I had an idea for a jaguar themed street hero not unlike Spiderman, but was debating on his origin being magical, and part of a boon or bloodline, or due to an accident like at an Eden Tech labratory.
I'm also wondering what I could use like a sort of device or unique gimmick or component of the character's arsenal in line with the jaguar theme, or unique ability-like Spidey's Spider Sense and webshooters.

Possible powers: claws, stealth, speed, senses...
Magic v. Tech is largely a matter of taste, IMHO.

Why not every origin?
Nazarine Ghoul is the inheritor of a shadowy empire and even darker powers. Well schooled in martial arts and technology, he compliments his innate abilities with tactics and gadgets of his own making until he learns the source of his power, an ancient malicious beast from another world bound by ancient sorcieries! When he attempts to break his inherited pact with the being, it attempts to strip him of his powers, but because of the long exposure to the magic over many generations, his family has mutated to harness it independent of the will of the beast.
Then a radioactive meteorite hits him in the shin also giving him powers.
This is only half-silly. It's perfectly valid to mix and match power origins to fit your character concept. The main character I'm planning on is a mutant who learned magical arts to help use his powers better. Another is a double amputee that uses disciplined training to make the most of her advanced prosthetics.
