Okay lets get our red side some action. This is about a rouge/thief style RP about robbing the Museum of history in Titan City. There be heroes showing up (when don't they) or maybe they don't if we are cleaver enough. This about a story line a few of us starting. The target would be a staff with a magical Orb at the end held in the hands of a statue of Loki. Of course there no reason not to swipe anything else.

Good news for red side: She's likely to be headed home long before any appropriate time to be heisting the Museum. Also, she doesn't have her staff yet, so her combat power level is still rather low.
Any one living at The Whitehold (do any villains live there?) might know where she works, and that she is something of an expert on things magical. Let me know if anyone tries to pick her brain ^_^

Jeremy reminds me a lot about my early drafts of Rotten. Thought I went supernatural in origins. I really did try to leave Rotten back in Paragon, but I couldn't Unlike the other Alts he's more me then them. Two questions have occurred to me.
First is, what is the Museum's policy on photography? My guess would be "No Flash Photography", but I can see (for any of a number of reasons, some of which are less likely in a Museum of History) a "No Photography" policy being in place.

The second question comes with a warning: Hypatia plans to take a good Look at the Exhibit. Anyone who is in the hall while she's doing so may have their aura noticed. Of course, just because someone has a strong aura doesn't necessarily mean anything, and most auras change over time enough that Hypatia can't use them for long term identification.
But if anyone thinks their character's aura (or their characters' auras) might be distinctive enough for Hypatia to notice, please let us know.
Related to this is the question of what Hypatia might find out about the items in the exhibit. Things like age, religious significance, enchantment of mortal origin (divine enchantments might be less noticeable ^_^), rough numbers of people seeing the item in the exhibit and going "ooh, that's cool!"
BTW, Teekay is very lucky Hypatia stopped to talk to the guard at the door, and still has her shields mostly up. Active use of psionics would be something that she would notice ^_^

Ah ok I must have missed. Your character would be able to notice a strong magical spiritual aura in shepherd if he is not masking it. Only time he will mask it is when undercover.

The Artifacts in the Norse Exhibit is from about 1300s the end of the Old Norse time period and the start of the Little Ice age. What I figured is no FLASH photography in some areas a full No photography all together. I been to some places like that.
As for Julia she's a normal human woman in her early 20s might notice she's nervous and intimidated. Scarlet a tricky one she's somewhat childish and crazy almost to the level of the Joker she just enjoys being a bad girl she's also a natural Mutant CoH AT type Stalker.

Jeremy is not directly involved in the heist, just TeeKay (reveal, he always uses aliases that have the initials T and K but never will reveal if it's his real name or not.)
Ludo's will have a backstory place post later, keep an eye out for that. Basics, the place looks ANTIQUE. Lots of Victorian era steam powered mechanics, there is NOTHING digital and it's cash-only. The idea came to me as a place where someone that would frequently break electronics could work combined with the concept of the Luddites from CoV, hence the name Ludo's.
There is more I have planned between TeeKay and Jermy. Don't want to show all my cards too early though!

The Orb is magical but it's dormant. Might be able to be seen aura wise. The Orb that changed rotten was activated by the man he was stealing it from. The one Frost has he activated himself.
Other items could also be magical in nature, but remember they are on display to the public so deemed not a risk. However some marked Unknown artifacts found in the same location could have auras of items from another dimension mostly spears and assorted weapons. They would be weapons from the Frost Giants so would seem larger then human weapons and been confused as display items decorations.

This would be the first time Hypatia has Looked at objects made Elsewhere. So she's not sure what she's Seeing ^_^.
I'm thinking if the Orb was noticeably magical, folks like the [url=http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/missingworldsmedia/the-phoenix-project-city-of-titans/posts/649183]Arcane Sentinels[/url] would already be looking to identify and maybe neutralize it. So if it is magical, someone's probably put a cloaking spell on it, sort of a chameleon effect so it Looks like it belongs with everything close to it. And while Hypatia is a fairly skilled witch for a 23 year old, anyone involved with hiding a object that's part of a set that includes something called "The Eye of Odin" is likely to be more skilled.

Given this is an Orb tied to Loki deception and manipulation would be logical. I have half a mind to have the real Orb IN the statue rather then the one mounted on the staff. However that might be taking things to far. The fact the Orb can cloak magic and such is logical so that could be that orbs power deception and cloaking. Being able to hide things in plan sight and sheathing boost.

OK, so Hypatia will probably be blindsided by the Orb being magical, if it is activated. Meanwhile, she'll be trying to get a line on the giant weapons.
I'm not sure yet whether Karhythadrizsa will be This Guy, or an Agent, or just a BFF (depends on which perk fits best, once the Surveying gets going ^_^) or what her full story will be, but for now, she's a small dragon with a lair under the Central Library. She doesn't claim the Library as her hoard, but she does help keep track of their books, and helps to defend the Library and its patrons when Fishmen attack ^_^. She's not likely to be doing anything more in this story than providing Hypatia with information and a Look at an extradimensional book for comparison to the giant weapons, unless the things Mr. Frost needs turn out to be at the library.

There are two Orbs left to figure out where they are. Thor's Orb that has sonic abilities attached to it. Ant the orb for Tyr is a god associated with law and heroic glory in Norse mythology.

You know what I enjoy most about RPing is how a character you sure you understand evolves. When I started this thread I was sure I was bring in Scarlet Phantasm a woman villain of mine who was once a Skull Boyfriend but went and got her own form of death magic.
That not the scarlet that appearing in this thread. Now I'm sitting here designing a new outfit and trying hammer out this Scarlet's back story.

Okay this is what I'm thinking. TeeKay already got the pose to be involved. So if the Titans Legacy goes and alerts the Museum Curator about the danger the thieves would get the heads up. This oddly would make the plan easier to swipe the staff given it be the only item to be transported to a safe location.
So what you guys think?

It sounds plausible.
BTW, here are some possible reasons why Hypatia could suddenly sense the dormant power in the orb:
1: Being clued in by the Titans' Legacy, she "went active", analogous to a sonar operator just using hydrophones, then letting off some pings when something not-fishy is heard.
2: Something Ron and/or Lady Nova did shut down the orb's protections, probably only temporarily.
3: Ron's orb and the Loki orb are interfering with each other (which may mean Hypatia is about to find out how much power is behind Ron ^_^)

So is that an argument against choice 3, or for it? I can see it going either way, depending on how much Loki was holding back from the other Aesir. Also, I noticed that it was Lady Nova and [I]Shepard[/I], not Ron, who initially commented on the orb's power. Although Shepard seems to be mystic enough for any two supers ^_^
I think we'll go with #1, which means that if Talon over there in the corner has any mystic/psi senses of her own, Hypatia has just revealed she's not just this young woman drawing in the museum.

TeeKay will certainly be tipping off any news or development that the staff would get moved, but that's not be all he'll do about it. To put it in the 3-axis morality chart planned for CoT, he's as dishonorable as can be. He's pretty chaotic and violent as well.
It's been hard to RP without direct conflict and/or a patsy to be the victim, so I wan to clarify something about TeeKay. In CoV, he as a gravity/psionics dominator which has evolved in CoT that the gravity control is now puppeteer powers and his psionics assault is mental-state projection. In summary, his talents are he can make a weaker minded person perform an action and then project doing the action has made them happy. If I go too far for comfort I'll edit down and leave more for open interpretation, because I know concocting his levels of immorality get pretty dark in my own head.

I'd have to differ to Rotten on the detach ability of the orb from the staff. At my count there are at least 3 staffs and 4 orbs floating about. The real one is packed away in a crate, one fake is packed in a crate, one is on the statue in the exhibit, and AN orb is in Shepherd's hands.
I'd assume if the orb can't be detached, shepherd's is a clone copy meant to be an additional deception countermeasure, and if it's the real orb then TK has the advantage of knowing where it is.

There was a big fire in my neighborhood and our power has been proactively shut off due to the fire threatening a telephone pole.... O_O

The staff would be an old style gem mount claw like thick. Yeah the orb could be removed but not without braking one of the holding claws.

The fire was 4 blocks away caused by some cars sliding into a pole due to the ice. Got power back early morning.

Magical means could bypass the metal. Teleport item so it works.
I'm trying to think if the Orb would react and start casting illusions. Given it responded to Shepherd power and done what he wanted it to then it could be keyed to him. Hence he can use it freely like how Frost can use the Eye of Odin to affect peoples minds.

Haha since TeeKay moved the knowledge to the now-dead guard (and can no longer get to it) it would depend on how skilled and watchful talon is in a highly lit restoration lab...which only lasts until someone gets the bright idea to shuffle staffs and crates around to further distract real from fake...

I'm not sure who that Janitor is, but I have my suspicions ^_^. And, ATM, I'm not sure whether Hypatia's inability to see Ron, Shepherd, or The Janitor in her dream and in her subsequent scrying attempt was the result of the Orbs and/or The Janitor protecting their privacy, or something else protecting Hypatia from being noticed scrying on them. Other suggestions for inspiration for Loki: The Mask as portrayed by Jim Carrey (another Loki manifestation, come to think of it), and Q (from ST:TNG and sequels, not from Fleming).

And may I add that if someone pulled a stunt like a CITYWIDE blackout, the grid would probably be back up in minutes, perhaps a building wide blackout is much more viable? :)

forcing your actions to be retconned? just had the police send some drones from a previous rp since there are metas in the area. You can still keep doing what you are doing with the cops..

No the drones were robots that Lord Knightmare's character created for the police department.in an rp back in November. figured since a couple months passed since that rp. the TCPD would have those drones by now.

The rp may be on the second page When Shepherd and Sin were separate Sin had ghost create some assassin drones based on them. i am considering having the Sin character as My main since he is a darker shade of grey than Shepherd I dunno yet but i'm considering it now. real life criminal wise Sin reaper would be like Al Capone.
