Saw this movie the other night - gotta say I enjoyed it very much. A bit of background - I liked X1 and X2, even though they are a little lukewarm compared to the excellent supers movies we are currently experiencing - but that's what you get for being the trailblazer I suppose. X3 I was very disappointed with. The Wolverine movies were disappointments as well. Quite frankly the comic nerd part of me thought they were crapping on the franchise.
First Class actually made me interested in the franchise again, but there were a few continuity issues with the original films and this - enough to make it confusing.
Without going into too much detail, Days of Future Past, in one stroke, fixes the franchise. The good is more or less maintained, while the bad is summarily thrown in the trash or flat-out ignored.
Now don't get me wrong, I have been an x-men fan since I was a kid collecting the comics, and even the current cinematic x-world diverges from the comic in little annoying ways (Alex is supposed to be Scott's younger brother - but they are probably setting Alex up as Scott's father?) - but this new world is serviceable enough to tell some great x-men stories.
And the teaser at the end of the credits has got me really excited about the next installment! Can't wait to see what they do with the character featured.
SPOILERS:
Magneto has the coolest scene ever in the history of film. Think about his character and use your imaginations.

I would enjoy one film comprising only Fassbender's scenes from the last 2 films much more than I enjoyed either of the last 2 films.

Fun fact: 'fass' is German for barrel (or keg, if you prefer).
Carry on.

I unfortunately have to wait for the films to come out on DVD/Bluray. So that means that I am normally 6 months behind everyone concerning "new films"... >.<
I'm in the same boat, unless I want to see the movie in French.
Not that the idea of a French Wolverine isn't amusing.

Ouch -- I thought you were in the UK. Then again, you benefit from not having to sit through the trailer for 22 Jump Street. It was almost causing my gf and me actual physical pain.

You got lucky. i had to see the one for 1000 Ways to Die in the West. It's bad when I knew step by step how the trailer would go the first time I saw it... and then there was The Cloud. The whole time I was watching that, I kept hearing Jerry and Elaine.

Oh, we got 1000 Ways also. It was actually a relief when they showed an ad for phones before the film.
What's The Cloud? I can't even find a reference on imdb.

:P Unfortunately I don't think I can post the actual name, so I'm codenaming it "The Cloud". New Jason Segal movie, you might have seen the ad for it.

Yep, I am in the UK. But I am also a full time live in carer, so that means that just popping down to the cinema to see a film is pretty much out of the question; especially right now where the persons that I look after *isn't* doing so well.
And even if I were to bring the person with me, she can't easily sit in one place for a couple of hours without getting into pain/needing to go to the toilet etc etc.
So cinema's are pretty much a no go for me (along with going out to see friends/family/strangers). Infact, most times I do go out, I have to do it as a diving trip to the shops right now.
That's rough, especially if you like films. But I admire you for your selflessness and dedication. I hope she does better soon.
