Nathan

Today it’s time to do something that, frankly, none of us here at Missing Worlds Media have really wanted to do. Today it is our sad duty to say goodbye to a friend.

On July 24th our friend Nathan Purkiss, better known to the City of Titans community as Red Warlock, passed away from cancer. He had been battling the disease for some time and, like a true Hero, fought until the very end.

Why have we waited for so long? Most importantly out of respect for his family and loved ones, to give them the time they needed. Also, we needed some time to process the shock and loss we felt.

How do you say farewell to someone who meant so much? Perhaps it’s best to begin with the words of his husband.

Hello Facebook friends. This is Moises, Nathan's husband. It is hard to speak on behalf of someone else but here it is.
After a long arduous time of fighting, Nathan passed away to cancer. He fought hard and he fought diplomatically. As in, he kept his signature grace and brightness through it all, despite confusion and chaos.
He was surrounded by family throughout the entire time and his passing was peaceful and without pain. My enduring gratitude to Bart and Ron during this time for providing love and guidance during a most difficult time.
Nathan asked that his page be kept open and public for people to express their emotions or feelings about him and YOUR time together, in this space.
Nathan loves like no other being that I know and I am confident that he is beaming his light (per usual) on all of us - especially on the dancefloor. Tonight, Nathan dances amongst the stars and flits along the nebulas.
Nathan's love knows no bounds and his grace remains beyond measure.

Even in our current world, it still feels strange to call someone you’ve never met, friend. But that’s exactly what Nathan was. Ever since he joined the project as a volunteer he was a joy to work with. He had a grace and an optimism that inspired others; and his dedication was incredible, teaching himself the skills to build not just small things, but an entire city.

He was our primary City Designer and Builder. Taking cues from our development team and the ideas of community members, he created the neighborhoods of Titan City. In one way or another, his creative touch is on every building, street, dark alleyway and beautiful landscape. He was also an active member of our PR team, always willing to answer questions, and always happy to talk about the work being done.

He was most excited to have people visit the city he made. He loved watching people exploring and finding the hidden secrets and surprises he had added. He filled the city with the wit and charm and humor we saw in him every day.

He was one of our best. There aren’t enough words to say how much he will be missed.
