City of Heroes generated several Internet radio stations and podcasters. I think it would be neat if we can list them all and determine which are still active and which unfortunately are now shuddered.

I wanted to broadcast for The Cape, but when they were looking I ha a pile of RL issues to deal with. Always wished I'd been able to get in there. had my own station for a while oh... 2005-ish, and got a total of 12 listeners XD It was only active for a month before my compy murdered itself one night. Here's to hoping that if a new station starts up for CoT, I'll be able to sneak my way in there 8D

I'd be happy to start a blog, fansite, radio, whatever... but would anyone be willing to help out with it? Staff it? I'd like to participate of course, but I can't do it all by myself. Have to have participation (and permission to use CoT images, etc. get some interviews, and so on) for it to get anywhere and do any good once it gets tweeted around.

They had Dr Tyche on, as well as other discussions regarding COH and the new CoT effort.
Not sure if they'll be a routine event, or if that was just a one-time thing. But the recording is still up on the site.

I've been building websites since the web graduated from text. :) However out of all the flash, streaming media, video, etc. I've yet to do a radio station so I'm interested in getting one going. Ok so looks like things may be coming together. I've got a couple of ideas on the whole radio / podcast side of things so let me work that out first and then I'll have to decide on website build after that. I'll get back here on that in a bit.

Yeah I'm all ready to get this started... and I've even got some radio contacts raring to go as well. I don't however want to start trampling on toes or causing undue misunderstandings here.
Anyone have contacts at The Cape Radio to see about getting DJ Dee and KaosKitteh, whoever it is that Ellysyn is referring to coming over as well, getting airtime. How much airtime is available... days of the week, hours, etc.?
I'm capable of embedding any kind of streaming into the website and providing links for various players to people that visit the site.
Z Knight has an available radio stream with plenty of air space, and I've got the means to start a SHOUTCast cloud radio setup for auto and live that DJ's can remote into from wherever.
I'm with paragon broadcasting and not the cape. I can deal with that myself.

Yeah I realize that - which is why I was asking about The Cape since it was brought up earlier. Since it hasn't been again. I'm still researching. Nothing will happen overnight, but I've gotten a couple of domain names set aside and the wheels are turning. :)

I'll send this thread to one of the GMs over at Cape Radio. Maybe they can come over and post or something. Like I said, I'm not sure on what their plans are about CoT. I only know that at least one DJ may be heading over here but not sure if their shows will be here once the game launches .

I have been with (over the years) Last Stand Radio/Evolution Radio (European base CoX station), MMO Radio (US based general gaming), Total Gaming Radio (EU based small general gaming), New Eden Radio (Eve Online based station).
Think I might have done a stint with a few others, but haven't done it for several years.
Wow. Sounds like we've got willing people for shows!! I have a decent radio voice so I will pitch in as well. Lights out for me for now, but thanks for all the support. I'm excited to get something together. I'll endeavor to get a website going here in the next few days and post the link here and start getting input from everyone. Once we can all agree (or agree to disagree lol) on the overall look and feel, and we can get the radio stream all set and decided on, we'll give it a go.

Ok. Website domain is purchased and I've got a website banged out into rough form. I'm going to be doing some behind the scenes stuff over the next few days so hold tight, then I will release the hounds on it and await the barrage of changes that everyone wants made, ignore most of them, LOL, and make the ones I can. It will probably be a bit before everything is up and going with complete functionality, broadcast going, etc. but we're getting closer now that I understand more of what is going on.
We are doing our own broadcast station. NamesakeRadio. After some 'market research' with about 20 people, it was apparent that we needed a hero/villain, good/evil, and project neutral name. I figure this is about as neutral as it gets and could apply to any subject matter that exists really. So if somebody wants to have an Wine Tasting discussion some night well then... go ahead. lol
Give me some feedback on the station name. It is already in place, but if there are too many complaints I can shell out for another name in a couple of weeks.

xD MMO RADIO!!!!! As a DJ or a listener? I was part of the writing team for awhile when it was paragon radio and then went to mmo radio. I wrote several of the in game news stories for it. Couple of the DJs used to read them on the air. ^_^

Radio Paragon changed their name to Radio4Gamers (http://www.radio4gamers.com/), but they're still out there. They've taken a more general-gaming approach in the post-CoH era, but Dirty still hosts Tanker Tuesdays from Millennium City.
I was a DJ for them... I wasn't there for *all* that long, but if i remember correctly, it was just as Lineage Radio kicked off (and then of course, there was the collapse of MMORadio that happened soon after I left....
((If you were in the IRC channel, I am still in touch with Impius, ALmighty Bracket, Fellaris, Sirrush, Drachaos, Mimosa Kitten... that is if you remember those guys)
Ahh. Then I was gone before you showed up then. Sadness. But still cool to see someone from MMORadio. I still have pretty much all the stuff I wrote for them. Always thought it would come in handy some day.
