAR, no originality to costumes/armors/looks, travel is horrible except for in DCUO, Item binds, barely any end game content, very limited classes/powersets and races, how we must play with other people majority of game content and that we must have at least 1 tank, 1 heal, 1+ dps every time we group/Que, Predictable boss encounters, lack of interest in zone pvp, and no power leveing.(reasonable way to level alts)

Now, before you call me a PL junkie or anything like that.. I leveled plenty of toons from 1-50 in CoH/CoV, but i do not have the time or the patience to do it every single time I want something new. I did not mind playing through the game content on either faction a few times when i got bored here and there, but I loved being able to make a super epic killing machine in mids and then PLing myself to lvl 50 in just a couple of hours to go through and play the content i liked most at the end. (MoSTFs/ITFs/LGTFs/PvP) especially.

If ANYONE knows the answer to this next question, please reply so i can never pay any mind to CoT again...

Will this game have a Gear System? If so, you can go ahead and count me out.

The one reason I loved CoH so much was the unique approach to the character advancement system (Enhancements) . The enhancement system is the only way of upgrading your character that has made sense to me. EVER. Having to slot and enhance each individual power allows the player to have their own originality and uniqueness to ever character.

I also feel that CoH/CoV excelled in the way Teams/Leagues functioned and were organized.
ANY combination of Archtype could be on a team and do work together whether it was a full team of Tankers wanting to power through a STF or a full team of dominators mezzing their way through an ITF, we could do it however we wanted. This brought on it's own set of challenges because you had to assemble your very own team and the game was not allowed to do it for you.

Endgame content was so fun and engaging on CoH/CoV that you truly wanted to do it everyday and you could,
because there were no weekly restrictions or que times to worry about.

PVP (:

I personally believe that CoH/CoV has had the best PvP concept out of any game that i have ever played.
If you feel like your in the mood to go fight some villains, you switched toons and ran to (RV/SC/WB/BB) and engaged in all out war. There was no time limit, there was no specific objective to comeplete, you just zoned in and fought villains whether it was 30 heroes vs. 30 villains or 75 people standing on the block under atlas taking turns in 1v1 fights. Along with zone pvp, we had Arena, which allowed you to go in and fully customize pvp matches ranging from rules, time limits, and maps, and even allowing you to turn on/off DR, inspirations (consumable temp. buffs), and temporary powers.

If you were to make every AT with every combination of powers in CoH/CoV you would have over 1000 characters, and that's not including Epic Powersets. (if the math is right xD). Meanwhile in WoW, You will only have 11 different characters to be able to play everything.

CoH/CoV was and still is my favorite game, I am not expecting this game to be an exact clone, nor do i want it to be, but as a spiritual Successor I am hoping that it will bring at least some of what i said above into this game.

- @TheMega & @Gigan.

And to leave you all with an example of a REAL build that takes time, effort and calulations to put together, i'm posting the pvp build i used on my plant/fire dom.
I was the only person in game to have this combo and make it work in game on any of the servers that i played on.
I was around 15-0 in arena 1v1s if i remeber correctly. and that is against all ATs. including you regen scrappers.

I know it might be simpler

Yes thats from Scarlet Blade. Video: http://youtu.be/6ON-gfJxhfY?t=4m10s

I know it might be simpler using a Skill Power points system to upgrade abilities, but I'm hoping for a more customizable approach later.

Note that I am not part of the game design team, and have at best a slightly better grasp than what has been published already.

Our goal is to create a spiritual successor for City of Heroes.

The strict approach to team composition is very high on the list of things we do not want. We want any combination of players to be viable, and at least all classifications to be soloable (although of course, some combinations will inevitably be better for solo play than for teams, and vice versa).

We indeed are (more or less) going with the City of Heroes system of Ability Modification (personal terminology). They are to be kept mostly abstract, so how you increase your powers is left to your imagination. Origins will not exist (outside of your biography text and roleplay), There will presumably be special slots for global power increase, Invention set boni will probably be less extreme than in City of Heroes.

This is another big NO from

This is another big NO from me.
If this game has skill points/talents I will not be playing.

Skill points/talents are far too simple and limit what you can do in game severely and they give no character originality.

In CoH we could build our toons to our own playstyles and make them do just about anything you wanted if you were good enough.
If I wanted to solo an ITF on my plant/fire dominator I could.
I could solo just about anything in the game on my illusion/emp controller.

With skill points/talents, there is no possible way that will happen.
Every class in wow and swtor has the same exact same selections on every spec because there is only one way to play in those games.
DCUO wasn't as bad in that regard but the whole gear system is stupid imo.

Has anything been said about

Has anything been said about farming/Power Leveling?

I enjoyed doing that just as much as i did playing content.

I would rather be able to PL myself and just do pvp/end game TFs than to have to play everything all the way to cap level.

I have also seen that the cap at launch will be level 30 and they plan on raising it to level 50... Will the cap always be 50 after that? or am i just going to have to deal with leveling all my toons every other expansion.?

Now, if we will be able to PL i wouldnt mind at all... I just don't want to have to play everything and level everything up over and over. Call me lazy... but whatevs! xD
i had over 40 level 50s on CoH/CoV.. if i wasn't able to PL that wouldn't have been possible for me.

The goal is not to prevent farming or PL but to give it no inherent advantage. That is where a lot of games fail, it has an advantage, so they have to fight to prevent it.

People will find a way.

People will find a way. Always.

The key is just making sure it's not actually a problem. And often it isn't.

Early AE was a problem. Before and after that generally wasn't.

Managing things that can actually cause real problems is wise.

Having a philisophical problem with power leveling whether it is a problem or not is folly.

Dev-certified 100% non-PL badge! For those who care...

CoH was FUN, so I 90% mostly just played the game. But I used probably all of the main PLing methods at one point or another to some degree for various reasons on most if not all of my toons to--for example--get through "doldrum" patches in leveling, re-start a character as another AT, or reach that one power that would bring my build together and make gameplay more fun.

But hordes of brand new players at level 50 asking how to get their first mission as in the early days of AE is obviously a game-breaking problem.

Heh. I PLed 90% of my toons.

Heh. I PLed 90% of my toons.

But that was after I learned the game. I played for years before I got my first 50.

I also never PLed anyone if they did not play at least 1 toon to 50.
Whether they were members in my SG or not.

I'm not even asking for a version of the AE monster farm lol.

But an old school family/demon farm would be nice ((:

I've never understood how farming/PL give someone an advantage though..All you do is make money or get levels.

Making money isn't an advantage imo. And getting levels isn't either imo. Since everyone in the game has the same opportunity to do it.

Especially when you can play the market.

Ohhhh! Any news on what the CoT version of WW will be?

If you think about it, a lot of Superheroes ARE GMOs.

Now there is an idea for a supervillain group if I ever saw one, an evil power convincing people they are the good guys for the benefit of mankind whilst taking over all the farm land with their evil legal ways...
