At this point we have gone over about every costume, weapon, animation option but we haven't really delved into costume textures. There are countless types of textures that can transform a simple/plain costume.
So what types of textures would you like to see be available?

'Dragon' scales, Feathers, Nap/Fuzz/Velvet/Suede, Herringbone, Houndstooth (very fine checkerboard), Rust/Corrosion/Stain...
Some of these patterns would look great if they could be scaled, or came in different sizes, coarse/fine, because sometimes you want very fine/small feathers and sometimes you want great big ones.
A 'Matte' finish, as opposed to a shiny 'Polished' one, not that 'Polished' isn't nice, too!
Cloth textures from 'Burlap' to 'Silk'.
'Marbled'.
Iridescent/Oiled.
Faceted stone, Pumice/Volcanic stone, Brick, smooth and rough concrete bould probably fall under Polished/Matte, but might call for a more detailed surface.

Iridescent would be pretty crazy, this would work pretty well with characters going for a "Mirage" vibe.
I don't know if Slime would be the right word, but it would be pretty cool to make a blob character and make the outfit look like slime. Essentially Muk/Grimer or the Seaweed monster from scooby doo

Some kind of shifting mass would look cool. Or a texture that looks like it ripples on occasion.

This is why I liked the iridescent Hammer pants from CoH. I used it on an Ice Tanker to give the ice theme a flowing look. And again in rainbow pattern on muscle brained frat guy character.

That would be a fine option. I'm not sure where but this idea has been discussed. Including suggestions for damage decals and or texture changes during fights. Also using the undamaged to damaged textures for costume changes etc. Regardless, I'm for this as a specific costuming option vs decals/damage. Seems easier to implement at first glance and offers options for less than perfect characters.
I'm also curious what a Bad Metal Hair Day would look like... :-)

I would think that damages would be a scar-like applique that you can move all over the place like a logo or a tattoo. And if not, they should be.

To what i remember, it will be technically to difficult to have damages on the armor, the face, etc since it means reloading the character each time needed. But, a dev would probably answer better than i :)

Yeah, I think the general idea would be that they could give you the tools to make a battle damaged look for a costume which then you could use one of your costume slots for. Then you'd switch costumes and boom battle damaged.
Mostly because coding battle damage onto a character that can be anything from a robot to a slime person is really freeking hard. No one wants a bleeding robot. (Statistically someone will though)

Not many texture options come to mind, especially since a lot have already been named off already. But if I had to say one (or two), it would be a Satin/Silk material. Primarily because this is a material that looks visually appealing in real life, especially under certain lighting conditions so I think these texture options would be excellent inclusions into CoT.

I mentioned 'faceted' stone, thinking of obsidian, but it might work for diamond, as well. This brings up the notion of scale, again, since the facets on a diamond are much smaller than they might be on obsidian. You would want your glitter/gleam effect to scale with the facets, as well.

As far as this thread goes I don't have any unique ideas for any textures that haven't been suggested already but there are plenty of existing [url=http://liquidvinylclothing.com/fabrics/]"spandexy-like" textures[/url] worth highlighting, as well as the obvious hope for shiny PVC and latex options.
