Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

I'm Scared.

This is mostly to the Dev's; I am scared you guys will disappear. By that I mean, I am seeing alot of other kick starter mmo's disappearing and new 'clones' popping up with new promises to take money and then once more disappear. My thoughts and my sentence structure is going to be trash from a long hot day of work and sun @_@, but I mostly just wanted to voice my fear and pray it is a stupid one. I was a huge fan of "Revival" and the promises of a Lovecraft mmo coming out. And as the days went on the dev dearies and stuff kept feeding us enough to be satisfied before ultimately Illfonic just up and left the project. And just yesterday I see kickstarter post about hero mmos that look just like you guys with little differences. Maybe they are just stealing ideas to make a quick buck, and I have never been one to doubt your promises and progress, but with other kick starters leaving their backers either in the dark or not delivering a product closed to promised (the latter being something I don't see being an issue when you guys finish :D) I can't help but be a bit scared. Anyways have a good day any one who made it through my crap-tacular 'paragraph'.

Have a nice day!

It would be a kick in the gut

It would be a kick in the gut indeed. However...

While I am not a Dev and I didn't even get to contribute to the Kickstarter (was just barely too late for the party), I've been following all of the CoH successor projects closely and educating myself on the industry in general. From what I've learned, I have to say that, while quite frankly the odds are not good in general for indie studio MMORPG efforts, Missing Worlds Media and City of Titans show a lot of signs that they are not a typical indie MMORPG studio or effort.

In my estimation, for whatever that's worth, while nothing is ever certain and the industry is tough, if any indie effort can MAKE THIS HAPPEN, its Missing Worlds Media.

First off, sorry you missed the party :\ I personally wish I had won the lottery so I could max my pledge (maybe get a contract for not having them take it and run :P). But what you say is what I feel or want to feel deep down. So thanks for sharing and letting me know my thoughts aren't alone!

And I trust you guys and your words. Well if anything it has helped lift my heart a bit, love to hope that a game like city of heroes 'essence' can exist again. A bit off topic a friend of mine wishes to get some information on the game as far as pvp and pve/ and alliances ('hero'/'villain') might work. Any topic links I could share?

One thing to realize is we are a passionate bunch. Many of us have been on the project for years at this point, a few from the very beginning, without pay, just pure dedication. We are wholly invested, I empatically echo am i evil's statement; we aren't going anywhere.

Yeah I did notice that too even before the kickstarter was done you guys were pumping out so much stuff, ideas, structure, and plans. Thanks for replying as well as the other devs!

Have they ever left you out

Have they ever left you out of the loop? Nah, VO and Heroes and Villains? Different story.

I dont think they will leave you, because a culture of communication has been established. Some of those games never had much communication between players and devs to begin with, with the exception of the funding process.

SoH and CoT give the people estimation dates

Nearly weekly updates

If a dev sneezes, they will tell you about it.

They allow you to see the game as it develops. They could, "cough" pop up every so often to tell you soon "Cough" Cough"

They dont have to do it but they do.

KS games do not bother me, but the steam early access are ones you have to watch out for.

The culture has been established here imo.

Hello? Hello? Scared 1 this

Hello? Hello? Scared 1 this is Scared 3 are you Scared Too (2)?

I assume op that since you are here asking the question you wish to subscribe to the optimistic view that great things are on the horizon. I'd say you are in the right place to have that point of view. But, to be honest, not everyone elsewhere holds that same opinion; particularly with regard to CoT's utility of kickstarter resources vis a vis other possible efforts or projects. As far as I can tell, none of us in the cheap seats in the theater really know the state of things behind the stage curtain. Or even if there will be a performance as scheduled or what the quality of that performance will be. You are welcome to try and read the tea leaves along with the rest of us on the outside (or if you have special skills MWM requires you can even join the inside). But I should warn you in advance, if you are like me, you may find as many indicators that CoT is headed in one direction as it is in another. IMHO, this is all a noble experiment in a player run, volunteer business. I still have a hard time typing "volunteer" and "business" in the same sentence but that's the nature of the beast. You are welcome to climb aboard the tiger and enjoy the ride... or just wait it out...it's up to you.

Even if they "disappeared"

Even if they "disappeared" there are many more that will fill in. Lothic seems to know a lot about programming. Lothic, if you're wondering I'm not being sarcastic. I work on the development team for the number one app in our industry. I'm not a developer, but I can handle all kinds of infrastructure and build automation. Lin Chiao Feng is an excellent example of a knowledgeable supporter that recently went dev. BTW, congratulations Lin. I've been meaning to message you. Izzy seems to have significant programming experience, and there are many others like Red and Huck that I'm confident have the intellect and desire to learn to code if needed. No offense if you guys already code.

And if MWM falls apart altogether, I think many of us would form yet another group, find a way to acquire the code, IP, and assets to date, and keep moving the project forward. We're heroes. That's what we do.

If they fail at this point, they only have themselves to blame. If they need capable hands to make this work, we should have heard more from them by now, especially with a semi-firm release date in place.

Easy easy people we're not

Easy easy people we're not putting them under fire here. I think they hand things out when they are sure of how stable it is. I just had a moment of doubt due to other KS i funded being garbage or non-existent. I think CoT is fine. I just wish for more non-lore updates unless its on a villain group structure with pics and junk.

Even when someone was working on the project leaves they don't stay away. Well, at least in my case. I was working on things way back when it first started as Plan Z but had to stop due to life getting in the way. However I never stopped keeping tracks and following.

Izzy actually almost joined up once but then he switched jobs, had to devote time to RL. He's got a standing offer, I believe, but it's based on his ability to have spare time.

At least we now have some good news related to both Joss Whedon and the world of superheroes in that Joss managed to talk himself into doing a Batgirl movie.

There are already people complaining that there should be a female director/writer involved with a female superhero movie but honestly I can't really think of a better "generic human being" than Joss to do such a movie with that kind of character. If there's anyone who's proven he can make great superheroine-type movies/TV it's him.

If Joss has complete control over it, it will exceed your expectations.

I may be mistaken, but I believe it was a lack of direct control that caused him to leave the Wonder Woman movie way back when.

Once upon a time, before City

This should help with the missed references:

Once upon a time, before City of Heroes, there was a television series called Josh Whedon's Firefly. It had interesting characters, a background with lots of potential, and great stories. What it didn't have was the support of the network, and it was aired out of order and shifted around the schedule... It was canceled before they finished airing the whole season.

Fans were outraged. They formed clubs and circulated petitions and bought the DVD collection, and a few years later Josh Whedon made a sequel movie, Serenity. And the fans... I'm getting that "spoilers" look from Doc Tyche again, so I'll just say that both the series and the movie are well worth watching.

*chuckle* Strangely enough,

*chuckle* Strangely enough, the older I get and the more experience points I accumulate in various Corporate Agent core and prestige classes, the more confidence I have that the MWM team will pull it off, with the help of the community.

Our help WILL be needed as we get closer to launch and the commercial marketing plan really gets underway. We will need to re-generate enthusiasm and call the old fanbase back together. "Hey! Come on! They're getting the band back together!" The core team can't do everything alone, but there is a community kind of commitment here that is more than just a business.

That's my two cents, anyway. (adjust for inflation and the irrational exuberance of the "too big to fail" market, and so on...)
