Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

I am a RP'er, PVP'er, and PVE'er..... sometimes at the same time, more often I dedicate a few hours of my play week to each style.

I have always hated the "us vs them" mentality that seems to separate parts of those 3 communities... since i feel like I belong to all three at the same time.

The idea that I can be in Downtown to RP, int he RP version of downtown and when I am done I can hop over to the PvP version of downtown without getting my kill on and ruining someone elses RP is great. I can see the same faces in PvE that I see in PvP or RP but in a different context.

I have never been one to say my play style should be forced on all. I think your solution lets all play styles exist, but non has to dominate.

So - if I understand

So - if I understand correctly - this is pretty much the Champions/Star Trek online model of one big world but with different instances of the same zones - so like Phoenix Plaza #1, Phoenix Plaza #3 (RP), Phoenix Plaza #6 (PVP)... and so forth? With everyone still able to communicate via chat and able to switch? If so - cool.

That is also my understanding of how they hope to make the instancing work.

A general chat channel that crosses all instances is a must and something people will expect, while PvP and RP channels specific to those instances would be a useful addition.

What about General chat.

What about General chat. will that be for everyone regardless of zone to see? and Zone chat is just the people in atlas or in an instance. Is that how its all gonna work. ^_^ Will I get to see the chat from all of the SGs my account handle owns.

There may be options for this. Some players might choose to List ALL RP Chat, others might list Zone RP Only and so on. That way the PvPers can list PvP, All Zones and find opponents faster. PvE-ers can use the same thing to find teams with a 'PvE LFT All Zones' channel or something.

One of the best things (in a game full of best things!) about CoX was the chat system. To be able to pick which channels appear on a tab (and have multiple tabs), change the color of the channel, and map a key press to send on a particular channel was just priceless.

Is there a population per

Is there a population per instance cap decided yet before another one opens?

I cant remember if they said they were going to do open world missions or not but it would kind of suck having to go to for example the pvp shard to do a mission because the pve ones are full to the max making it near impossible to get open missions done to progress story.

yeah. and hopefully they pay close attention to the beta phase. Too many game makers go through the motions.

Then people ask "hey what is up with this bug?" Then the devs try to lie with "oh we didn't know about that bug." Which usually ends with some beta tester busting them out saying "No that is not true, everyone and their momma on beta reported and talked about that bug."

Then of ocurse it end up they cant fix it because it would break something else or some other excuse. Hopefully they take their time on the test phases and actually fix stuff that need to be fixed while it can be fixed.

One of the things I really want to see is seamless instancing.

For example, when my team (say 8 members) exits a mish I do NOT want to see a dialog asking which instance I want. Why can't the computer pick one that has room for the first player to exit and set that as the default for the rest of the team?

Yes, I want to have a drop down menu as part of the interface so I can move to any instance I choose, with dedicated PvP and RP instance(s) clearly labeled.

I'd also like a right click menu selection on names in chat so I can join the same instance as whoever I'm chatting with w/o having to ask them which instance they're in.

Well it probably should be computer chosen with enough room for then entire team. Or it end up the first person goes to instance one, followed by two it's full with those two and now the rest go other instances. And probably would be best if the specialized instances are removed from selection process. Nothing like a fresh unsuspecting 8 man team getting loading into the pvp instance and ganked on arrival as they load in one by one.

The chat server is independent of the instances so cross instance chat should be possible. And most likely instances will take teams into account and keep them together as you progress through things so you won't have teammates getting "lost in the nether".

Side note: progress and information of this sort about the game and the workings is more enjoyable for me to hear rather than the usual "We are doing this for the community by the community stuff." I like hearing about how plans are being made of how stuff will work. Keep it coming.

That was my intention. Grammar fail on my part.

Your point about the specialized instances is good as well.

Unless there are missions in PvP zones, then the team should only exit to a PvP zone.

I would like to see that if I am flagged to go to an rp side and my buddy is flagged pvp and he exits first... i get the option to be prompt with "do you want to exit to pvp?"

that way i dont leave an instance and go
"hey guys whats up..... OH MY GOD THE LASERS!!!!!!"
and fall over dead because I am logged in with an RP build character.

in Champoins Online, i recall one day getting very frustrated with the Zone chat, as i wasnt really seeing any actual chat happening, but lots and lots of content was being sent in Zone chat. It was those damn WTS and WTB messages with inventory items.

umm... could we by chance have a separate channel for the Market? PLZ!!!!???

Probably by having an 'exit to' field in the server data structure that keeps track of a team, which would periodically get updated with the index of the lowest-population instance of the origin zone, and when a team member exits the mission, either through the 'mission exit' button or via the entrance, they get sent to that zone, with the population updates halting as long as a team member is outside the mission (to keep teams from being scattered to different zones by, say, going to the hospital at different times).

I believe the general direction is, you will never be forced into PvP unless you specifically want to be able to.

I'm hoping for more like this

I'm hoping for more like this from the server setup. In "The Secret World" mmo you can team up with people in different instances/servers, etc. Once joining a team, you are asked if you want to 'port to their instance, and when you click that then you're there after a few seconds as long as it doesn't fill up the server. It's really nice to be able to team up with people without worrying about those pesky differences of location on a server drive.
