Could MWM use some things from those assets ? like the animations of Gideon which were awesome ?
So sad that this game didn't work, it was a great game !

I'm sure that anything UE4 related that could be "used for free" would be of potential interest to MWM. ;)

We actually can’t use most of that unfortunately for the game proper. The costumes are all useless for us.
We can use those assets for study, learn how they did things.
We might be able to retarget animations with some work.

Yeah to be honest I didn't think most of the character/costume stuff would useful to CoT because those are probably highly specific/unique. But maybe some of the "generic environment assets" could be scavenged for some re-use.

That's half a good news :) I hope you'll be able to reuse gideon's animation with the rock coming from another space :)
"with some work", while ii takes less time than to create it, it's an advantage ^^

Yeah, I had thought in terms of environmental elements and props, when I saw this announcement in my newsfeed. I was sure that our character models would be unique, such that costume and animation elements wouldn't be compatible.

Right before I went to sleep this morning I saw an article about this, and I was very tempted to bring it up here, but I had a strong feeling someone was bound to bring it up. I never played Paragons so I don't know the quality of the animation/elements/etc. But it would have been pretty cool if it would have been a gold mine of assets. But it can never be that easy lol

If MWM can borrow or mimic the countess's screaming leap attack (go to 5:20 in the video below) as an attack animation, I know there will be a lot of people interested in it. That scream is just terrifying.
And the summoned meteor at 7:06 is awesome.
At 14:15, they show a witchdoctor/voodoo priestess who uses an ability to make a puppet of her target. And then whatever she does to her puppet happens to the target. That's an interesting ability and I wonder if there is any way that could be reproduced in CoT...
The Grim.exe character (at about 20:45) is a perfect example of a shoulder-pet character, and I hope we get to make something like that in CoT.
And honestly, who doesn't love that orc drummer/bard/healer at 16:45, or the nature magic of the sprite who follows him, or Riktor's chain attacks... there is a lot to like in those character designs.

[hr]I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.
Obviously there is no copy/paste for most, if not all, of these assets but MWM would be remiss to not take everything they can and use what can't be transferred as inspiration. There are so many cool costume pieces they could rebuild and powers/animations that they could copy that just look amazing. For example the animation in the first minute or two with the guy with the robot arm, it looks like the arm re-configures like a transformer. And the animations for the different fighting styles could easily be incorporated for new attack powers and fx. Even the weapon list to choose from could be expanded with Paragon's...so many cool looking weapons! Not to much body parts from the robots and cyborgs and non-humans.
Obviously even if MWM takes EVERYTHING that is free and open, probably 0% of it would be in the game at release, and that's is more than ok. I figure they'll be able to hire more people after release due to the influx in cash, people who can work on a patch/expansion solely for these Paragon assets and really bring in expanded quality content. I'm expecting the 'menu' at release to be maybe 10%-20% of the total 'menu' CoT will offer after 2-3 years after release.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
