History
Over 1000 years ago there lived an Egyptian magus known to others as Abra-melim (or Abra-melin), and he was sought as a master of the Qabalah and the Ancient Egyptian Heka (magic). He taught many, one of whom codified what he had learned for his younger son, and whose writings were later discovered and popularized by their translator S.L. MacGregor Mathers, and eventually taking a place next to the Key of Solomon in importance as a book of magic.

Appearing in the middle of a crowded modern city intersection was a bit of a stunner, even for someone like himself. Only the judicious use of his levitation charm kept him from being run over by any of the fast moving monstrosities he found himself confronted with. He was confused by the world in which he now found himself, and, when he was confronted by a local Super team, he went with them peacefully and told them his story.

He had been the middle son of a merchant, and he found that he still had accounts that were active under his family, leaving him with a higher standard of living than he expected due to the accumulated interest.

He is a bit disturbed that his magic had been corrupted in the books he has read, and has yet to decide if he should correct them. Modern magicians and linguists have approached him about correcting their knowledge of both the magic and languages of his day. His fear is that this new world is about instant gratification and a student would pervert his teachings.

Abramelin is acclimating slowly to the modern world but still has some truly ancient behaviors. Among other things, he is a bit of a misogynist mostly due to when and how he was raised, bit it is his most rapidly diminishing negative quality due to his interactions with modern women. He is still overly protective of women and children, but it is hard to say whether that is a holdover or something that is intrinsic to him.

Overall, he still has a bit of a merchants head, and conducts himself in his modern business as an identifier of magical artifacts, and removing curses. Think haughty English businessman with a sense of humor and an Egyptian accent.

He is curious about this new world and is constantly studying. He has laughed at Verne's who claim that science is superior to magic and has asked them how their camera/view screen technology is different than his scrying bowls and shown them that their science is not any different than his magic in the outcome, merely differing in method.

He does like music and wine, especially classical music and modern wines, but he is careful to never overindulge in either.

Abramelin's is about 6'2" tall with hair that is long and black, brown eyes, and a goatee, giving him a handsome "tall, dark, and mysterious" look that some women seem to like.

He does still, on occasion, wear his garb from 1000+ years ago, but he has updated and prefers to dress well by modern standards.

Suits, particularly those from high-end designers, and tuxedos are his preferred clothing today. He does wear a small domino mask held in place with Spirit gum when asked but prefers not to wear a mask at all, and his mask cam is actually a lapel cam.

He wears his crest as a lapel pin, the aforementioned lapel cam is hidden in it and enchanted to also register magic, mentalism, and spiritual activity so it can record video and audio, including of supernatural phenomenon. It is also enchanted to be virtually unbreakable.
