Real Name: Victor (Vic) Morgan
Rank: Colonel
Alias: Solar Guard

Powers: Reduced aging, heightened healing and reflexes, light/plasma-based energy blasts and shields..Flight via standard-issue Solar Guard flight boots.
Background:
Vic Morgan never expected his life to be easy. The middle son of three boys and two girls, he left school early to join up with the Army, lying about his age to get in. The Army offered three squares a day, he could send his paycheck home to help his family, and besides, the ratzis needed to be kicked out of Europe.
After a couple of years of slogging through the mud and sand of a score of battlefields, from Northern Africa to the
hedgerows of Europe, Vic figured he'd seen everything. Then one night his definition of 'everything' changed. His squad had been sent out to investigate what the brass thought might be the crash site of a failed German V-2 missile launch. what they found was no missile, but something unlike any of the men had ever seen outside the pages of one of those sci-fi rags.
A silver-green hulled vessel was half-buried in the ground, and a full company of Germans was busy trying to carve their way into it. An occasional flicker of energy erupted from what Vic could only assume was some kind of crashed rocket ship, but the Germans were making steady progress.
Making a split-second decision, Vic and his squad opened up on the Germans from the rear.
The next twenty minutes were a choice slice of hell. Vic saw his squad mates slowly fall around him, but they were taking a hell of a toll on the Germans in turn. As several bullets tore through his chest, he saw the last of the Germans fall to the odd energy burst, then all went black.
When Vic awoke, he was uninjured, hungry, and several thousand light years from Earth. His hosts, the occupants of the craft he and his squad had saved, explained that he was the only member of his squad that had still been alive after the battle.
Even he had been dying, but they had placed him within their emergency medical unit to save his life. Having no real data on humans the device had had to make some radical modifications to save him, but Vic was alive, well, and had a few extras thrown in for good measure.
When he asked about returning home, they regretfully informed him that their ship would not be returning to Earth's solar system for many years, it being just one stop on a regularly scheduled monitoring program, and it would be several more months before they next made port. By the time that the ship reached the port, Vic had resigned himself to the fact that it would be years, at best, before he could have a chance of returning to Earth.
En route to the port, Vic spent long hours in the hold working out and testing out the new abilities that had been grafted onto his DNA. The unnatural vitality and quickness was incredible enough, but the first time that he had a blast of light leap from his hands and scorch a packing crate had him jumpy for a week.
Light years from home, homeless, jobless, and alone in a galaxy of aliens, Vic did the only thing he could do. He enlisted. On the trip he'd read about the Solar Guard, an organization that was half-military, half-police force, and figured that with his unusual abilities, he was a shoe-in. And he was right. There was a little bit of confusion about his planet of origin, with Earth still being on the restricted list, but soon Vic Morgan was back in basic, among squad mates he'd have never imagined in his most insane dreams.
Seventy years later, Colonel Vic Morgan, one of the most highly decorated officers in the history of the Solar Guard, returned home.
I love it, look forward to RPing with you in the future....:)

Looking forward to it as well, Vic's a blast to play. :)

Very good origin! It's got a taste of Captain America but has really heavy vibes of Green Lantern. I look forward to fighting against you at launch >:)
Thanks! :) I always figured that Solar Guard got his hero name in a similar way to the Green Lanterns. He showed up on Earth, introduced himself as 'Colonel Morgan, Solar Guard' and the press took the 'Solar Guard' part and ran with it.
Reminds me more of the Nova Corp more than the Green Lantern Corp. Kool bio!

There's a good reason for that. Nova (Richard Rider) is one of my favorite Marvel heroes. :) The Nova Corps and the GL Corps have a lot in common, of course, and I drew a little from each as well as changing things up a bit to prevent the Guard from being too much of a copy of either.
Nova is one of my favs as well. I think the character really opened during the Annihilation and Annihilation Conquest series from Marvel a while back.

Very well planned through, I like it. The story catches the readers attention. Plus I love anything to do with a military background.
Keep Low. Move Fast. Kill First. Die Last. One Shot. One Kill. No Luck. Pure Skill.
Indeed. And his response to the whole Civil War storyline was one of the sanest by any hero. "You're warring among yourselves? Screw this, I have billions of people to save. Call me when you decide to be heroes again."
Well yeah he had that option and the responsibility to others. Have you been reading the Marvel Now! Nova? Its not bad, It reminds me a lot of the New Warriors Nova.

I haven't, I stopped reading both Marvel and DC some time ago. Both companies seemed just too eager to destroy their respective heroes.
When the term Civil War comes to mind I think of the 1800s, how it was for a greater good, to an extent. I haven't read the comic book versions of the civil war the heroes are fighting so I am clueless as to what context it is under, but from how it is being said it sounds like both sides aren't fighting for a bettering of the world.
Keep Low. Move Fast. Kill First. Die Last. One Shot. One Kill. No Luck. Pure Skill.
I think that was the reason why both DC and Marvel both hit the reset button on their universes. After years and years of material and stories being tacked on, these characters become bloated from past experiences. Starting fresh solves that. You can use the idealic version of said character but telling stories in a modern setting to a new generation. Of course though, the new Spiderman is the exception. Doc Oc took over Peters body and for the last year has been the Superior Spiderman! its a good read.

I know that they did some resetting, but some of the things I've heard about the resets (especially you, DC!) have been less than positive.
I did like the early Ultimate comcs. They were well-done, although as I understand it the quality decreased near the end.
