Hi everyone! I'm tiding myself over until November 2015 with occasional commissions. This first one is a celebration of the eventual appearance of Jet Amago from the worst of Hurricane Yolanda (aka Haiyan), family intact. A Lego hero is very cool!
LEGO Airhead does indeed exist! His current hands are dark grey, lightened digitally. I'm sourcing a lighter pair. He doesn't have a face or stripes yet, but I have my designs ready and I have been studying my decal options. I need to buy decal materials for a laser printer that default to white for the vest and clear for the face. His current vest is printed on paper and attached with cheap glue - at least it means printing is sorted. His red shoes - I should have thought to edit the image! - will be painted on, requiring a primer and a varnish too.
There's a whole industry around LEGO minifigures that I did not know about before I began. I found a lot of custom soldiers based on the world's armies, but no particular focus on custom superheroes beyond official ones. Perhaps I just haven't found those sites yet. I already have most of the parts I need to build Knitwit, Duffer, Geezer, Auntie, Baku Fu and Kenning, as well as a couple of other-peoples' heroes. But completing the makeover is a whole 'nother playground.

Next we have Kenning! My extrapolation-prone mad scientist has been faithfully rendered in plush by [b]Layla[/b] ! I love the tattoos, and the special patch on its bottom. The artist has a truly joyful imagination. Posing Kenning next to a "Wakie" the CoH players all know, as well as the artist's avatar herself, is a pick-me-up every time I see it.
This has come at the perfect time to make a difference. Layla could use a Wakie right now with a major set-back happening in her life. Show your support for her brilliant designs and share the joy at her Etsy shop online. Another, and very cuddly, way to keep the City of Heroes spirit alive!

[b]Duffer[/b] was a shield/kinetic tank in City of Heroes. Not the most practical tank, but fun to watch. He used Shield Charge, some sort of medium-range kinetic punch, Haste/recharge and some Knockdown procs to cause chaos and hold aggro from a distance. Sort of like a cannon ball. Great in corridors where he could pile the bad guys up in a corner.
Can't wait for CoT.

It's my old villain Geezer, returning from exile as his new city takes shape. But a new life of cynical opportunity is last on his mind when he meets the inhumanity of World War I, Istvan Czernin thineself! Istvan hails from "The Interminables", written by Paige Orwin. Paige's co-conspirator [url=http://plangkye.deviantart.com/]plangkye[/url] has produced many beautiful images of [url=http://the-interminables.deviantart.com/]characters and scenes[/url] from the book. And now I have one too, drawn by one of his creators! I love everything about it. Traditional style fits old school costuming, and expressions so wonderfully candid. Not to mention the ghost's unique character design.
The artist is currently open for commissions on DeviantArt. I also highly recommended the novel on [url=http://cityoftitans.com/forum/interminables-out]another thread[/url]. Hopefully it is just the first of many more!

I just learned to sew gloves, cape, pants and hat, all in time for a Christmas party. I also semi-successfully sewed a mask and found a shortcut for pirate boots using socks with good elastic. Voila, it's Madcap, my favorite villain since the 80s!
Hopefully his fame will be restored by appearing as a movie villain of Deadpool...

Do you still do character drawings ?
I could try. My drawing skills are much worse than my sewing skills. I sometimes provide a thumbnail as a guide for a real artist. My thumbnails have been very embarassed by the spectacular results but they're still happy for me.

The internet is chock full of distractions! scotweb.co.uk has a tool to design your own tartan. It's a bit harder than it looks to get something pleasing so I built an airtartan instead. Every hero deserves one. The airfigurine was made in heroforge.com. Airprefixin' like a smurf! The figure's colors were overlain using paint.net.
