Will have to check.
What we've done is load up Google's Noto unicode symbols and wingdings packages into the engine. That gave us a ton of symbols right off the bat. The maple leaf is indeed one of them.

By doing that, do you get the various levels of boldness and thinness too? Or is it just the standard pack?

Will logo's be moveable over various parts of the body (a la WWE Wrestling Game Character Customization)? Move up to head, on top of head, over knee, add multiple logos? Or static placement, only over the chest, on the back or on the forehead (a la Champions Online)

That sounds like an elegant solution. And with textures and colors, all those symbols can become many times more.
