Greetings everyone, somehow I just found this site after all this time.
I played on Guardian from issue 3 up until shutdown and then like most of us went off to other things. When a small group of players started talking about creating a new game I frankly wasn't optimistic about their chances but I did toss them $50 when the Kickstarter began figuring it was a long shot but worth a try. I got the various kickstarter updates for awhile until life intervened and I ended up changing email hosts along with much else and frankly forgot all about it until I ran across a Facebook post last week. Son of a gun it looks like you guys pulled it off!
I'll be anxious to see what happens when beta and then launch rolls around and I really hope that this game ends up with the same kind of community CoH had... that's the thing that I never found in any of the other MMO's I tried. Secret World, WoW, Star Wars The Old Republic, Elder Scrolls, none had the community of CoH. From a brief overview of the forums it looks like we have Tanks, Scrappers, Defenders, Controllers, Masterminds and Blasters (or at least analogues thereof) and it sounds like travel powers come early - the biggest gripe I've had about gameplay in other MMO's.
Also, is there a way to connect even though the email I had for the Kickstarter is no more?

Welcome aboard!
Beta for the avatar builder is planned on starting Soon[sup]tm[/sup], with the rest of the game being unlocked as integration permits. If I'm reading into your comment about "the email I had for the Kickstarter" correctly, you may have access to the beta at some point if you can convince the devs that you are in fact the guy who had that email address. I recommend a PM to the Business Manager, Segev or find a more appropriate dev to bother on this handy Dev Digest. ^_^

Thanks, I will try that. If I get in great, if not ah well I'm not going to throw a fit about it.

I followed Call Me Awesome's guide to Invulnerability tanking (with some modifications) to an 'Awesome' build for my Inv/EM main.
Welcome, CMA!
Be Well!

If you still know that email, direct message me, Shadow Elusive or Warcabbit with it on here, we can make sure you're set up.

Thanks for the welcome, I've missed the community of CoH since shutdown, nothing else I played had that. Sure, some were fun for awhile but none of them could hold my interest for long. The best of the bunch was SWTOR but that game has lots of shortcomings as an MMO; it played much more like a single player RPG with some MMO bits tacked on.
Glad my little Inv guide had an impact on you, I had a lot of fun playing that character over the years. I think I had somewhere close to 4,000 hours on CMA from issue 3 to shutdown, he was easily my most played character. I rolled him up as a joke and I guess the joke was on me. ;)
Thinking about it I believe the only AT I never got to 50 was a Mastermind, most of the others had multiple examples. I'm looking forward to seeing if there's going to be anything like the superteam of Fire/Rad controllers possible here, my SG and I had a blast taking a team of 6 of them to 50. Dropping GM's in 45 seconds was wild fun. (Well, two of them anyway, Lusca took about 3 minutes)

Hello from an old Guardianite, CMA. I remember your handle -- we crossed paths a few times in CoH, though I don't expect you'd remember me. I played a lot of alts, and mostly kept a pretty low profile.
Welcome back to CoT. You've picked a good time to get re-acquainted with it. We seem to be on the cusp of an exciting new phase.
I'm glad to be back, and looking forward to trying out the new game. It looks pretty solid from what I see, most of the things I've seen certainly have a familiar feel to them.
So hopefully sometime in the near future we get to Go Hunt. Kill Skullz, er Bugs. ;)
