I know this is really early to be asking this, but one of the things that got me really excited about CoH updates is the release of new powers, so I was wondering what your goal is to have new abilities released once the game is launched? Assuming that everything you want to have completed by the release date is done, what would be your ideal timeframe for new abilities? One new set every 6 months? or???
For reference COH new power releases:

With how they plan to do powers in CoT, wouldn't the release just be new/updated effects, more so than actual powers?
Like Time Manipulation. Wouldn't that be about animations more than anything else? Though, that said, I can imagine people wanting different animations for such a power set. Some maybe want flashing light style animations, while some may want watches and clocks popping up, or what have you.
Yeah, I guess you are right. Maybe because of the way they are doing it, it would be quicker to release "new powers" since its not a specific set with one style of animation/effect/color like in COH. This may be a good thing in that case.

We are launching with 5 Primary Sets per AT.. There is also an AT not included at launch, the Commander AT with Pet sets. There are also entire Secondary Set types such as Assault, our Offensive Defensive Manipulation sets.
Even with all these, we have plans for many more power sets for Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary.

We switched the names based on forum feedback.

Please check the names on the forum categories and the archetypes page, and tell me if they're right or wrong. I just fixed an inconsistency there a couple hours ago.

There is probably still plenty of room to include power sets with different types of mechanics/effects, or combinations of such. To borrow from CoH - while Empathy and Force Field are pretty focused in scope, Time Manipulation and Storm Control feature very diverse mechanics.
Once upon a time one of the CoT devs mentioned that they have plans for having "over 40 zones, 50 levels, 18 archetypes, over 60 powersets". Assuming that info still holds, and the more recent update is accurate, they have 25 powersets listed so far - and that's not including the primary sets for the Commander, nor the Assault and Manupulation secondary sets. I would imagine the devs have plenty of ideas for future combinations of powers and effects.
Edit:
There you go. ;^p
