E3 2016 just happened. What are the chances that there will be a MWM/City of Titans presence at any cons in calendar year 2017?

The following is to be taken with heaping bowls of salt as it is based on a conversation I had with our PL a while back. Based on that conversation, there will be no plans for conventions until we have a solid build (most likely our closed beta) with a definitive target launch date available in order to generate interest and get new prospective players to sign up for any possile pre-purchase. And that's just the game build. There are other considerations for preparing for cons.
We have to put in a request for space at the con in sufficient time. Travel expenses (for people driving / flying and a place to stay) to man the booth. Shipment of equipment. Purchasing of said equipment such as: marketing materials including booth decor, hand outs / swag, PCs for players to try out playing. This means we would need to have funds available to cover all of this and a way of figuring out of the return of investment is worth the hassle.
There is a very real possiblity that we could not have a presence at cons in the near future even if we want to. There is a whole lot that has to fall into place before we start considering cons.

Okay, so not holding my breath, and not planning on going to E3 or Gencon 2017 for now. Thanks for the info.

How unsavory is the idea of fanmade decor and such, even lended tech?

I am going to my first San Diego Comic Con this year.
I'll wear my t-shirt.
"I don't think you understand the gravity of your situation."
I'll be there on that Sunday, likewise wearing my Fly Free t-shirt. ^_^

I was only able to get a ticket for Thursday but we'll meet, eventually, in game!

MWM may give a panel at next year's Norwescon, which is a general-purpose SF convention, but it would not be much of a presence beyond the panel. There have been two prior MWM panels at previous Norwescons. This is primarily because several MWMers (including myself and DrTyche, who lead both panels) are either on convention staff or live nearby. It largely depends on schedule (MWM did not give such a panel this year due to schedule issues, and it's difficult to predict how likely it is to happen next year).
