Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Worth it all?

I loved badge hunting in CoX. For me it was more personal to each toon than to my account. To me it seems a little odd to spin a new character and have a lvl1 standing next to me in phoenix plaza with fireworks and spotlights on their name, but thats not what this thread is about and its discussed heavily on another thread.

So my question to all is about the rewards for badges and achievements. I am very much in favor of costume unlocks, psudo pets, emotes, stances, or auras for badges and achievements earned. Badges, by deffinition, are meant to be seen. Think of a military uniform with every badge, ribbon, and medals bright and plain to see. Unfortunately many of the badges or sets didnt give to much to show.

I'm torn on this. Personally

I'm torn on this. Personally, as someone who enjoyed badge hunting in the later years of CoX, I like the idea of an associated visual reward (as distinct from functional ones, like the End buff that came with the Atlas Badge). However, I also think that one of the inherent principles of badging has always been that it is essentially pointless and primarily a self-contained mini-game.

I really can't make up my mind about this one.

I wouldn't mind if there were

I wouldn't mind if there were some way to display badges. One straightforward and harmless method is with a title (e.g. 'Needs A Life' :P ). 'course, that's scarcely spectacular. Another option is an aura that displays an image for every badge earned. For that I'd be in favor of such an aura being like an emote, which is to say that it cannot constantly be active. In part this depends on just how much the aura can display. If I looked at such a character and my graphics card went, "Holy hell! Hamsters! We need more hamsters!" that'd be bad.

I'm looking forward to

I'm looking forward to whatever badge/achievement system CoT offers us. I think it'd be cool if they come up with some new ways to show off our achievements with various unlocks, titles and whatnot. But frankly I don't mind the idea of allowing us to remain "low-key" about it too. At any rate I'd like to keep the option to NOT show off every badge I've earned on my character just so that it doesn't get out of hand.

Case in point I ended up CoH with two different characters who each had 1390+ badges. Obviously if there had been some kind of "wear your badges on your uniform" option those two characters would have just visually become a mountain of piled-up badges with a crushed body buried underneath them. It would have looked a bit silly to say the least.

So in a way I kind of side with what Cinnder was saying about the mini-game part of this. I don't really need to directly "show off" all my badges because if for no other reason that only certain other badgers would really care that I had them. But for what its worth it might be cool if more badges (than CoH) had indirect unlocks so that I could pick and choose which specific ones to show off via their associated auras, titles, etc.

I've always wanted to wear

I've always wanted to wear the badge that distinguished my title under my name. I always used Justicar at end levels on my main, and I always thought it'd be cool to have it on my arm, on the left of my chest, or on my belt. I think to have 1 - 3 badges would be one more modification you can add to your costume--we want more costume options, right? Hell, I wouldn't mind if it added minute bonuses like +1 to speed, jumping, fire resistance, depending on what the badge is called; given accolades did this at a higher rate. If not additional stats, then maybe recognition from citizens walking by, discounts from certain vendors, make enemies fear you, or piss off enemies to hunt you down. Doesn't have to be a huge impact, but it'd be cool if they had an extra feature.

I'm with you though, I was a badge junky, and acquiring them was fun enough. As long as they have them, I will hunt them all.

Sorry to be pedantic, but I

Sorry to be pedantic, but I think you mean "Justiciar."

"Justicar" is a made-up word that for some reason is becoming more prevalent in computer games. Personally I think someone just misspelled "justiciar" at some point and, the internet being what it is, the error caught on. Kinda like "pwn".

/end rant -- Sorry, this "word" happens to be one of my pet peeves. Carry on with your relevant conversation. :-)

Haha, yeah you're right. I can completely relate too, man. I share this pet peeve with you, and I just committed the sin of spelling it wrong. It'll happen. I love that word too, so it sucks twice as much.

BTW Cinder has only one "N". :P

I had some overlong

I had some overlong discussions with folks in SWTOR who wanted to believe "justicar" was a real word, and their evidence was that it was also used in WoW. lol

Heh -- touché... You are of course correct when speaking of the generic word for the igneous rock; however, "Cinnder" was my CoH main's name combining the fire-related word with the Scots Gaelic "cinn" which means "to grow or prosper." The RP reason was so she could trademark it, kinda like "No Doz" or "Bonz." :-)

I read someone trying to

I read someone trying to differentiate the two by saying a "Justicar" is a type paladin, and a "Justiciar" is a judge. Pretty ridiculous. Couldn't admit it was just a typo in denial.

"Cinnder" still works though. I dig it.

Instead of actual badges that

Instead of actual badges that display on our costumes, maybe they could be little plaques or statues that could be displayed in our bases. We could pick and choose what we wanted to put on display.

Rigel's suggestion woke

Rigel's suggestion woke within me the need to step up the obnoxious:

The possibility to hire an art gallery in order to display your (or your SG's) badges and achievements.

That's be kinda cool. Since

That'd be kinda cool.
Since bases would be by invitation only, there could be some public building or even billboards which could be rented for a time using in-game currency to show off you or your SG's achievements.

Can we combine that with your suggestion on the in-game ads thread to allow players to deface things? >:-)

I'm definitely with both

I'm definitely with both ideas:
1: players and SGs may put plaques up for medium to large size badges in their respective bases. I say medium to large because having a thousand little exploration or kill skuls badges (maybe for novelty on the specific example) gets work-intensive and crowded.
2: wearing physical badges on a character is awesome! Especially since they already intend for costume parts to be very mobile.
But let's take it one step further, how about other badge-based accessories: medalians, pendants, ear rings, rings, and brooches. Again, work-intensive, so maybe limit to big or high-achievement badges. But for crowdedness, if someone wants to be a pile of badges, go for it :p

I got more questions about

I got more questions about the Rularuu weapons and shield than any onther costume pieces. It was nice to point other playes towards other content in the game.

I personaly am not looking to make my character look like a nascar driver or Captain Amazing from The Mystery Men, but these are 'items' we earned and should be proud to show off.

This does mean that people will have to play the game and wont be able to get every costume piece through a sub or cash shop purchase. I know someone will be upset about that...sad, so sad. The thing people should be excited about is that these awards are the great equalizer. If a character spends time playing the game going through the content, exploring, defeating, and conquering, who wouldnt want to sport that shiny new widget you got from running all over the map earning every bit of your badge?

I have to say, I do like the idea of some things that you can't buy but have to earn. As long as they don't modify one's abilities and thus cross the gear-appearance line.

Agreed, but they should be

Agreed, but they should be account-wide. I should not have to kill 300+ Rularuu (Red Side, this was just stupid, we pretty much couldn't have them) on EACH TOON i want a cool sword on, I shouldn't have to complete a certain difficult raid or TF more than once, and I shouldn't have to earn x inf for every toon. But, I do think some work should be needed.

Buying your way to all items, weapons, costume stuff, etc gets into Pay to Play territory...slightly.

Badgers should be rewarded

Badgers should be rewarded without overpowering the toon. We like little treats
for our efforts. Badging is great for my OCD and I would like a subtle way for everyone to see the work I put into the game. Even if it's a little badge counter in my title.
