Resoldier the Commodore's 6510? Is that some kind of Captain America reference?

Good, now I know what Dr Tyche does, at least in terms of his job duties.
I guess we'll have to wait for a separate article to see what wacky hijinx, if any, he gets up to during or outside of the job.
Longtime City of Heroes player, longtime writer. :) Working in Nebraska.
COT: Mission tips writer, studying Cinema 4D animation program
All this time I thought he was the "Hannibal" of MWM and here we find he was really the "Faceman".

Interesting read, although I think it is *totally* unacceptable to put a message in here concerning Kickstarter backers without even telling people about it via kickstarter.
How on earth are people supposed to know that RIGHT NOW the 2D Kickstarter exclusive wallpapers are available for them to download?
They don't... not unless they have:
1) Signed up to the forums
2) Managed to get the account moved into the Kickstarter backers group (which I believe now involves PMing one of the admins to do this).
I *seriously* hope that you plan to send out a backers only Kickstarter message concerning this, telling them to get a forum account to stay up to date with the stuff that is being sent out...
Either that or mailing out the links in a backers only message. Sure, you might end up giving away *ONE* batch of wallpapers to the people who donated less than $5 (or whatever it is), but you then just need to go in further Kickstarter Wallpaper updates "Go to the super secret section to get your new goodies". If the person isn't in that group, they won't be able to see it to download it. So even if *everyone* gets the message, only those who have access to the pertinant information (ie those who can properly see the Kickstarter Exclusive section) know about it.
And why I am going on about this? Because I *KNOW* of some people who have donated money to the kickstarter who ignore all emails relating to "lore" (ie Gabby the Cabby) so if you try to put *essential* pieces of information that *Everyone* needs to read, they wont read it. It gets automatically filtered out by their email provider. However, if you send it as a *separate* email, they are more likely to read it (and if they do miss it, at least it is their own fault for deleting it, and not yours for hiding in the recesses of a long email).

Well, you should not send out multiple updates the same day (we learned that one the hard way). Then the important ones tend to get lost in the noise. Even if a system or effort is made ready later in the day from and earlier update, you make sure to have at least 24 hours between them, preferably 30, to make sure that the second update is not ignored as a duplicate or caught by a spam filter.
But not including the information at all would be an issue as well. Since updates are generally planned well in advance, this means any additional, critical data gets added to the end. Has happened a few times so far, but has been followed up later on.

If you have 2 different topics covered in the same email, it would make a butt load of sense to actually *SAY* that there are 2 different topics present; either in the subject line, or in the first paragraph. Don't assume that people will read an article on "How to get the most out of your roleplay" when they are really needing something about "Keeping your account information up to date".
Sure you might put both into the same email, but if you don't tell people at the start that the email contains both articles, then yes... it is their fault for not reading the whole email; but it is also YOUR fault for not making the contents of the email clear either.
All it takes is a quick one or two liner at the start saying what follow. Hell, that is what the subject line in emails is for...
DOCTOR TYCHE: As technical director, I have to oversee and manage the technical aspects of MWM. This ranges from developing the software development toolchain to hiring the programmers. While I do not program myself, I need to keep a close watch on the programmers to make sure that they are delivering what was asked for. I also work as 'company scrounger', a lot of the time, digging for better deals for any piece of technology needed. Saving $200 here, $80 here, it adds up. It does mean we do not always get the latest gear, nor get it as quickly as we could if we just dropped on it, but we do get what we need when we need it, well, most of the time.
This is sort of talk that will eventually make the people who were too late for the kickstarter ask for when the next fund raiser is going to be.
