People will be playing and seeing what is available...But this is a visual forum. How long do you think it will take before the first declared contest.

I've been hoping for a Atlas Plaza type map and chat server available to players for the costume creator when it comes out.

I've no doubts that there'll be a low-level plaza area people gravitate to, and give the game CoT is succeeding, I've no doubt people will gravitate to making great costumes. I was never the sort to spend hours in a costume maker and I'm already having ideas for a kickass mage robe.
An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".
Cyclops, it would be unethical to both make a bet on when the contest will be and be the one to host said contest.

Also sounds like you missed my point of an atlas Plaza type zone. I suggested it a long time ago to have such a Plaza that people can zone into with the costume creator when it comes out. The costume creator is the first part of the game that will come out and by having such a small zone for people to interact with and converse with, it'll open up the awesomeness of the creator.
just the creator and saving costumes is cool but I would like to load in and walk around and chat with other players even if there are no contacts or enemies.
