Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Me, my face, in the game.

How difficult would it be to set up an option in the character creator that uses one's webcam to scan a player's face, establish basic reference points for the eyes, nose, mouth, etc., and plug that into the face of the character? Then edit and refine it? For instance, I would want to scan in my fat ugly face then scale it down into what I would *like* to look like...too much information? I mean, what I'd like myself to look like if I were a character in a superhero mmo.

By way of Star Citizen I

By way of Star Citizen I learned of Infinite-Realities (NSFW - just to be safe). I'm sure this is a lot more than what you're asking for, at least so long as CoT's aesthetic doesn't lean toward ultra-realism, but it is one reason I'm inclined to think, "Not likely."

I figure scanning people's

I figure scanning people's actual faces into a game like this will become trivial and commonplace say 5 or 10 years from now. As far as this game goes (as of the state of software in 2013) I'd have to agree with Darth Fez in saying it's probably not likely just from the cost/difficulty standpoint.

I just realized, I think I

I just realized, I think I like the way City of Heroes handled it. There were a variety of faces to choose from, and then you could accentuate them as you wished (facial hair, goggles/sun glasses, hairstyle, etc). I just remembered that I don't like sliders and trying to make faces all different by degrees - they all wind up looking the same anyway (to me at least).

I think sliders are the way

I think sliders are the way to go, when done properly. In Star Trek Online (the only other MMO I've played significantly than CoH) there are base face types / skins (old, heroic, etc.) and then sliders. The sliders actually allow a LOT of freedom, and some people have been able to make fairly convincing Star Trek look-alikes. The thing is, they left out a few crucial sliders, like cheekbone height, which makes a lot of the faces somewhat similar. So I see what you're talking about as far as faces looking the same, but I think more sliders are the solution to that problem.

Plus, with sliders, you can make some very interesting head shapes, which is nice in a game that will have aliens.

It wouldn't be allowed unless

It wouldn't be allowed unless you contribute to the KS and they can make a separate face for you instead of a prop.

For NSFW reason, they should not allow this. People can upload photos of explicit imagery. And of course it only takes one moment of human error for that behavior to appear where someone would do it.

To be part of your future.

Well, even if "scan a picture

Well, even if "scan a picture, auto adjust game face to picture" isn't available, the more sliders the better!

Your face in the game is bad.

Your face in the game is bad. Why? Not because your face is bad, but because think of the griefing that could be done. What if your enemy wanted to make an idiot out of you the entire length and breadth of the game? THIS WOULD MAKE IT EASY. Plus we'd have people using celebrity faces, and just think of the incoming lawsuits.

Or maybe I am just paranoid.

Haha, Penny Arcade. I still

Haha, Penny Arcade. I still think people are overestimating the strength of the real person to computer thing conversion. I'm operating under the assumption that the face shape will be done with sliders, and that there will be certain facial textures that are just plopped on top of those sliders (which is basically what CoH had, but with newer tech it should be better). In Star Trek Online, this allows people to make pretty good facsimiles of Kirk, Bones, and Spock - they're recognizable, but not what you would call perfect, by any means. Close enough for a lawsuit? Maybe, but I'm sure there's legalese that makes sure the developers aren't responsible for it (and in the Foundry (their version of the Mission Architect) players sign a EULA saying they won't make likenesses, so if they do they're in trouble, not the devs).

Regardless, the point is that only the very best of motion capture technology can actually make a realistic likeness close enough. There was another game I don't recall that allowed people to put a picture of their face in the game and try to match the sliders to themselves, but it wasn't that great. The picture never actually ended up in game, so even if someone did upload something weird, it wouldn't work - plus there's no way to make facial sliders somehow morph to match the shape of something NSFW. And as for someone "making an idiot out of you", how would they get your photo?

Again, I'd like to reiterate

Again, I'd like to reiterate as I think I wasn't being very clear: I was thinking of a program that would scan your face and then set the sliders for you based on basic reference points: medial and lateral eye, nose and mouth points, chin, cheek and forehead height, width, etc., and then you can edit it as you see fit I wasn't thinking of outright putting a picture into the game. See, I'd like my face, but not my fat, jowly old fart face but my chiseled young heroic face.

Sorry, Rick, but when I read

Sorry, Rick, but when I read that the first thing that popped into my mind was facial recognition software, along with all that implies.

Too many cop shows and NSA scandals, I guess. <.< >.>

Yeah, I know. I'm good at shotgunning a post and not being very clear about my intentions, especially after having one lite beer at 8:30 at night.
