You're stretching the definition of what a "leotard" is pretty thin. The things you are talking about are specifically designed for men to, more or less, keep a male's various bits of anatomy "safely contained". If a standard adult male tried to wear a TRUE leotard (the garment specifically designed for a woman) he'd likely find there's simply not enough material "down there" to keep his modesty intact.

A leotard is a tight formfitting one piece that keeps the hips and torso covered but leaves the legs entirely free. It may or may not contain sleeves. It differs from a swimsuit in the choice of material and the fact that it is not intended to be used (or usable) in water. It is typically associated with sports wear for ballet, gymnastics and dance, but is also used in other sports as well as a top plus panties combo by some young women (paired with a miniskirt or shorts)

And yes, of course a leotard for men would have two key differences. First it is not called a leotard (because that is women's clothing and unless the name is changed men can't wear it, and vice versa). Second /of course/ the cut is going to be different. Men and women's bodies are quite different especially in the hips and torso. It is silly to expect clothes cut for one body type to work for, or even fit, another.
This is no different than, say, tee shirts. Nobody is going to argue that because the cut is different between male and female tees that only one gender is capable of wearing them.

Basically you were very pedantic and immature about it back then and frankly yes you were very silly to have alluded to it again here and now in an attempt to once again effectively use that topic to deride/insult me. Stop bringing the subject up or I'll report you for it.

You know what? I am sick and tired of your aggressiveness.

Congratulations, as far as I am concerned you 'won' this forum.
I'll leave it, and perhaps the game, to you and bother you no more with my presence.

From what I've read the male

From what I've read the male version of the leotard is still called a leotard, though some males may not like to call it a leotard (likely some masculine stigma attached to it for them :p).

Payton Elizabeth Lee might be playing Cassandra Cain.

Meanwhile, Alexandra Daddario is eyed for Huntress while Jodie Comer and Vanessa Kirby are top of the list to play Black Canary.

Alexandra I like for a Huntress. Can't say I like either choice for Black Canary.

I don't like the idea of making Cass a 14 year old, but I liked the actress when watching her show with my daughter, so it's like "Okay, good actress, but still hate the choice in direction"

Cass was my fave Batgirl, but I never kept up with DC as well as I did with Marvel, especially after New 52 (which had it's good and bad) and really it feels like they're trying to copy Logan. :p

It's been a while but

It's been a while but according to a recent article they've nailed down the roles of Huntress and Black Canary with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell respectively.

That leaves the cast list for this movie as follows:

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn

Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress

Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary

Payton Elizabeth Lee(?) as Cassandra Cain

Justina Machado(?) or Roberta Colindrez(?) as Rene Montoya
It'll be interesting to see how this fairs against all the other "female-centric" superhero movies coming up in the next couple of years (i.e. Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, Supergirl, Dark Phoenix, etc.).

If they were smart they'd let this movie become a sort of a "female/DC" version of Deadpool with Robbie's Quinn acting in the starring mercurial role. We already know Mary Elizabeth Winstead could probably handle a movie like that based on her role in the cult-classic Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Instead they'll probably try to skew this movie to be all "dark and serious" and it'll end up being unintentionally laughable because it'll take itself too seriously.

They have their chance to do a "serious female Batman" type show with the upcoming Batwoman TV show (staring Ruby Rose). Making this new Birds of Prey movie be a little more "fun" might be, well, fun. :)

I like Harley, but I don't like them making her DC's version of Deadpool!

So, I hope they don't do that.

So for anyone who's

So for anyone who's interested it looks like they've picked Rosie Perez for the role of Rene Montoya in Birds of Prey.

It's funny you said you hope they don't do this. In tangentially related news today they've picked Kaley Cuoco (Penny from Big Bang Theory) to voice for Harley in the upcoming Harley Quinn animated show. Here's a quick trailer for that here:

The irony of course is that she manages to specifically make fun of Deadpool in the trailer so even if Margot Robbie doesn't channel Deadpool in the Birds of Prey movie it's clear there are people out there who still want Harley to be a "female Deadpool" of sorts.

That's a teaser trailer, so we don't know how it will go.

But it's sad that there's a Marvel vs DC fanboy thing, yet those same fanboys want their characters to copy the others. :p

Sure the new animated show might not ever directly mention Deadpool again. But the trailer -does- strongly hint that it'll be breaking the 4th wall fairly regularly just based on the discussion Ivy and Harley are having in the trailer. Let's just say I'll be shocked if they don't try to make the show deadpool-esque.

The Fanboy thing is a farce. Marvel and DC have been "borrowing" each others characters and/or character concepts for decades. This would be nothing new, and frankly I think much of the respective fanbases like it that way. ;)

Well I know they've been borrowing for years. Deadpool is a more popular borrow from DC. :p
