Sapphire was born a twin to an Alice and Justin Jones in Weston. Growing up her and her sister Viola were often faced with hunger and abuse at the hands of their alcoholic mother while their father worked three jobs trying to keep the power on. It wasn’t uncommon that the twins would go to school in the middle of May wearing long sleeves to try and hide the cigarette burns or bruises left on their arms. Sapphire tried to take the brunt of the abuse to protect her sister, and often enough it worked, however when the girls were eleven, their mother tried to drown them in the tub. Sapphire managed to get away running to a neighbor’s house to call the police, unfortunately by the time they and paramedics arrived, Viola was dead. Sapphire was taken into the foster system, and her mother was given a slap on the wrist; rehab, therapy for depression, and parenting classes. For the next two years Sapphire bounced from home to home, never quite settling in, until one day she accidently set her bed spread on fire during a night terror. Her foster parents were able to put the fire out but she was sent back to be replaced. Rather than be bounced around anymore, Sapphire ran away, returning to Weston where her mother and father lived. She set her childhood home on fire and watched the flames engulf the building, unfortunately the fire department and police arrived quick enough that she was arrested for Arson and her mother was able to be rescued. She was placed in Juvenile detention for third degree arson.

For the next six months, she remained on her best behavior. She went to therapy as instructed, she volunteered for the worst jobs, and she kept her nose clean which earned her an early release. She spent the next year and a half training her powers and hunting down the new home of Alice Jones. When she finally found it, she took the time to make sure Alice couldn’t escape this time by sneaking in and turning on the gas at the stove. The house went up in an explosion, causing a few nearby houses to be burned in the process. She managed to control the fire enough that the only person that was killed was Alice, but by staying to control the fires she was captured by TCPD. She was immediately taken to Juvenile detention to be processed, managing to burn four guards and nearly kill one in the process. Her attack of the guards resulted in her being set to be transferred to max security, unfortunately the transfer was done by the juvenile detention staff, resulting in her collar not being calibrated quite right. The calibration was off enough she managed to use her powers to kill two guards and injure the other two. She escaped. Now, as Pyromania, she uses her powers to rob stores for money and food as well as torment anyone she feels deserves it.
