Well they've been saying for what seems like a couple of months that we're going to be getting a new forum server/system soon. I figure they'll sort out the KS titles when that happens.

Kickstarter Badges are going to be finished up soon. Kickstarter titles we're working on getting that to function properly without obliterating the forums. The City of Titans re-design is still on the table but the timeline on that has been adjusted, as well. I promise, when it's coming I will harass you with Soon™ and vague hints.
Again, we're doing the Kickstarter badges manually by hand - and it can be a bit cumbersome and lead to discussions like this:

I may have missed something when it came to linking your KS info to these forums. I donated, but I don't remember a place where I indicated my kickstarter status when I registered for the forum, or my forum handle when I donated to the KS. Does this leave me in limbo? How do I get hooked up with the coveted Green K?
We are almost about done going through and manually ([i]by hand[/i]) verifying all the backers who've registered for the forums with their email addresses. If you used a different email for your KS than for your forum account, send me a PM with your name and email address you believe you used.

There've also been a small technical snafu or two in the process here. But we're almost done! Like VDG said, it's all about the email you used. So if you used a different email for your Kickstarter sign up than you used to register here, we can't correct that. PMs are probably better than just slapping your email addys up on a post. Much more likely to grab our attention that way.
As a side point, I love seeing all the shiny Ks under so many names!

Well, tell us when we should panic about this, since I don't think I've gotten my shiny K yet. My email address here and on KS is the same, I just doublechecked.
I'm currently following the advice of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy until they say they have finished.

True, but if you leave it for too long before wondering "have they finished it", then you start wondering if they have *even* started doing it
Case in point: Wallpapers. The video only went up a week(ish) ago, around 2 *MONTHS* after the expected delivery date that was listed on Kickstarter, with no updates on the status of it. And compared to the rest of the delivery dates, this was the first one in line, and one that they missed on.
I see your point regarding the wallpapers, but for the 'K' we know they are in the middle of working on it and can see the evidence from the many who already have it.

We are in the final stretch and doing some verifications on people who pledged to the KS and registered to the forums with a different email address. To describe the process of manually verifying these emails, it's sort of like this:

I know in one CoX facebook group where someone was *this* close to pulling their funding because nothing had been said publicly about it all running late.
Thankfully one of the dev's was in the group as well (which kind of but not really) surprised us. Lets just say that words were said, and that within 24 hours we saw some changes already happening (coincidental timing or what?!)
The problem that I see with the Kickstarter forum titles, is that once they have done one pass through the database, are they going to be relying on people to get in touch with them to claim it?
Or are they going to send out an email to *all* the backers saying "if you haven't signed up for the forums yet, but you do.... please email xxx [at] whatever.com so we can get you the rewards that you deserve"
Or is it going to be fully automated?
((Side note: There are 4579 current members of this forum (at time of writing), and the kickstarter had 5003 backers. I don't know how many of the forum members are not backers (i know that not everyone is, or didn't donate enough to earn a title), but I can *guarantee* that not all backers have signed up here))
I can tell you, proportionately, there are more people who pledged for our KS campaign who [i]didn't[/i] register for the forums than those who pledged and did join the forums, of which I'm certain a fair chunk used a different email address to join the forums. Our goal right now is get through the log of all those who pledged and joined and then we'll figure out how we're going to reach out to the thousands of people who [i]haven't[/i] registered for the forums yet with their KS emails.
Part of the long term goal is to migrate off of this current back-end and onto a new one. I had hoped to have it done before now, but with things being what they are, it has not happened yet as other areas took priority. Part of why an automation system for here was not done is due to this planned migration, did not want to have to make a system twice.

And then what? A box is a box, it stores an input. You still need to search, cross referee and flag. Only now we could not search using the included tools.

i was thinking.. adHoc query to do the search. Add a byte field to the table. Run the adHoc query, if an email matches after UPPER it, trim it, etc... set the bit field to true.
In the Forums PHP, chance it so that it looks at the bit field in determining weather to show the K image or not. Or something like that. :P
I'm "assuming" there's a way to export a listing of the emails in a CSV format, so that you can bulk import it into a table for the above operation. Even if its not a clean CSV listing that KS gives you, i wonder if you could Copy and paste it to EXCEL and write a VBA Function (or just use a combination of the existing ones on a cell) that can parse out the emails. Then Export just that parsed out Columns with the ks-email/name/etc... combinations. I know, i'm always trying to take a cleaver way out. :<
