I forgot you can't have "love" in the title
Every incarnation of Paladin has had the power to stay awake forever and never need to rest.
that doesn't work in most games because it would translate to 0 endurance cost for everything
but dang it that's who he is.
I'd also like a power that could pause and rewind time.
impossible in an mmo, and annoying in a pen and paper game but really cool in TV and movies.

they build you up just to knock you down
Lay your hands on me
While I'm bleeding dry
Break on through blue skies
And take it high
Elasticity was a step too far for previous games. Now, I dunno but my guess is it's still beyond the engine
I think elasticity could work but it's one of those cases where the best has jumped up and down on the good and peed all over it's corpse.
They could do it, but they couldn't make it good enough to satisfy themselves so they're not going to do it at all.

That was pretty freeking awesome.
Thanks Red.
I love watching videos made in games.
But I don't see why we couldn't have an Dance attack.
Dungeons & Dragons has 2 of them. one that effects a single target and another that effects a large area.

Still find this idea appealing. Basic premise, the heroic act of taking a bullet for someone.

They had that in the first Sakura Wars. You had to specify which other character you were covering, and could do it 8 times per combat. And you only took part damage. Way overpowered then. Later games knocked it down to 3 per combat and made it split the damage.

A few of these suggestions are very possible.
We can probably start with the assumption that anything possible in current games will be possible in a game to be.
1. Dance Gun.
- There are several powers in Champions Online that functionally cause a temporary paralysis or hold on the victim while forcing that victim into a specific emote. The camera bots that are part of the Foxbat fanboy villain group can hit their targets with an attack that causes the target to stop and pose for the camera, flexing muscles and whatnot. Lots of my toons that have failed to block that specific attack have been forced to pose. There's an insect swarm power available to player characters that one of my toons has that causes victims to manically swat away at the swarm of insects animated around the target for a few seconds. In addition to whatever other effects it has, it functionally holds the target for a few seconds. There's no reason why similar powers couldn't be created in CoT, linked to specific emotes, like dance emotes, for example.
2. The power to turn your target into a toad.
- Again, there is a power in Champions Online, one of the basic gadget gun powers, that has a certain percent chance to turn their targets temporarily into little toys. It always does damage, but on a rare occasion, the target turns into a toy, which I believe is a purely cosmetic effect, because they can continue to fight and all their powers are the same, but they just look like a teddy bear or a nutcracker. I have a toon with the power and I've turned loads of NPC villains into toys temporarily, and I have also had it happen in reverse when fighting foes with the same power. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't also work in PvP. Perhaps a toad-transformation power could work similar to this, either purely cosmetic, or combined with other effects. The idea even reminds me of the shrink ray gun in the old Duke Nukem game. You could continue to play while shrunk.

the ability to split into multiple copies of ones self...like Duplicate Girl or Madrox. although it could be done though...and would lend itself wonderfully to a MM type set.

Someone has been playing too much Scout in Team Fortress 2.
In all seriousness though I am trying to imagine a villain capable of telekinetically controlling butcher knives in a certain range. Wait....on second thought if the city block contained a lot of butcher knives then that would actually be a very scary power if said villain had a sadistic torture quirk.....

"Master of the Flying Guillotine" is a Superb movie! (...of it's type.) I especially enjoyed the myriad fighting styles showcased in the tournament. Really, this movie is worth a bowl of popcorn. Feel free to hoot at some of the freaky special effects.

Fireheart
You should do something about that.

I have an NPC in a tabletop game named Chorus. Her main power is the ability to create spontaneous song-and-dance routines.
And if grouped, multiple copies of the group members. They may not like it, so it could be the mm's body with a clone of the outfit and poers only.
Gimped down quite a bit, but an idea. This would work better than a clone of yourself which would be gimped as far as their own superpowers go compared to almost anything else.

The very existence of the taunting tank irritates, for it requires idiotic AI that obeys the taunt.
Way back before most of you were born, in early EverQuest, life was much harder. And on their PvP server, it was even worse.
So when you died, you lost some experience points, and could even lose a level. But you wouldn't lose new powers from that level.
Well, the level grind was miserable and designed to take a year How terrible to lose hours of work dying at higher levels.
One guy though was king of all griefers on the PvP server. So he took his level 50, the max then, and killed him all the way back down to 20. Yet he maintained his powers. So he was like a god in the lowbie areas, with higher powers, even if scaled back some.
You can't do that anymore.
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.
I was going to say "Psychological romance" but I still don't know what that term even means. I'm guessing it was why Cameo wore the red leather cup on the outside of his pants. Maybe we could ask Levar Burton...

A Rogue-type: takes powers and incapacitates the victim. This is impossible to balance in a game, and, especially if you keep powers for a significant time, that'd be ridiculously overpowered.
