Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Forums vs. IE, FF, Chrome and Safari

Christopher Robin and I noticed (it's a long story how exactly, so I'll save you the trouble from going through that) that the forum is best shown in Internet Explorer.

Whenever someone using FireFox or Chrome or Safari, puts up a post and edits it afterwards, the edits won't show on anyone elses computer but theirs and only in the brower they made the edit in.
Only the edits made in Internet Explorer work for everybody else.
We tested this on all the browers mentioned.
Though there may be a timer on it, before the edits made outside IE show.
We have yet to confirm this by checking some edited posts later on or tomorrow.

Basically what it means is that the forum doesn't work well with other browers besides Internet Explorer.
You may want to have a look at that.

Thanks in advance!

Keep up the good work!

No wonder it's a balky, inconsistent MESS when it comes to performance!

There's a plan in place that will be fixing that.

And I certainly hope it does something about changing the text color to strawberry. :P

Interesting. I just tried this out. The first edit I made showed up, but the second one I did disappeared.

Also, when I went to delete the last post so I could put a clean one in, it asked if I wanted to delete the comment that Zombie Man made.

Unfortunately, in this limited (and thankfully temporary) circumstance, it's actually a "good" recommendation.

Meaning that the majority of people use what is given to them by default so IE will be the window that many people experience this site through. Yes good point.

Interesting to note that Chrome (according to some data aggregating sites) is now the most used browser on the net having only just surpassed IE in the last few months. We tried Chrome in our testing (DD mentioned Safari but meant Chrome as none of us have a Mac to test with) and it also did not receive updates made in Waterfox, Firefox or IE but IE did see the updates made in Chrome.

DD's text would be less special if everything was pink on here.
I therefore suggest you set about making it all orange. Sure it will make my posts seem a bit more pedestrian... but I have awesomeness to spare.
All kidding aside when the updates are made I'm voting for the slate blue background the old forums had, the white is a bit glaring.

First edit on my character post was on IE, second was on my android phone (MetroPCS, if that helps you identify the browser). I checked on it this evening on IE again, only the title had changed :(

So I was curious and looked at this thread in IE. I had no idea so many people posting here had avatar pics! And Darth Delicious has a signature image! They are not showing up for me in FF.

----- This line indicates where my signature begins, because the forums don't do it themselves -----

No signature yet!

Using FF, can see Darths signature image (when it loads).

For me, it is entirely hit and miss if peoples avatars/signatures will load up. Although image links in posts are generally fine.

Same here. And it's on a page-load by page-load basis that the avatar pics show up (my own included)... sometimes I'll get into a thread and they're there, other times, I'll go back to the very same thread, and nothing.

Not that I'm implying any rush. Feel free to take all the time needed to go from prototype to shooting the engineers.

However, there is still a point in time, where even if the *look* isnt quite right, as long as it *works* it should be rolled out.

The reason why I say this, is that due to problems with the forums already, there are people out there who have just given up using these.

Is it impatience? Thats possible, but remember that a lot of time, first impressions are the most important.

But when you can roll out a basic set of forums within *minutes* of getting a domain name, that has fewer problems than these ones (sure, it might not *look* right, but that can be worked upon), questions have to be raised about how reliable these ones actually are.

I have a feeling that part of the problem might well be due to the servers that they are on (especially if edits are getting reverted after a period of time).

Hell, I have seen posts *out of date order* here (only once, but its happened), posts that I have previously viewed, showing up as "new posts".

I also *dislike* with a huge passion the fact that a thread will show as "updated", but there is NO smegging way to jump direct to that "updated/edited" post. Or to even tell which post it is.

*snip*

Or as the old adage puts it, "In every project there comes a time to shoot the engineers and put the $$$$ thing into production." Which was what I was alluding to. Another one I like is "The 'perfect' is the enemy of the 'good enough'".

Oh, and Lin, unless you're one of the programmers working on the forum update, you can come out of hiding. It does no good to shoot engineers on other projects. ^_^

Things are different down in your neck of the woods. Here, when the "Mad Engineer" goes into hiding, the rest of us stop what we're doing and carefully back our way out of the building. Before they disappear, they leave behind booby traps, decoys, and alarms arrayed in a way that would terrify Rube Goldberg.

"I'm coverin' up my head."

P.S. There's a perfect scene in Wings of Honneamise for this. The chief engineer and astronaut are watching a rocket engine test. The engine's burning away at full power. Both are standing there, blast goggles on, watching behind a row of sandbags.

Then the engine stutters, with no thrust for a fraction of a second, before resuming its burn. The astronaut looks over to the engineer to ask what that was, and notices the engineer is no longer there. Turning around completely, he sees the engineer hauling ass for the bunker behind them, and follows.

Cut to outside the test building, some distance away. Wait a beat, and the whole building explodes.

Has anyone seen my mind? It was right here...
