Greetings friends. Thought it was a good time to claim my own little corner of the "Media Sharing", section...
I'll post various pieces of my work in this topic...who knows. If there's a concept I like on the boards...you might see it here as well!
First up I'll start with my main concept, Nova. There are several concepts of mine blended to make this character. I have no back story yet. Kind of running into a concept-block at the moment with this one.

I wasn't a fan of that particular sketch of Anthem, but the design was head and shoulders above her current incarnation. I really hope he gets on the team, this character, Nova, looks awesome.

Nova is a pretty awesome looking Character, and i would love to see a man of your talent join the devs, the only, I wouldn't say problem, but i feel it does deserve mentioning. Marvel kind of already has a character called Nova, I'd just consider changing the name if you do join the devs, after all Marvel particularly kind when people were making Marvel characters in CoH; not saying it's a bad name or that you should be scared, more like just a little cautious (I mean both marvel and DC had two completely different characters called Captain Marvel so it CAN happen)

I'm not sure if Nova has time. He is the creator of Bombard Comics and is coming out with his own series soon.

GoldPeter, I'm not worried about the name "Nova", at all. As it's an Astronomy term which basically is a star that increases in it's brightness. "Nova", is actually used for several companies and development centers as well...they can't stamp the name. Where I could get in trouble is if I had a kid (I think he's a kid now) dawning a similar design and calling him Nova.
Although I would be flattered to be asked to join the team (I've never been asked...to be clear) I would respectfully decline as I'm dedicated to my own project.

You're making me want to start concepting. Now I love the finished render, but I'm a fan of that first image!
And everyone is right. The Devs should have contacted you by now. I always said you had that kind of talent and potential to make it commercially. Can't wait to team up with Nova. Haven't a clue with whom though!

Ed the toughest part is going to be OK with not using our CoT concepts for our projects my friend, lol! But I'm very happy with Nova. Just need to roll on his backstory. Already started on a villain which should be done in a few days.
Whatever you come up with will be fantastic. Can't wait to 'hit the streets', with ya!
I'm still flattered that you think I could work well for MWM. To be honest though if I didn't have my own project I would be working for ArclightComics or Lighthouse Studio.
You can bet on more City of Titan fan art though.

Nice work as always Tim, you've come a long way since the COH Guru days when I first saw your stuff. But everything is exceptional.

I won't go into a in depth tutorial. (Some things an artist just needs to keep to himself :) )
But for this image the fire is about 5 layers of various "warm" colors blended and erased with 50% opacity. Then I add a blue tint to it. When I finished one side of the flames mounting over his shoulder I saved those layers as a PNG file, rotated it and pasted to go over the other arm. Then smudged more so the flame looked a little more unique but kept the shape as its emitted from the same source. (Energy disc over shoulder)
