Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

AFTER KICKSTARTER - INCOME STREAM?

It’s excellent to see the Kickstarter going so well. Congratulations MWM on the Launch!
I hope we will reach and overshoot the goal – a lot of the projects in the games section usually do.
I asked a friend at MWM recently if there was a plan B. The rest is private.

I’ve been thinking if there is a way this project can raise continual income/funding after the Kickstarter, without all the nail biting that a KS launch involves.

OK. In the worst case, as of writing this, there were 30 days to go and we were $89834 short of target, but with the best intentions in the world, we failed – maybe by one lousy buck. As of today, 1611 people had pledged. If those 1611 people ALONE were to donate $18 (or whatever the sub was) on a monthly basis (as much as they did when they subscribed to CoX ), MWM would have a monthly income of $28998. That’s $347976 a year – a little more than they were seeking via Kickstarter!

In the best case, including surplus over stretch goals, at some time MWM might need to seek further funding, so the suggestion I am about to make is still valid.

My suggestion is that MWM investigate whether it is legally possible to attract further funding using Paypal (or any other medium), on a voluntary non-legally binding subscription basis?

I have my own ideas of how the bookkeeping could work, and a reward system, but before I go into too much detail, I would just like to bang the drum and stir up a discussion on the suggestion. I would like to try and keep this discussion positive, and invite any critics to make their point politely.

Basically, win or loose, we can surely find a way of financing these guys from what we have seen from the Kickstarter. If there is a legal way of doing this, we will get a new home!

Well, Mighty No. 9 accepted

Well, Mighty No. 9 accepted money via Paypal as soon as they reached the original Kickstarter goal. And it looks like you can still invest that way even though the campaign is officially over.

FWIW, Roberts Space

FWIW, Roberts Space Industries instituted a Star Citizen subscription program shortly after the Star Citizen Kickstarter ended. There's a $10 per month subscription tier, and a $20 per month subscription tier. For their money, subscribers get access to a subscribers only forum, early access to game art (a month before it's released to the masses), exclusive fiction, reserved seating at fan events, and a few other perks. Nothing game breaking. It seems to have worked well for 'em, and provides a nice steady stream of funding.

Don't forget that you can also purchase new ships as well (instead of earning them in game) before the game has even launched...

So if a subscription option

So if a subscription option were considered as a funding method before the game goes live, what would you expect in exchange for your sub?

Personally, I would like to see options such as:
Negation of funding against future live in-game subscriptions (probably on a discounted basis), or,
In-game "credits" for use on micro transactions, or,
Conversion to ordinary shares (should the company go public).

The list is endless, so what would persuade you to provide regular funding if it were available, bearing in mind that even if MWM have the best intentions in the world, you could end up getting no return for your funding?

For me, I play the lottery weekly but till now, I haven't won anything substantial (if I had MWM would already be 100% funded!). I have no problems with redirecting what I pay into the lottery onto MWM instead.

I am a fan of this idea,

I am a fan of this idea, especially with the thought to credit against further in-game subscriptions and/or micro transactions. Ten dollars a month isn't huge, but if every single person donated 10 dollars a month....... My mind reels.

Study how others are do so well, and try some of those things? Star Citizen being a huge example... What are they at, 20+ million now?

Yes, the folks at RSI will

Yes, the folks at RSI will likely hit $21 million at some point next week. One little thing to keep in mind, they've already spent $3 million on Kickstarter fees and the like, so far. Someone there did mention that they will not have actually hit the $20 million in funding (that goes directly toward making the game) until they've hit the $23 million mark.

I would be all about the option of stock if the TPP went public. Barring that, Some sort of perk credit, sub credit or something would work for me. I'd GLADLY sub ten bucks a month now to help insure that our project not only takes off but flies for a LONG time.

They have spent a lot on taxes, but their KS fees stopped accruing when the project there ended. They paid somewhere in the range of $220,000 to Amazon and KS at that point in time. I wouldn't be surprised if they have spent millions since then on various credit card fees and taxes, but definitely not KS.

Greetings all.

Greetings all.

As you may know, I'm the business and marketing director for Missing Worlds Media.

I appreciate the questions posed here. While we are certainly looking into the post-Kickstarter side of things, as yet we have not finalized a decision on any of it. Due to the nature of the matter, we are wanting to ensure the security and the sanctity of our player base, and as such there is little concrete information that I can provide at this time.

It is only when we stand up, with all our failings and sufferings, and try to support others rather than withdraw into ourselves, that we can fully live the life of community.

Thanks Terwyn, maybe many of the questions raised will help a future decision.
I am not in any way trying to push for such an option with the rewards suggested, rather trying to see if it would be supported should it be considered a viable option. I'm sure that once the KS has finished, you guys will be in a better position to consider future funding options which aren't so much of an emotional roller-coaster as KS is, with every penny going to you rather than various souces taking a large cut from your income (OK - I KNOW Paypal will also take a percentage, but I don't think it is as high as KS and Amazon).
Ultimately, I'm sure any future ideas for continual funding can only be good for the game development and anticipated 2015 (soon) release.
I for one would be happy to support any future type of funding which doesn't involve reaching a target to receive funds - it would allow you to concentrate on actually progressing the development instead of assigning valuable resources to making a "sales pitch" every time you hit the equivalent of the developers fiscal cliff!!

Now see? THIS is why I like this community. You read what we write, you appreciate that we often pour heart and soul into things, then you try and keep us in the loop. 'We don't know yet.' is a perfectly viable answer sometimes. As long as the player base is mature about it then I like to think little things like keeping us informed pay off in the long run.

RSI has released its hangar module some weeks ago and requires anyone (their original (KS) and veteran backers excepted, I presume) who wants access to the hangar to purchase a package (minimum $30, I believe).

No doubt the Avatar Builder will be by far the most popular and easily monetized item that MWM can produce. I'd be surprised if the AB couldn't provide a decent revenue stream of its own.

If they even charge for it. I see it as a promotional item, both as a proof of concept for "us" and a nice way to get people interested in the game during the development.

I mean hell, I got my wife into CoH by letting her make a character on my account, she got the game by the end of the week :)

I would be happy to pay a monthly subscription fee early if it resulted in some form of in-game benefit after (as has been suggested by other posters, things such as IGC or other bonuses). I would also be interested in investing directly with the company if you ever decide to trade publicly.

I'm all for this.

I'm all for this.

Basically. when I saw that $320k kickstarter goal it did not inspire confidence. If anything, it looks like a hedged bet on low commitment from the community. Less ambitious video game projects have failed to reach conservative funding goals and still managed more than half a million.

We all know that it will take much more.

I would gladly pay for the Character Creator, and for any updates prior to the games release.
I'm just sorry I didn't find out about this until the day the KS was supposed to launch or I could have saved up. As it was I needed those few extra days.

The kind of promotional item

The kind of promotional item I'd love to see, eventually, is like one of those virtual viewings of real estate. Have a few streets from one part (or more!) of the city so people can walk around in it and get an idea of what it'll look like. This would be the kind of thing people who pay a monthly subscription to help development could get early access to as a bonus, or one 'map' could be available to the public and another for only subscribers. Whichever permutation makes the most sense.
