Why do people always want to taunt the sleeping bear? My Deadpool/Powergirl gif was a fun little bit that essentially conceded that the "thread that shall not be mentioned" has been effectively dead as much as any thread that's been necroposted to about 10 times and still, as far as I know, hasn't been locked yet can be.
Obviously I wouldn't have even bothered to post the Deadpool/Powergirl gif had Cyclops not created this thread. Honestly if you (and here I mean "everybody" you, not just Huckleberry) can't just get a little chuckle out of that gif then I seriously think you're probably dead inside. I'm all for letting sleeping dogs lie if everyone else will...

I never comes in a debate but this time i think this thread becomes boring :/ That's always the same tune.
This "jiggle subject" is at least embarrasing and at best seedy. Even if some one are talking about real physics in the game, some other have in mind an ulterior motive. You can tell no that's not true... Physics could have been about a water power or something else but no, it turn around bras and bulge (and butt, i admit i put this idea on the table ^^)… even in the funny gif ;)
Taht was my 2 cents and that will not make the debate progress :p

Well, it's different if you're getting paid/rewarded for jiggling.
I freely admit that the right sort of jiggling goes straight to my back-brain and sets off a bomb. I'm a male, so kill me. By the same token, a 'hair-flip' can send alert messages to the same place. And! The sort of lovingly slow-mo hyper-scrutiny of jiggling often caught on film just makes me wince in sympathy for the discomfort that _I_ would experience if parts of my anatomy were freely exposed to G-forces like that.
Empathy/Sympathy kills the buzz.

Hair jiggle for the win! Up until now I've only ever referred to it as "hair animation" or maybe "hair physics" but now in honor of the topic we all claim to hate but keep talking about anyway I'm now only ever going to call it [b]HAIR JIGGLE[/b] whenever the topic of hair comes up for CoT. Maybe I'll use the "J word" for capes, wings and tails as well. ;)

Hair Jiggle taken to the extreme.
Get a few dozen of characters like this on-screen at one time and see what happens to the game's minimum system requirements.
I imagine it would make the "no cape" costumes for hamidon raids seem quaint in comparison
(And yes, when I hear discussions on hair jiggle, I do naturally turn to Skyrim modder videos. Can we just agree to use the terminology "hair physics" rather than Jiggle? My initial search term included "hair jiggle" and it took me to some results that I just can't unsee...)
But jiggle is the buzzword!
We certainly wouldn't have wasted pages and pages discussing 'materials physics'.
Also, the 'hair physics' on that horse were pretty lousy.

Thanks for sharing the hair [i]jiggle[/i] vid but frankly (like Fireheart) I wasn't very impressed. I've seen much better examples of hair renderings in games like that.
But case in point it's clear that a single-player game like Skyrim is likely always going to be able to out-perform graphics-wise anything that they'll be able to get away in a MMO precisely because the MMO has to deal with the potential of having many multiple players running around on the screen at the same time. We can expect that the hair [i]jiggle[/i] implemented in CoT (because the Devs have already said they're going to have it in CoT) to be of a simpler type as a compromise solution. Basically since CoH had no hair [i]jiggle[/i] at all (except for Ghost Widow alone when CoV launched) getting any amount of PC hair [i]jiggle[/i] will be an improvement.
P.S. More than likely I'll probably use another term other than hair [i]jiggle[/i] to describe animated hair in other future threads. But for now I'm going to get all the mileage I can out of hair [i]jiggle[/i] at least while I'm talking about it in this thread. ;)

If we get the Saints Row Crotch slider, a big booty, or fat jiggle, to keep it all fair and even, i would say go for it. Hell... if the Hair models had actual physics to them as well, i would consider it a success, April fools joke or not.
We've been going over this for over three years. Jiggly bodies is sadly not happening any time soon. this thread was a joke about the fact that the jiggle physics threads got resurrected every two to three weeks to shamble along throughout the years that they were active, until a dev came in and nailed the coffin shut.
An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".

Oh, did you guys finally actually lock the thread that shall not be named? Ironically it's been so long since I checked I was honestly not even aware of its status.
Also (perhaps ironically) I'll be the first and loudest person to tell you that particular thread should have been locked [b]MANY YEARS[/b] before I'm assuming you finally did. For what it's worth I will again point out I never once necro'd it myself so I will never take sole responsibility for it. The simple fact that [b]this[/b] thread popped up (regardless if it was meant as an April Fool's joke or not) only proves yet again that the "debate" about the topic is not and never will be settled.
There's probably a collective "lesson learned" for the Devs of this game buried within that most infamous of threads. Sadly I know for a fact you [b]haven't[/b] actually learned that lesson and that's going to be the unfortunate legacy of the thread as far as I'm concerned. *shrugs*

Why did you even bother to respond to me today? Make up your mind - either the Rednames should allow threads with so-called "tacky" content to exist unjudged and uncensored or simply lock them.
Frankly I'm content to sit back and remain amazed that the infamous thread in question remains (apparently) unlocked considering all the trouble you Devs got yourselves into over it.

But locking threads doesn't solve the real problems. Also, locking that thread would not be evil, but a relief to all concerned.
However, you're correct that there's not really anything to be worried about. We are all heroes here, fighting for what we believe in. It's only when we forget that we're all friends, that the discouraging words get used.
