Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

One game

I wish instead of going separate ways and all different a dimensions, that every super hero game "spiritual successor of City of Heroes" would just ban together, put all their efforts together and create something together. Now we have 3 games being developed and it's splitting the talent up, splitting player base up and splitting the resources (money, art, time) up.

With these 3 coming, we'll still have DCUO, Marvel Heroes (barely since lacking custom characters) and CO. So 6 super hero mmos? I wish there was just one, one big mmo that has everyone in it.

Worldpeace ....Oye.....

I've actually thought about

I've actually thought about the 3 "spiritual successors" of CoH in terms of how the various dominations of Christianity have split off over the years.

I'm not trying to equate an MMO like this to religion per se, but it is interesting how a group of people who supposedly started off supporting "one vision" of a goal (in this case a new version of CoH) tend to quickly devolve into factions who fundamentally disagree over how to reach that goal. Based on this we might have to consider ourselves lucky we only splintered into 3 main camps instead of like a dozen or more.

Yes I suppose it would be nice if the 3 successors could agree to compromise and pool their resources for a chance at a better unified game. But at this point we (the hopeful future players) are forced to back whichever of the 3 you think has the best chance for success and hope for the best.

Lothic, I'm with you.

Lothic, I'm with you.

Love that analogy of Christianity. It's so true. And in a way, all the money that CoT raised, It almost skewed the funding for Valiance Online and Heroes&Villains. Let's say someone donated 500$ to CoT. I doubt they will want to donate another 500 to Valiance or Heroes&Villains. Let's unite!

I wonder where they got the name City of Titans from. When I heard City of Titans, I thought of Giants, big monsters, Greek mythology. Then tried to remember it's like Teen Titans, the children's show on cartoon network....which is weird too.

"Cast off the shoes; follow

"Cast off the shoes; follow the gourd!"

I figured it was called City of Titans to honour the Titan Network for its work supporting CoX when it was still live, and for helping to hold our community together after the demise. (http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/)

Actually that is good. Titan

Actually that is good. Titan Network is to City of Heroes as mmo-champion is to World of Warcraft.

Would be nice, but like

Would be nice, but like mentioned before just so many different opinions on how things should go. Even within CoT there's different opinions on which way to go.

When I wrote my first post in this thread I not only thought of this quote but almost worked it into my response. I guess the only thing that stopped me was that I didn't know how many of the younglings would get it. ;)

Of the 3 "spiritual successors" I currently think CoT has the best chance to succeed. Despite that I'd hate to come right out and say the folks who are currently supporting Valiance Online and Heroes & Villains should just give up and join the CoT bandwagon right now because I understand there are legitimate ideological differences between the approaches. Beyond that it might just boil down to the leaders of the three groups simply not liking each other and thinking they "know better" what it'll take to accomplish the goal. Tribal politics are always going to happen in large enough groups like this.

Perhaps in 6 to 12 months from now it'll be undeniably clear which of the 3 camps has the best chance to move forward and hopefully the followers of the other two will graciously concede that for the betterment of the community as a whole. In the long run it'll be better if we're all supporting one grassroots bandwagon (warts and all) instead of 3 semi-competing ones.

Projects can fail for all

Projects can fail for all kinds of unpredictable reasons -- personal, technical, financial. I think the applicable saying here is 'Don't put all your eggs in one basket'.

Based on reading the threads

Based on reading the threads related to each effort on the cohtitan forums, it seemed like the splits were not only unavoidable, but ultimately desirable. It will be remarkable if any one of them manages to deliver on an actual spiritual successor (as opposed to just delivering another superhero MMO, which would be pretty amazing itself, but not what I am hoping for), but it didn't seem like trying to keep disparate visions together was going to make achieving that goal more likely. As to the impact the separation has on us, as the potential supporters and potential playerbase, that is up to each of us to decide. I am happy with what I have seen in MWM's approach thus far, but I am following the other projects, and if they can start delivering a vibe that makes me similarly hopeful, I won't have any issues with supporting them (to whatever extent my 'support' is actually worth something).

If nothing else, three teams

If nothing else, three teams are going to end up learning a whole bunch of stuff about management, leadership, direction, art, gaming, designing, animation, physics..
That's good for the community overall imho. Unless there's any real animosity between individuals and teams, when someone suddenly needs a story or some assets updating, there's a pool of people out there who have the ability if not the inclination to help.

If people won't pay enough to finance its creation, it is not worth creating.
