I volunteered for a position back in August on the old MWM forums, was in constant PM contact with MWM people through September, and ... haven't heard anything since.
Are there any coding positions still open, particularly in AT/Powers coding? Having more people on that would allow for more classes to be available at launch, wouldn't it? All the open positions on the Org Chart seem to be for management positions, and, while I have done such things when there was no other choice, that's not my main skillset and it's not something I enjoy doing.
Edited to add: With any luck, I'm going to be seriously upgrading my computer in the next couple of months, so that aspect of the old topic no longer applies. I'll be able to run anything that needs to be run.
Edited again to add: I'm still going to be seriously updating my computer, but not until the end of the year.
I do not think you have "missed the boat." There are still many of us who have yet to hear one way or the other. Near as I can tell (from what I have read and from what little correspondence I have had) is that while some departments have been able to proceed more-or-less on schedule, others have been held up due to delayed software licenses, technical obstacles, or other such circumstances beyond their control. Also, there were a couple higher-up positions vacated, and I think the team wanted to get those positions filled and up-to-speed before proceeding with lower-level "hiring."
One thing that is confirmed as behind schedule is the forum upgrade/change-over that was slated to happen nearly three months ago. They do not want to lose all the forum topics like what happened the first time we switched forums, but the person who would have been in charge of the time consuming task of converting that data can no longer work on it. Someone else then has to be found for, assigned to, and trained in the position before progress can continue. So if similar things are going on in other departments, that could definitely be why those of us still in "the waiting room" have yet to be contacted.

Mentalshock here, the HR guy for Missing Worlds Media.
If you have not heard back about your application, I would encourage you to reapply. Most likely the switch-over from the previous forums caused some applications to be lost. If you are interested in volunteering with Missing Worlds Media, you can email me directly at Mentalshock@missingworldsmedia.com. Please provide as much detail as possible into your skill sets and the area you would like to volunteer in.
The Method behind the Madness leads to Creative Insanity.
I've more than a little experience working with databases and some with forums. The actual conversion really shouldn't be time-consuming.
It should be a matter of looking at how each forum's database stores posts and figuring out how to convert them. Actual conversion should then just be a matter of running a script and over in a matter of seconds. Ditto for user data.
They wouldn't even need to give anyone access to the existing forums. An examination of the table structure of both forums and a bit of sample data might be sufficient.
I don't suppose they're still looking for Sculptors/modelers or animators? I didn't see anything even related to artists in the open position charts.
Has anyone seen my divinity?

Mentalshock, I sent you an application listing my skills and all the various ways I think I could be useful to MWM.
As instructed I sent along a courtesy copy to J. Bolack as well.
It was to your email addresses not on the old forums...
...that was 6 months ago.

Also sent a followup to you guys back in February.
Then a brief note to president (I believe that is her position based on the youtube video she made) Firefairy asking politely for any kind of update. That was in March.
I have yet to hear anything from any of you.

Just recently sent along a message to Nate Downs over on Kickstarter (I believe it is he who gets the notes there) asking him to look into it and a separate issue as well, that issue being I have not been able to claim any of my rewards from KS {error message keeps popping up} and having contributed more than a grand I should have heard back about creating my weapons, my NPC, my geocacher badge marker text, etc. etc. etc. but still haven't yet.

Now I'm posting this here.
Can someone look into this please?
Sincerely,
Christopher

As far as your weapons, NPC, and badge marker, that'll be in the second and third survey. We're still processing the first. Some people, er, managed to leave their shipping addresses in Titan City, and we're trying to get them to fix it because it's really hard to get the T-Shirts into a place that doesn't exist yet.
As far as your existing perk credit, if any is left, I just had a password reset sent to your email.
Remember, the perk site is
http://perks.cityoftitans.com/
but it doesn't cover weapons and NPCs yet.

Yeah, ummm, sorry about that, ^_^'
So, how am I supposed to change it, after the fact? There doesn't seem to be any buttons for that there.

Correct, we are fixing it on the back end. But we do need to add change of address on the front end before the system is opened widely.

Hello all,
I'm very interested in your companies work, I miss COH. Anyway, I recently graduated from Westwood College in Game Software Development. I have worked with Unreal and Unity engines. It would be fun to get into level design. I am an avid gamer also and i look forward working with a team of professionals and continuing my career pursuits. Hoping I can get hired eventually.
-Unreal Unity engines
-some 3ds max and maya experience
-C++ object oriented programming
-ready and willing to learn more from professionals

For level design, you're likely either to wind up in Art or Story (Nytrinhia and Robin are the respective people to contact about that), however, in the near term, we probably could use your aid more in client development, given your proficiency with Unreal Engine. This will likely evolve into involvement with developing our base builder down the line, given the alignment with your particular interests. Please contact Cerulean about joining the Game Architecture and Client development team!
(I know Nytrinhia is also looking for artists, so you might discuss things with both her and Cerulean to see where your talents are most needed, or if you can do some work for both, depending on your available time and their workloads to distribute. Don't want you burning out or anything! But looking around a little to see where you best fit and are happiest is probably a good idea.)

Doctor Tyche, do you know if the tech team is still taking volunteers? I tried to apply back in November, and more recently sent Mentalshock my resume, but the job listings don't mention any open tech positions other than on the IT/web development side of things, and I am primarily a C++ developer. I am not sure if you guys still need people for the actual game programming or if you are full up already, but I would be glad to help in any way possible.
Okay. I'm going to go through this whole thing with HR this weekend. I know we're holding off on Art until we get one tech piece done - Microsoft changed how they handle custom domains recently, and that's prompted some interesting urgent work on our internal domain server.
I'm going to make sure people who are interested contact each of you directly.
Christopher Robin, I was informed you're a texture artist?

I'm still interested in inter-departmental coordination, if the need exists.

Christopher Robin, may I ask what email address you used. can you copy paste it for me? I have checked both of my email addresses and I can't find anything from you. I have even gone thru all 1703 emails and still no dice which has me concerned with is my email box broken or was my email address posted wrong etc. I do not want to see artists missed because of email issues.
