This is just for fun, so let's not get too wrapped up in how wrong we are going to be. Just smile and give your guess, please.
I guess $620,000.

The Titan Legacy - Defender of the Inner Flame
I'm gonna go big - 1 million dollars. < ._.>
My hope is based on the idea that the kickstarter is practically guaranteed to fund - and that once it does people who may have been on the fence may think to themselves "Okay, this is really happening... I have to get in on this." I have a friend and a brother who I suspect will fall into that category. And then there's folks like me who plan to double-dip - I backed now and I'll be backing for more on the first of next month before the Kickstarter closes; I'm sure I'm not alone in not having enough cash to just toss it all at them at once.
Purely theoretical of course, but I can hope >_>
At an average of $50,000 USD per day, we could be looking at $1.5 MILLION before the end of the Kickstarter!

What's the prize? Bragging rights? A Toaster? Fun for all and all for fun?

I'd say bragging rights might be in order, but the later you guess, the less they will be, in my opinion. Early guessers have less information and take more risk. :)
Once it hits it will taper off -- with diehards going for the premiums after that. I'm guessing $425,765

I'm hopeful and optimistic for much more but with US economics in the state they are today (just notified at work of possible lay-offs coming next week)... I'm playing conservative and guessing $385,000

Hmmm, i was just going to look at closest, just for fun. and it's sort of fun to anticipate the success of the kickstarter.
I just hope they have someone more competent than Azuria to watch over the money they collect...
Money is protected by many checks and balances and very tight budget and request requirements so we make it stretch as far as possible. :)

I think TonyV is right that the extra cash over the $320K will accelerate the project quite significantly.

If I had to use current backers as a example which is currently at 1474 at this time of writing and a pledge of 200,675, and the facebook page for MWM/CoT has 3676 likes, if every one of those chips in as a backer...I would figure we would hit somewhere in the ball park of 550k to 650k, but because I'm hoping for the best since there is still 30+ days left...I will go off the wall and say 1.2 to 1.3 million. Just going to take time and some advertising via different forums and internet venues.
I'll play vague oracle and predict under 50K, perhaps even under 40.

I'm going to throw my hat in the ring at 420k. I'd love to see more as I want to know what stretch goals we can hit! ^_^
Are you guessing 50k over the required 320k? *confused*
So...you're saying Azuria is NOT part of the Accounting department? ;P
As for my guess, I'll say...$445,000.00.
Should easily hit $500k, scarey heights of 1 million would be awesome. Lets hope it goes very very viral :)
This just isn't fair. Azuria was not the one in charge of the Vault, she was just the poor schmuck that got stuck sending us out for stuff that others let get stolen.
I actually put together a series of villain missions in the architect explaining how it was all a frame-up to get her replaced by someone who could be bribed. I was able to rig a couple of missions so that you could complete them without combat, if you were careful. Fond memories...
It looks to me like we'll see over $320,000 by Monday...hmmm, i might have guessed low at $620,000
I'm guessing it'll not quite make the 400k mark, say 380k.
I'm praying, praying so hard, for the 400,000 mark, and higher.

I was thinking about that if we start to fall short, asking everyone for just ten more bucks would be a possibly achievable goal. Heck, I just spent ten bucks on eggnog this week already (eggnog is just not to be passed up this time of year, after all), so asking for just that little bit extra - if we need to - doesn't seem too unreasonable.

So you're saying that eggnog is a new add-on? ;)
Yes, i think we would all contribute a bit more if it were a choice of success or failure in the kickstarter. I wonder if KS allows MWM to offer challenges once the $320,000 is reached (assuming it IS reached). For example, it would be very cool if MWM could "auction" particular additional development items during particular days, and see how much each would raise. But likely something of that sort would have needed to be approved in advance.
I'm staying with $620,000 as my estimate. we have quite a few days left.
At the current rate of decay, with the amount that was pledged in the initial 24 hours and the amount that was pledged in the last 24, we're looking at a temporary loss of new people and might not get to goal until maybe the 15th or 16.
Now, at that point, people may start bidding more, since they will know it is going to fund, and will want the goodies...or they will figure it's good and will not offer anything else. I've seen kickstarters go both ways. A lot of that additional funding after it is guaranteed seems to be funded by cool stretch goals offered by the teams.
So, I have two predictions: $350,000 and $1.4 million. I doubt it will be anywhere in between those. Either it will pick up again on the 16th or it will die off completely after it funds.
Put me down at $2M
-Bodai
When it gets to the last two days there will be a big uptick in people pledging and it will go over the one million mark!
Then we will party on the rock! Yay!
I think it will raise 400k roughly :)
We don't climb mountains to be seen by others.
That sounds like a fun one. Hope you saved it, maybe it could be ported over.

Four hunnert and fiddy grand. More than enough to get things rolling.
I remember when Star Wars was cool...a long, long time ago...
I'll guess $654,321. I like the "countdown" nature of the number--it adds to its inevitability.
$808,000.00 is my guess, almost at $300,00.00 now !
Definitely 700-800k. I know this.
I can see interesting parts of the future.
I really love you guys. This is amazing. Just remember, every _donor_ counts as much as every _dollar_.
I honestly have no idea how much this is going to go for, I've been on a wild ride with this ever since we launched and the numbers started spinning faster than I can count.
Project Lead
Unfortunately, I lost my bet with myself that it would fund by the end of the weekend (still, there's a little more than an hour and a half left on the weekend from my point of view, although that's splitting hairs, since it's already passed the 24-hour marker based on launch time), but with just under 2100 contributors and $303,310 in pledges as of 2226 PDT, it looks good to hit goal before the end of the first week. At which point the rest is gravy.
My guess is 521000 $. Keep the money coming!

Well, we're 96 percent funded this morning, so it looks like the KS will succeed today (Monday). Then we're off to next stage to see how much more we can do.
I cannot express the amount of thanks I have for you guys. You utterly rock. Can't wait to team with each and every one of you. Believe me, we want to give every dollar back in terms of quality.

Now we get to see if the $320k doubles, triples, or what. :)
I hope around 800k to give us a fighting chance of surviving longer then a few months.
A question. I'm actually trying to save money for it.. when the period ends, is the ability to pledge and the perks along with it gone as well?

There are 2 media events which can provide a boost in pledges:
1 - Notifications on news sites that the target goal has been reached.
2 - Notifications on news sites that the donation period is about to end.
These tend to generate increased traffic at optimal periods of morale.
Here's my guesstimate: Somewhere between $1 to $2,170,000
At this point, I'm going to guess we surpass the $1 mil mark. If we are *really* *REALLY* *UBER* lucky... we might surpass $3 mil. Just depends on how the angel investors are feeling this month.
I'm estimating somewhere around 1.5 million due to the insane amount of passion I hear whenever someone talks about how much they loved CoX. Never underestimate the power of a passionate community!
Ayooooah!
I'm guessing 1.5 mill, after they reach the mac goal alot of mac users will apply also
I'm having a range guess of somewhere between 500,000 dollars to 1 million Dollars.
$750,000

I think kicktraq may be showing an overestimate at the moment. We'll see what level of stupendous the KS reaches. $620,000 still looks good to me, but it could be higher.
Let's go for it! 32 million, so we can reach that elusive 'everyone at MWM can quit their day job' Stretch Goal! *not CURRENTLY a stretch goal*

If you look at their projection view, based on the pledge history they project a result somewhere between $600k and $1.6M (as of about 0800 PDT).
Two days ago they were projecting between $1.1 million and $2.2 million. As time goes on the projection is trending lower, but this may be offset by a rush at the end, to finish strong.
I've never been happier in admitting to being so very wrong.

I initially thought $350K. Then $500K. I'm up to $700K now.
Well....I am/was a HUGE CoH fan and didn't have a clue about this project until yesterday but then saw it & immediately pledged. So I think that if they get a little more coverage we'll have a HUGE number of ex-CoH fans coming in and pledging so I'm going to guess an rather optimistic $1.7million
~ If your going through hell...Keep going!!! #Winston Churchill
Close to or around $470,000 by mid Kickstarter.
Depending on any promotional campaings that the Community or MWM starts before or after mid fundraiser... could go up by another $360,000 near the end.
But I'm not aware of any such promotinal campaings.
Well, new money is slowing down, but I am hopeful something will happen at the end to allow a strong finish. I'd love to see the KS get over $600,000.
What would make for that kind of strong finish?
I'm going to say it'll break $500k, but probably not $550k.
LOL
This actually does raise a question for me: Will there be any possibilities of upgrading to a higher Kickstarter goal AFTER the Kickstarter is over? (I'm kinda bummed I can't afford Geocatcher)

I'm sorry, but we can't be doing that. It would sort of violate what KS is all about, and it would become an accounting nightmare for us.
Unless it was marked perpetually exclusive, any of the KS rewards has the *possibility* of reappearing in other fundraising venues or earnable in-game or found in a cash shop. But, no promises.

Well I would imagine more cash being needed down the line, unless of course the kickstarter raises that much to nullify that.
But yeah, good answer.
EIther way looks like you all are on your way especially in the cash department.

Our guesses are converging. I hope the CoT devs have some sort of a plan to create excitement (and more donations) in the last week. I hope that our community finishes strong!
Well I'm not going to jinx it by guessing an exact number, but I'm also hoping that it'll get past $550k for the wings. My original CoH main character had to suffer for 2.5 years before the game finally introduced wings. Wings had been part of her "character concept" from the beginning. I'd hate to have to start off this new game having to wait for them to be added post-launch again.

Well I am ecstatic to say that we have flown by my initial conservative guess of 420k! I would like to see us surpass $550k as several of my character concepts contain wings of some sort. At this point I just can't wait to get my hands on the Costume creator app and spend hours on my iPad getting my guys and gals all decked out, haha.
I've been doing some statistics based on the daily pledge data from KickTraq. I assume that all future days have the same distribution of daily pledges as previous days. Very crude, but it captures the uncertainty as well.
Based on the first 5 days of the Kickstarter, I estimate a final total of $1955k and 90% chance of within $1598k and $2365k.
Based on the first 10 days of the Kickstarter, I estimate a final total of $1331k and 90% chance of within $1061k and $1669k.
Based on the first 15 days of the Kickstarter, I estimate a final total of $956k and 90% chance of within $749k and $1240k.
Based on the first 20 days of the Kickstarter, I estimate a final total of $760k and 90% chance of within $616k and $991k.
This roughly tracks the "trending" estimate by KickTraq. Initially it's wildly optimistic, and why not, the first days were way above expectation. But things have settled down. Based on how things are progressing, at the point of this post (with 10 days to go), I expect we'll reach $700k, with a 90% chance of being within $600k and $900k.

But Shadowrun Online (www.shadorun.com, there are 3 different games there) kept a donation page open long after the Kickstarter for them expired, and no one said "boo!"
The donation levels and rewards remained pretty much the same, if not identical, to the Kickerstarter funding.
This might be a good way to continue to receive income after the Kickstarter is over, although it might not be ethical to maintain the stretch goals.
Edit
Added the link to the Donation Page, just for reference. Mod's delete the link if you like.
Why would the stretch goals become unethical once the Kickstarter ends?
Stretch goals are a means to tell people what MWM can and will do with sufficient funding. I view that as transparency, which is one of the hallmarks of ethical behavior.
They would most likely need to take the KS pledge levels and perks off the table, though I see no particular reason to remove the add-ons (barring practical concerns).

Stretch Goals will probably be on future issues down the road. It just depends on what is most desired versus how easy it is to integrated in. And how clean they want to be --- Even CoH had problems with certain costume elements working with every existing item for EVERY build size without clipping and collisions.
Glad to see my prediction was so LOW compared to the actual... I'm really hoping they hit the half million mark.
Mark Brinkman aka Flagborn aka CentralNexus
centralnexus.squarespace.com
I think clipping and collision issues, as long as they're not gross (as opposed to minor) or continuous, would be acceptable for some pieces with intractable issues. For example, in the original CoV beta, Robotics Masterminds had a different weapon than they had after it went live; one of the idle character poses would, if the character had their rifle drawn at the time, result in them having the stock of the weapon sticking through their abdomen. The weapon was changed before launch to the 'grip at the back of the butt' pulse-rifle design, and the original design eventually appeared as one of the customization options for Assault Rifle -- but all the Robotics Masterminds got was the silly-looking ray-gun style that had a grip at the back of the weapon, so that there was no stock to clip into the character's abdomen. A better solution would have been to change the animation for that one pose to check for the presence of a drawn weapon and if found, put it away before assuming that pose. But apparently it was simpler to have the art department make a stupider-looking weapon for the Robotics Masterminds that didn't have a stock to clip against.
