Using Brands from other IP?

I'm sure we've all seen the ads for Fortnite in which they allow players to use skins from other brands, and even real life people. I expect the business case is that Epic Games, the maker of Fortnite, pays to use the IP and then recovers that investment by selling the skins.

Would there be a case for MWM to imitate this business model?

Would players pay to play as one of the students from My Hero Academia? from The Boys? or from any independent comic book creator who might want to get their characters in front of new eyes?

But players woudn't even have to play as one of those other characters, they could purchase the costumes and use parts in characters of our own design.

For example, take Mina Ashido, a.k.a. Pinky

The specific color pattern of her tights can be a material selection
Her hairstyle can be a hair selection
Her horns can be a costume selection
Her boots and fur-tipped vest can be costume selections
Even her skin color can be made available as part of the purchase

Then there is the Iconic UA Track Suit:

Which can be both a color pattern that can be put on spandex and other clothes, as well as a costume selection (the 3/4 sleeve high collared top and the straight-legged bottoms would be separates)

By this point, there are some of you who are probably "Hell Yeah!" and you're among the guaranteed sales for something like this.
Then there are some of you who are saying "What is My Hero Academia and who are these characters?" and will be curious enough to look it up and maybe watch an episode.
And then there are some of you who are saying "I don't care about the show or those characters, but I really like that costume item!" and might purchase it to get the items.
And then there are the rest of the people who won't consider it for whatever reason, either because they can't afford it, don't want to spend any money at all, or who are just not interested in the promotion. There will always be these people.

But the win-win-win is that MWM makes money, the other brand gets some marketing and players get cool costumes they might like.

I think there might be a business case for MWM to reach out to other IP once the game gets its feet under it. My recommendation would be to contact independent comic book creators first because those people have the most to gain from marketing to our playerbase.
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

I'm definitely in favor of this idea and other vaguely similar ones that have been mentioned over the years.

It just seems like being able to implement this in CoT is something that'd be so far in some kind of "utopian future" that it almost doesn't seem worth thinking about. Sadly this is the kind of thing that probably wouldn't happen here until 5 or 10 years AFTER launch, if ever.

Epic actually pays a lot for

Epic actually pays a lot for those licensed characters. If we reached crazy success like Fortnite, a lot of opportunities present themselves.

Oh I have no doubt that Epic pays through the nose for all those licensing deals. Obviously if MWM starts making silly amounts of money like that then all sorts of things become possible.

Perhaps to clarify my last post on this thread MWM needs to worry about 50,000+ other things FIRST before they start dreaming of Epic-style licensing deals.
