Yeah just a little feedback; new look is VERY good. Has a comic feel to it. Nicely done devs...nicely done.
I wonder how everyone else feels about it

Looks good. Just as FYI the quick suggestion I made here about moving the PM alert from the bottom of the page to the top works great. Thanks.

I do like the mobile forum fix, before quotes would be LONG and would only fit like 5,6 letters before starting a new line. This is no longer an issue.

Yeah, I had moved that up top last weekend in the prototype but couldn't say anything...
Anyway, if you guys see anything I missed, call it out here or PM me. Art is never finished, only abandoned.

I share your sentiment. The new forum has a more professionally tailored look to it and a feel that is appropriate to the subject matter.
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.
Yeah got mobile worked out this morning. I'm pretty happy with it though I haven't figured out how to get it to put "Send Email" and "Send PM" on the same line if there's room.

(Read: hey we finally got off browser defaults, raw unstyled HTML, and themes that conflicted.) Yeah, it's about time. -_-;

Old design was okay :T

Looks good. I did see some problems with quoted text. It may have had something to do with embedded pictures/videos in the quote...one sec.
edit: DT post 460 on the "what we can do: powers thread" the box didn't form around the quote.
Is it possible to give the save/preview buttom a little more pop? Grey on grey at the very bottom of the page. Usually well below the fold.

Hey I don't have to hold my phone sideways anymore!
I like the more comic-book-y font as well.
Nice work Lin.
Spurn all ye kindle.
Indeed, good job on the new paint job. Kudos all around.
Looks great!
"I don't think you understand the gravity of your situation."
I wouldn't normally visit the forums on my phone and when I did, I remembered why. This looks tremendous. That comic book font really hits home. I'm surprised at how responsive the site is for mobile. In general, at least where i roam, it is rare that mobile works this well. Excellent job all around. ????

The mobile experience has gone from practically unusable to good. That's a lot of progress. Good work.
"THE TITANS ARE COMING! THE TITANS ARE COMING!"
Agreed. This makes the mobile experience much more user friendly. Thanks!

Wow, I had no idea so many people visited on mobile. I thought it was just Tannim222 and a couple others...

I'm out and about a lot, with periods of wait time. I check the forums instead of mobile gaming :p

Love the new look. Much more mobile friendly. Kudos MWM.

Typography! Even in the forums! Awesome!
One problem I'm seeing: the menu bar sometimes wraps the Community entry to a second line (Chrome, Windows 10, 3840x2160 HiDPI with 200% scaling in the OS, 100% in the browser. Oh, and my taskbar is docked left, so the browser is not quite full width, if that makes a difference in any @media queries.)
Edit: I think applying
.af-button-small
to the
input type="submit"
elements would make them stand out more. Or maybe changing the
.form-submit
class to match. I tried playing with some ideas in F12, but it messed with the layout a bit.

This is very nice. I use mobile access regularly but whenever the string length was reduced to 2-3 characters for whatever reason I had to give up on that thread. Now I can always stay up to date!
Also nice to login (I start at the "Track" page) and have my name in big yellow letters there :)

I like what I've seen so far of the new look. I clicked around a bit just to see what some of the links looked like, one of which was the blog link that I've not looked at for a while. I...ehh, maybe the link should go away? It looks as if nothing has happened worth blogging about in quite a while, which isn't accurate, but impressions......you know.
Edit: I had a notification of a new message after posting this, but when I went to check there was nothing new there for today. The latest I had was a reply I left early yesterday.

This AND the update about powers? What a rad week this has been!
And yeah, I mostly use mobile for this, so it's a MAJOR improvement to say the least. Thank you so much guys!

Everything seems to be working well on my end. This was a nice update!
This is a really minor picky request, but would it be possible to make this site respect date format settings? Today's one of the few days where it doesn't matter that the day and month are reversed for those of us outside of the US.
Spurn all ye kindle.
This is fantastic. So, so, so much better. Even a lurker could love it. A+
Doesn't make any diff in the media queries; once you're over 1024px wide, you're getting the desktop full monty.
What you're seeing is a known bug in the menu JavaScript code that I haven't killed yet. Yay third-party libraries.
Yeah, the stylesheet setup takes some getting used to. I'll see how your ideas look when I get the chance. Frankly, I haven't done much with styling the form elements yet and need to; everyone's pretty much seeing their browser's default styles for thoise right now. Thanks for the tip, though!

I'm building a dustbin to shove it into.
Maybe it was a PM?

And I thought it was just me who had problems with quoted material dripping down my phone 5-6 letters at a time.
Much improved! Great work!
I don't know if you have good usage information on the website. I can tell you that for the company where I work the majority of the traffic is now mobile. Whether app or web, that's how most customers connect. I suspect that COH mobile traffic may have been low due to the fact it was so unusable. It's like the field of dreams, "If you build it, they will come". Well, you've built it. Or at least fixed it. In fact I think it's safe to say that MWM got the right person for the job.
"THE TITANS ARE COMING! THE TITANS ARE COMING!"
perhaps in the next update you ought to mention the mobile website is "fixed." May get even more traffic, more minds more eyes and more potential volunteers.

It may have been, but I never saw it, and I sure don't know where to find it now.
(insert pithy comment here)
Yeah, it makes sense when I think about it, but it's still initially surprising.
CoH or CoT? I never used the CoH site on mobile so I have no idea what it's like.
Yeah, let's not get carried away. The mobile site still has plenty of glitches involving the breadcrumbs, views, and tables, and we haven't touched that menu glitch.

I'm semi-joking here but CoH almost predated accessing the Internet via mobile. ;)

One request, can you make it so videos fit within the border of the post, I usually have to zoom out to see the entire screen

I REALLY like the new layout here. Very nicely done Dev's. :D Looks much cleaner and just outright better.
There is one thing I'd really like to have added, an indicator of a new post has made in the thread you are commenting on when you reply.
Currently, if a few people were to make a reply right now, as I'm typing this, I won't know about it until I post my reply. What I would like to see is, when I'm done typing and reply, a pop up on the top will appear telling me that a reply was made while I was typing, and not add my reply. At the same time, you'll see the thread update and will see the new posts made. What you had typed would stay put so you wouldn't have to type everything again. It could say something along the lines of: Warning. A reply was made while you were typing. You may wish to modify your reply before posting.
Of course, if you don't wish to modify your post, you can hit post again to replay. :)
Soon as I figure out how. They're iframe objects with defined dimensions, and I haven't messed with those enough to know what styling I can get away with.
An interesting idea, but that would be hacking pretty far into the guts of the forum software. Note that one impediment is that when you hit "preview", the preview page only shows the one post you're replying to and not the whole thread. That code would need some serious overhaul to do this. It's the price we pay for not spending 2-5 dev-years to write our own site: innovative ideas take longer.
