Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.
It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.
To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.
Good work guys, I like the lore :)

This thing reads more like a teaser than an interview.

This made me smile: "the fire department don’t take kindly to things burning ‘round here"
If we can go inside Vaulted Comics, please please please put a Captain Sweatpants in there.
Spurn all ye kindle.
Kind of makes one wonder just what is UNDER all that lovely, shiny stuff, doesn't it?
Whatever stinks the worst, you work the hardest to cover.

Personal rules of good roleplay
1.) Nothing goes as planned.
2.) If it goes as planned it's not good RP
I hope the writing team takes this criticism in the good nature it is intended:
I think this piece could really work on the voice of the character.. saying words like "proclivity" while abbreviating words like "til" for until and " 'n such" makes this character hard to relate to in text. The voice is both overly intelligent and somehow a bumpkin.
I am not saying every character needs to be a walking token, but in terms of written language it is more engaging when the voice of a character is consistent. It allows the reader to triangulate their interpretation of who that character is based on the readers' experience.
Because written text WILL be the majority of the voice, I look forward to seeing the writing improve.

I've actually known a few people like that. They're simple folk, but they pick up more advanced words at times.

I just watched Dark City last night and the very smart detective talks almost like the cabby, but I still could believed the character was real enough. link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dbjFLtyw7w
Looking at that film now, it seems as if it should have been a B Movie, but the Music in it was awesome enough to pull you in, making the movie seem like it was allot better! :)
Yeah. This works is full of different types of people with different back grounds : )
Two questions.
Why do you owe him that?
How can I get 5 bucks? : )
(Joke about the five bucks. I'll take a flux capacitor so I can get my 2018 sub running again. I just hit lvl 60 and need to go solo a HM (Huge Monster) so I can get my +5 end regen accolade ; )
Visual/Audio media are not the same medium as text media..
Sorry if my critique rubs some the wrong way

It's all ok : ). Just throwing out my opinion too.
Everyone imagines the pictures painted by text a little differently. In my head the old guy even had an accent befitting the way he talked ; ). At first I thought he was a bit over stereotypical, but the little bits of smart here and there made me imagine someone with a bit more depth.
There is no need to be sorry. The writer(s) wanted feedback. You gave yours.
Personally, I cringed several times during my reading of "Interview with an Old Man on the Street." I don't think political correctness should rule our lives or our art, and likewise I don't find the use stereotypes desirable either.
I think “Old Ben” would be a good NPC for City of Titans, someone who has watched Titan City evolve over the past ninety years, someone who perhaps knows things about Titan City that aren’t in the official record, someone who can aid Titan City’s heroes in their quest for justice, but I think his “voice” has to change.
I applaud the efforts of everyone at Missing Worlds Media to recreate the game that we all loved, but, for me, "Interview with an Old Man on the Street" is a miss.
It wasn't perfect, but entertaining. After looking over it again, Old Ben kind of makes me think of a Bumkin Pirate : ). Anyways wife is calling, got to try to get some sleep tonight.
The feedback, positive and negative, is appreciated (especially the constructive kind).
However, just pointing out that this is NOT a recreation of that game at all, but a new and hopefully better game that is aiming for a similar feel :)

That fellow seems like the sort who'd get an arched-eyebrow response from most of my characters - followed by a mild test via sarcasm to see if, and how much, he is hiding...
Personally, I didn't find the word "proclivity" to be out of character nor did it harsh my sense of immersion. The man is supposed to be old, not brain-dead after all, and I don't personally take proper use of the word "proclivity" in a sentence as a sign of super-intelligence. If I had to split hairs, my only complaint would be the use of the numeral "2" instead if the word "two" which I spotted in there. When writing fiction, I was taught to avoid such things as numerals and so forth and just spell the actual word out. So I'd use "and" and not "&", spell out words that represent numbers, etc. If the character is shouting something in support of his or her favorite sports team, they'd shout "We're number one!" and not "WE'RE #1!" etc.

I actually have to second this, albeit with a caveat: in general, *out of character* text should actually go the other way, and even more so in cases where you're deliberately keeping in-character text as spoken (which does mean fully written out, but by extension, basically all in-character expression).
"Now, I'd say you have three options here..."
Do you:
1. Ignore the rest of what he has to say,
2. Listen carefully, or
3. Ooooohhh, shiny!
Extra credit: one can list every option as a full sentence, every option as a clause with no punctuation, or every clause in a manner that causes the entire set to be readable as a sentence, but *never* switch halfway through, any more than you would switched verb tenses or shift from imperative to interrogative?

:o *Gasp* How can it ever be a B movie if Jennifer Connelly is in it!?
You Sir Offended Her fine Sensibilities!
Me Jealous Now! Me want Pony Travel power! Just... like... that... one. ;)
And on a side note.. The Rocketeer was also a nice movie. :)
Will there be a Jazz like club, like the South Seas Club in that movie.. The Rocketeer?!? :)
OHMYGOD! I remember that "riding the hobby horse" scene! It was in the 1991 movie "Career Opportunities" which I saw in the theater when I was 18. Even as a horny 18 year old I couldn't help thinking "This is kind of obviously a gratuitous titillation scene, isn't it?" this was of course in the wake of my knee-jerk first reaction of "Holy CR@P that's hot ! This movie was $5 well spent!" If that movie was in any way responsible for sparking the fine career Jennifer Connelly went on to have, I'm happy for her, because she's a great actress, but WOW was that blatant exploitation.
to Izzy: You can have the pony if I can have everything else. :)
R.S.O. of Phoenix Rising
I believe Labyrinth was the first spark in her career, a role she almost didn't get if I recall from the DVD special features.

Also, I think CoT should have a mall with one of those one of those horsey ride machines. Wait, no, two of them. That way we can have races ;)

The Pony Express? ;)
While I agree with earlier comments about wanting to know what "the incident" is, Old Ben wouldn't tell an interviewer something she already knows anymore than someone on our public TV would tell us about an equally disastrous event. So I am intrigued, but figure I'll have to wait and find out such lore in game.
I personally didn't notice Old Ben sounding out of character, but I agree with earlier comments about keeping an eye out for making a written voice "sound" correct, especially given it will mostly (if not all) be text. An important note to keep in mind.
The last part of the update had this: "Why, there’s half-priced drinks at The Shipyard Public House, 20% off comics and gaming products at The Vault and Vaulted Comics, and one free scoop with every pint purchased at Briggstone Ice Creamery, just to name a few."
This got me thinking... wouldn't it be cool if you went to the Briggstone Ice Creamery, bought some ice cream, and then your character is animated as eating it? Or wouldn't it be cool if you could collect comics in game? Or a collectable card game that you could play with others in the game (a game inside a game is rather fun as FFVII and FFX proved). Just thoughts, really. "would be kinda cool" kind of stuff that is far from the primary focus of the initial release, but could likely be rather easily added to the game later in the CoT's life. :)
Still sounds like one big comic con convention to me :-)
