Egyptian Costume pieces?

Will there be a lot of Egyptian costume pieces at launch? I want to make an Egyptian motif melee character who wields a Khopesh in each hand.

I have no idea if there will be any Egyptian themed costume pieces available at launch or not. But if you want such things I'd suggest you mention that in the current Costume Request thread. I'm actually fairly sure Egyptian styled clothing has already been suggested but it's always possible the more people who mention it the more likely the Devs will prioritize it. :)

If you look very closely in

If you look very closely in the Cape Chasers and Kickstarter Updates about Scorpion, you will see that they are an Ancient Egyptian themed group. So I would think the chance of having Ancient Egyptian themed costumes is pretty high.

I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

That was good info Huck. If

That was good info Huck. If the CoT Devs manage to live up to what they've told us about many (all?) NPC costume items being available to be used by players then shadryx might get lucky.

To be honest I wouldn't mind if certain unique costume items (worn by unique boss NPCs) remained unavailable to PCs. The idea of certain boss NPCs being able to be "special" by having one-of-a-kind items doesn't bother me at all. But I'm hoping that pretty much anything that a low-level "rank and file" NPC could wear would also eventually be available to PCs one way or another.

Costume requests of course, though I think it would not be too hard for the developers to come up with egyptian themed costume pieces and weapons
.
I strongly doubt that they would come up with historically accurate egyptian costumes though. The peanut gallery might like that very much, but the PG rating would curl up and die :)

Huck pointed out that yes,

Huck pointed out that yes, there will be Egyptian themed costume pieces due to their necessity for villain groups. (Yes, plural, we have over 50 groups developed for the first two years of updates and more than one has ties to northern African cultures)

'Authentic' Egyptian costumes

'Authentic' Egyptian costumes can be made legal through the use of bikinis.

I'm thinking "bandos" (term i learned the other day) might be a better pic :p There's also the good ole "oops we forgot about nipples" option.

There's always been the running joke about "cultural nudity" being acceptable when it came to things like National Geographic magazine. I wonder if MWM could get away with some "artfully tasteful suggestiveness" when it comes to providing accurate depictions of cultural/historical based clothing?

Obviously the answer is likely going to be "NO" but it still might be useful to discuss where the limitations might ultimately lie for this game. For example a few hundred years ago it was popular for European men to wear codpieces that (by today's standards) would likely be considered very rude despite there being no overt nudity involved. Would something like that ever exist in CoT?

Dunno if I'd call codpieces

Dunno if I'd call codpieces rude, so much as obscene. Ultimately I fall on "sure" for codpieces :p

To be clear I'm not talking about those pathetic things a certain "dynamic duo" wore in 1990's era superhero movies. I'm talking about the historically laughable versions of these things like the following:

Let's just say if the Devs allowed something like these in CoT I'd be amazed. While things like this might have been perfectly acceptable to wear in public 400 years ago you usually wouldn't see stuff like this outside of a bondage dungeon today. ;)

Well I knew that there were the "over sized groin protection" kind but these ones, jeez what were they thinking.

As long as there is just a normal bulge kinda thing then I don't think anyone would have much problem with it (as long as they don't get too big) but these ones would certainly cause some concern.
