Project Progress Map Revisit?

https://cityoftitans.com/content/what-it-means-alpha-and-beta

Thought about posting this thread on the anniversary of when this update was first posted, but we'll have to settle for a two month advance. I stumbled on this after doing some forum sweeping and rediscovered the old "pseudo-road map" that was provided in this update along with some additional clarity and insight regarding the internal development of City of Titans. Hell, I remember doing a lot of speculating on my own behalf on what could be the next phases of the game now that some visual, at the time, was being provided in regard to development. Anyway, with it being 5-going on-6 years later since this update first went live, has this chart been revisited at all or seen some incremental changes made to it? With a lot of the nodes being green/blue - denoting either "In Progress" or "Next Steps", I wonder what stages are some of these nodes at currently with the City released and combat/travel systems apparently being worked on.

I recall there was a good

I recall there was a good reason why we haven't updated that, but I can't find it now. Let me check with the team.

That milestone map is exactly

That milestone map is exactly what I and many others have been asking for. We have been told so many times that a calendar-based schedule is impossible to to make, but a milestone-based update like that is perfect for this effort. Is there any chance we could have that posted on the homepage somewhere? Probably under the Updates or Patch Notes pages.
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

Eh, I should've figured there

Eh, I should've figured there was a reason for why this graphic was included in an update once and never revisited despite some of the milestones that had been made since its creation. If there was reason given before, I certainly missed it given how scattered communication has been since we had the forums for 8-10+ years before the official Discord went public. Responses to certain infrequently asked questions like the one in my original post are buried in conversations or forum threads spanning years back. I know, I know - "We're a volunteer project and we work on what we can with whatever time we have while also working regular day jobs as well." It just stinks that at this point everything is "Wait-for-the-next-update-which-will-tease-whats-to-come-in-the-next-update" and so on and so forth.

Instead of adding more ill

Instead of adding more ill just say it's a moot point...there's too infrequent communication at this point to be excited about this game so im going to content myself that ill be happy if and when it launches.

Similar deal here. There was

Similar deal here. There was a point in where I was genuinely excited, immensely even to the point in where I would frequently visit/refresh the home screen for any new information or updates. Now its just kind of a shoulder shrug and counting down the days until some major news for the project finally breaks.

I think nearly all of us are

I think nearly all of us are in the same boat. At first I was hear nearly every day. Then it was weekly. Then monthly. Then it was me and two or three other people keeping The Titan Legacy thread going with "just checking" posts a couple times a year. Now it's just...every once and a while I look at the bookmark on my toolbar and think "wonder if there's one or two new posts on the forums." I'm among the most stubborn men on the planet, so I'll be checking here as long as here is still a thing. But if there was a scale for how much hope a person has, I don't think mine would register for this project anymore. I'd love to be proven wrong, but...look over there to the left of this post. See my "join" date? See the Kickstarter logo? I've been here for a DECADE now. I just don't see it coming together after this much time.

Pretty much this. I went on

Pretty much this. I went on to some Unreal Engine subreddits to try and get more knowledgeable opinions on the amount of work required on an mmo like this to get the mmo/multiplayer part/code up to snuff. Granted its reddit, but the consensus was that for one person, and i think it is just amievil coding the mmo/multiplayer part, its more likely to find a needle in a haystack. I really don't see how one person can be over so much on a game like this trying to be an mmo. Want it to work out and prove everyone wrong...but i don't have much more faith to lose. Which is fine, it'll either fail or succeed despite my faith or lack thereof..so hopefully they succeed.

Yeah I've been checking in

Yeah I've been checking in every once in a while, to see the activity, and the release of the Titan City was a good Start. Now we just need an actual hands on Demo with Powers / Gameplay / and a few missions to allow us to get a feel for what the game wants to be.

When I first donated to this

When I first donated to this project, I was a teenager still in High School. I saved up almost a thousand dollars working minimum wage at the United Postal Service in hot metal trucks, loading boxes. So many things young me could have spent that money on, but he gave it to you guys. I lived through my entire 20's and am now a 30 year old man and this project 'STILL' isn't out. Not even a beta with multiplayer. Ridiculous. This whole project is just ridiculous.

Puny Heroes.

I get where you're coming

I get where you're coming from seeing that I was in middle school when the Kickstarter first launched in 2013. Since then, I went on to graduate high school and officially join the forums that same year in 2017, donate to the Second Chance campaign in 2019, and complete college this year in 2024 with me being in my mid-twenties now. I'm sure everyone can raddle off all day about how old they were or where they were when this project was first announced and where they are now, but thats just the breaks of an ambitious endeavor like City of Titans.

While I still have faith in this game, its at the point now where its best to dust your hands off and wait for the day/year it'll finally be announced that a beta of some sort will be coming soon. So much has happened since this whole project began with engine switches, volunteers coming and going, a global pandemic, and even the original game CoT was meant to be the spiritual successor to coming back. At the very least, its still likely you'll see City of Titans in your lifetime. Not sure how many Mogul buildings have to serve as memorials now considering that the original donators passed in the years gone-by.

Geeeeeze that's a sad thought. It's so crazy to look back at when I pledge and paid for this game, and what my life was like. I was an entirely different person back then.

The KS game was much smaller

The KS game was much smaller and almost certainly would have finished years ago...but the feature/scope creep that came with upgrading engines twice has added on many years...possibly double or triple the realistic time the initial KS scope required. Whether that is a good thing or bad thing... is subjective.
