Sergeant Stein was attached to the OSS during the Big War, which was where he first met "Fraulein Dammerung". After the war, he went home to Massachusetts, worked for about twenty years in an office, until cancer killed him in 1967. If the place where Stein's body is supposed to be buried is located, the stone has a Star of David on it.

Odd, SSGT Stein tried to keep a lower profile than that, back when. Now though, after almost seven times seven years of war games in Fólkvangr, plus whatever his powers turn out to be... That might be a better fit, now. ^_^

No problem Xselcier Musings help spur ideas. I haven't thought about the Vril being involved with the Graveyard Shift, but given how Hitler researched the occult and the very name of Vril comes from that research it makes sense that they would still dabble in the dark arts. That would also be a constant threat instead of the group of the week problem. Heck can even have a head Occultist of the Vril to be our big bad like Deathstroke to Arrow or Teen Titans (the GOOD cartoon). So yeah the whole commando thing can fit nicely.
