Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

If the SG size limit is under 150, I definitely see that as an interesting dilemma, we would have to name our teams like The Phoenix Rising Raiders/Zombies etc lol And on the note of polls, there could possibly be such an option at the SG base itself, where we could bring up surveys on a computer(in the base in the game) and view a database of relevent SG action items and vote on them. And with that being said, you could also have an event database that is up for 24/7 view that would allow anyone to see what SG events are happening at what time, such as a CC at 6. And even go beyond that and have requests for help(example, need help fighting a boss or beating a misssion). And even beyond that you could schedule meetings with a certain level of the SG members (Leaders. Founder, Members etc) that would only be able to be viewed by the level of members that it is for. Also, you could possibly have it where you could make those event's post at only your SG database or all or select coalition bases as well

Could even have something simple like Phoenix Rising West, Phoenix Rising North. But those aren't very imaginative. ;)

I like those ideas about an SG database/poll computer in the base. Sounds like something that should be suggested to MWM. :)

I'm hoping that if there is an SG size limit, it's around 500 (or 250 at the very least)... which, if I remember correctly is what they increased it to in CoX at one point.

CO actually has an event scheduler built into the group management GUI, which I thought was pretty neat. it actually allows for all the things you mentioned except polls. You can set a minimum group rank for an event/meeting, but I don't think it hides the event from anyone who doesn't qualify, and I'm not sure it would be a good idea to hide it anyway. Transparency is the best policy, IMO.

It's all well and good to have a closed meeting, but members should at least be aware that there IS a meeting even if they're not all invited. I'm of the opinion that closed meetings should be very rare, if they happen at all. Although something like that would possibly be used to settle things like player disputes and could be acceptable in that regard, or other edge cases. Overall, It would be great if they implemented an event scheduler system here, and expanded it to include the group polling.

I really like that idea... but since it wouldn't be something we can implement ourselves at the group level (I.e. needs to be coded into the game) unfortunately it may not happen, at least not right away... But that doesn't mean we can't push for it! Muhahahaha-aha-*cough*-hah-*cough*-aha.... *wheeze*

(clears throat) *Ahem* What I'm saying is... @kiyori - Would you like to make up an outline/proposal of the features you'd like to see in an event scheduler/polling system for the "Suggestions and Ideas" thread? I think that would be awesome! You could link it here when finished and we can all join in the discussion over there.

Just checkin in ya'll... I

Just checkin in ya'll... I really like the idea of having a council. Here's kidna what I was picturing this whole time :

Phoenix Rising isn't really an SG... More of a Co-Op Coalition between villains & heroes...

The Phoenix Rising 'Base' can kinda be like our own personal 'Pocket D' and Per Ignim would be like our DJ Zero. It's his space, but we're allowed to use it for meetings for the council members & their officers of BOTH Red & Blue factions & as a general hang out spot for all of the members of their corresponding SG's...

The council members would be the Leaders of all of the SG's that were here for the 'founding' of the Phoenix Rising Initiative &, of course, Per Ignim, to forsee all going-ons. That way, the leaders of Phoenix Rising can still retain their old SG's & members from CoH days, but still be part of this whole deal. I'm guessing that we might be able to do a sort of Phoenix Rising label in our SG's names, if we choose to do so... Like a tag at the end in astrics or something along those lines.

On to the mustard... some cool discussion going on here :) ...and that is one crazy building, Kiyori!

The council idea could work, and really important QoL decisions would need to involve a wider audience, but as suggested there would have to be a way to resolve any critical decisions quickly without getting tied up in red tape.

Well... We could have set council meeting dates and times... like once or twice a month, and all concerns within those time frames can be brought to the table to be discussed XD

@dreamcatcher: QoL decisions

@dreamcatcher: QoL decisions are one of those things that I personally see as going to a poll like @BruceP and @kiyori mentioned. Critical decisions are a different animal, I would personally make an argument that having a council of members is more beneficial to deal with these types of issues, as there will likely be at least one person online that will be able to make 'split decisions'... the catch being that decisions made in this fashion *may* fall under the scrutiny of the other council members (and possibly the entire group) to determine whether it was the best decision to be made at the time. I think that would protect both the system and the players, while allowing *some* decisions to be made in a timely fashion where required.

TL:DR - Council members should be allowed to make 'judgement' calls in a tight situation, but it should not be a common occurrence and decisions made in this fashion are subject to review by the rest of the council and/or members to ensure best practices.

@The Bran: I think having regular meetings/events would be beneficial even if for no other reason than to promote activity within the group. But I agree having regular meetings to bring issues to the table should be a part of that too.

As a standard action we should have daily/weekly/monthly participatory events, whether it be to just run through a set of clue missions (a story arc) or something larger like a task force/raid. I expect that there may be a lot of meetings/polls in the beginning until everything gets settled (everything that can't be settled here on the forums before the game launches, that is).

Hi everyone,

Hi everyone,

Sorry I am a bit late posting here, I have mostly been lurking and listening.
I am planning to be @zoser in City of Titans with my main also named Zoser ... unless someone else is faster. :)

The idea of regular events is amazing and I will be sure to attend, providing the time difference allows it - I am one of the European CoH refugees after all.

@Kiyori: That is a very interesting suggestion. I like that it would have an effect on information for the entire community, whether solo or in a group. Let me be the first to say thank you for putting in the effort of writing it! I'll be sure to comment on it in the suggestion thread when I have a bit more time.

@Zoser: As Ebon said, Welcome! Glad to have you aboard. I can't speak for others, but I'm often online during European peak times and usually up for just about anything. That said, with a council based leadership system I'm hopeful it will be easier to accommodate a larger variety of schedules for events.

@Xander - Agreed; that's essentially what I was trying to say :)

@Zoser - also an EU player, but I think with the initial community mix we could easily manage PRI across all timezones, and it makes for more realistic supergrouping, as well.

We could have a 'day' group and a 'night' group, as it were.

This brings up a query for me,

first: Do we know how many colors the game will arbitrarily support for a group?

second: Have we determined what the groups 'colors' are going to be?

and third: How severely do we want to tie the groups colors into the website? (i.e. do we want to use ONLY sg colors, a blend of them with darker backgrounds, etc.

If it has not been decided and/or is unknown, perhaps a representative could PM a dev to get at least a base idea (no pun intended) what we will have to work with. Personally I'd like to see up to a 4-color scheme available.. barring that, and limiting it to 2 colors... I'd prefer something that reflects the symbolism of 'the phoenix' without being too one sided... red is overplayed IMO and I'd much like to have a fairly unique color scheme. Here are a few suggestions in case it hasn't been decided:

sticking with 2-color scheme for now:

White/Orange - looks good together, orange would likely be on the darker side for contrast, both heroes & villains look good in white)

Gray/Orange - again, looks good together, simulates the dual aspect of the phoenix (ashes & fire), can use different 'shades of grey'

Seriously, we're in the embryo stages at the moment. As BruceP said, Xander's the first one to even bring all this up. First step is, I think, to figure out what we're going to do with the website, then we can take the next step and figure out what it's going to look like.

As for the colors ... we tentatively have a logo ... I think we should take the colors from there.

BTW ... @Per Ignim or BruceP: Is the logo still tentative, or is it going to be our in-game logo? If it is, we can start thinking about SG colors based on it right now ...

I think there is almost too

I think there is almost too much going on with option 2. I very much like it for what it is, but as an emblem I think there is a little too much for a symbol. My vote would be option 1, not only for the simplicity but because it looks like a bird in the midst of taking off, i.e. rising.

Maybe we should use a chameleon in a cowboy hat instead.

It's kinda crazy that there's

It's kinda crazy that there's already a website for this when the game itself is 2+ years out... That's 2+ years of web hosting to pay for before things even start. Anyway, good job so far, I just wanted to give you some pointers on the off chance that you don't already know them:

Wordpress is a rather nice platform. It's big and popular, and has lots of support. Just make sure to keep it and any plugins you use up to date. Sometimes it seems like I see a new Wordpress or Wordpress plugin exploit every day, it's really quite something.
Make backups. Backup the files. Backup the database. Backup all the things. Make the backups as often as you can. Hold on to backups as long as it is feasible. Make sure the backups work. Backup the backups in case of hard drive failure.
Use a password manager. Ensure that all high privilege passwords (hosting login, FTP login, site administration login etc.) are UNIQUE (used NOWHERE else, ever, not even on the same site), long (as long as they are allowed to be), and randomly generated (with upper case and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols). Insist that anyone else with access to the website in any position moderator or above follow these guidelines as well. Really, everyone should follow these guidelines for all passwords, but people can't be bothered. I personally recommend Lastpass for this purpose due to ease of use and high security. If you would like potentially higher security with less convenience, try Keepass.

There's probably more but it's late and my brain is off at the moment.

Source: I went to college for what is best described as "computer stuff", I ran a tiny website for a while, and computer security is a hobby of mine.

I did some interesting things

I did some interesting things with orange/red/yellow themes in CoX for some alts; Sun Kali in particular was largely orangey; when we're done moving house, and my Pc is setup again, circa 13th Nov, I'll see if I have any screenies of her I can post / link to.

FYI, my main will never wear orange or be fire-themed. I could modify my usual black to burnt black, perhaps, and go for fiery hair... I'll keep it in mind. However, for RP'ers (not me) I'm assuming we're not going to shoehorn people into anything.

I would hope not. Of course, I do hope they have the SG-outfit settings, like CoH had, where you could incorporate the SG colors and icon to your liking ...

So. Many. Posts. Brings me back to trying to keep up with all the threads in the CoX forums, goods times. Anyways, ShoRyu Kusanagi, Enforcers of Phoenix Rising reporting in. I have to agree with Ebon, I do hope that they have SG settings on colors, but I also hope that they makes some good improvements with SGs in general because there was a lot there that people didn't care for.

Hi Freedom! Welcome to the forums and (back) to the community. I am not one of the creators/admins of the group, but here's what I know.

This group started as an initiative to raise a little extra money during the Kickstarter. Basically, a person could choose their reward tier, than bump up their pledge amount by $5 or more, and that got you in the group. No current benefits save for choosing a clever little "*blank* of the Phoenix Rising Initiative" title, but I suppose it sort of became the "cool kids club" and many people wanted in. It really took off, as evidenced by this topic.

As for the future, this will definitely be some kind of group in City of Titans, but "what" remains undefined (super group, coalition, etc.). I don't know what the policy is or will be regarding new members, considering the original method of joining is now impossible, but I'm sure there will be a way to join (maybe as easy as, "You want in? You're in!"). Just not sure what it is yet :)

An update for Phoenix Rising

An update for Phoenix Rising members (or anyone else, really) who may not have joined us on Facebook or the PRI website (http://www.phoenixrisinginitiative.com/)

As stated in my post here: http://www.phoenixrisinginitiative.com/forums/topic/phoenix-rising-unlimited/ , I’ve created a guild in Tera Online for us to play together and have some teaming fun while waiting for CoT to launch. The name of the guild is “The Unlimited”… without hyphens of course.

If you’d like to join me, you can send me a PM or just apply to the guild in-game using the chat command “/apply The Unlimited”. When you apply to the guild it lets you add an “applicant message”. Please put “Phoenix Rising” or “PRI” as the message.

I’m pretty familiar with most of the systems etc. now, so I’ll be happy to help you get started if you don’t have any experience in the game. Our group, and me of course, can be found on the Tempest Reach server and I've been on a fair amount recently. looking forward to seeing you there!

P.S. The Tera group is open to anyone here, Phoenix Rising or not, so come join us!

Regards,
D. A. Cross
CEO of Phoenix Rising

So you decided to do that by necroing a thread that had been dead for over 4 years? I suppose that's one way to do it. ;)

If you literally haven't posted/lurked on this site for that long then welcome back. I think it's safe to say MWM is much closer to releasing something Soon™ than they were 4+ years ago...

For what it's worth I don't seriously care about necroposting myself (especially on this forum) but I know there are other forums that have hyper-strict rules about it. Some will actively lock threads if anyone "necros" a thread that's been quiet for even a few weeks let alone 4+ years.

Theoretically if this game ever launches this forum might actually become "actively moderated" for once. Stranger things have happened. ;)

P.S. Also if you never "went anywhere" then you'd already know how active this forum is and who typically spends time on it. Just saying...
