Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster.
The reason I post today is to express something I think is very important in the development of this game!
That something is the teaming aspect of the game.
I think CoH did a great job in that you could easily see who is and isn't on a team, who's LFT, etc..
I also liked the LFT chat..
There was nothing better than a good team working through missions together!
It's one of the reasons I loved CoH so much and I know I'm not alone on that!
What are some things that you liked/disliked of CoH teaming?
What should come over from CoH and what should change?
Does anybody have ideas on how to make it even better?
Let's get some ideas rollin!

Teamwork!
For me two things grew out of teaming: Camaraderie and the idea that there was no one way to do anything. The former is pretty self-explanatory...I don't get out much and so I develop friends on-line. I like playing with people I can get to know and trust.
The second...well this was the best part of the game IMHO. Typical big bad boss-type dude. How do we defeat him? Well there's the old 'Tank and damage' thing, 'Debuffing and damage', Buffing the team', 'out-lasting him, alpha-striking him to death or some combination. Early on I remember seeing cries in the chat of 'Taking down X and we need a Rad for debuffs'. As the game progressed it became 'Taking down X need debuffs' and finally it was 'Taking down X who wants in?' The game evolved from needing a specific set of power to needing a broad class of power to needing 7-8 people to just show up.
Looking forward to doing that again.

+1, and teaming felt so... casual.
In playing other games after CoH, I've been a bit dismayed at what a big damn deal teaming always has to be. It isn't nearly as easy in other games I've played to join in on anything running at any point and just jump in and start contributing and having fun.
I mean, it's great to have some challenges where you just have to know what you're doing and have to build a team right, but I personally wouldn't want all, or even most, teaming to be like that.
I'm up for that once in a while for a change, but mostly I want to RELAX and play a game, not get more stressed out than I did at work that day.
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
Best time ever teaming. I was in the Old Galaxy City picking up some badges when I saw someone calling for help on the chat. A new player just starting off. That another thing CoH done somehow, We Enjoyed having Newbies on our teams. Anyway so being the level 50 hero that I am I went and helped him out, formed a larger team with other lower level players some also new to the game. Had a blast talking them through that starting jitters, seeing them get a thrill out of leveling up.
Well all things come to an end, that when the Newbie from the start noticed I was level 50. "Don't you get no rewards for all that" me "Nope not really, but it was FUN, and that the point if a Game isn't fun why play it? Welcome to the City of Heroes."
The combo of Super Sidekicking, ease of teaming, and little to no real Death penalties. The CoH culture evolved into laughing at our foolishness of getting a team wipe, we dust us selves off at the Hospital grab inspirations and do it all again. Sometimes more than once really it's true for us "Heroes never give up, and Villains never surrender."

2.) If it goes as planned it's not good RP

and another couple thousand +1's
I rarely ignored anyone except via the old fashioned way of just not paying them any attention, but way way back shortly after earning my first level 50 I was bopping around Atlas Park on my new PB when I got a team invite. I accepted, then got the Recall Friend that popped up. And got to 'meet' one of the few bad apples that exist everywhere in life and found myself teleported to thin air way above the ground of AP. I promptly plummeted to the ground and was finished quickly by the relative high level mobs beneath my entry point and booted from the team. Shrugging, I proceeded about my business annoyed but *shrug* whatever. While debating whether to bother trying to file a petition etc. I noted the Broadcast chat. While he hadn't bothered me particularly (I was half amused by the fact he had dropped a level 6 Peacebringer, a natural flyer, from altitude ... I just hadn't been quick enough to shift into Nova) I was noting I wasn't the only one he had tricked and killed. That chat and that he was doing it to new players, impacting their fun, is what pushed my annoyance to righteous anger and he's getting petitioned right now (and wondering why I had even hesitated to petition). He wasn't guilty of just killing and assaulting a few characters and their players, he was attacking that wondrously helpful community spirit and that was not going to be tolerated.
One thing we need to remember though is that CoH didn't start out as the perfect vehicle for teaming. CoT will be good but we all have to realize that there will be growing pains. One of the drawbacks of being CoH's successor is the high level of expectation at launch. Former CoH players will be happy to have a solid superhero MMO back but they will also be very demanding. We have to remember that CoT will need some honeymoon time after launch and not be overly harsh.

Even though I didn't feel competent to lead most iTrials, I still enjoyed the heck out of them and would fill in the newbies on the finer points as we went along. Like explaining WHY we don;t attack Anti-Matter in the early parts of the Keyes Trial, etc. One time I remember talking a to fairly new person in Dark Astoria A (the new DA, after the revamp) and we got talking about Catalysts. I informed him I was waiting until I had 6 of them before using the first one and he was like "Why do that, when you already have the IOs that you're catalysing now?" which led to a discussion on the intricacies of set bonuses and how they worked. That was an eye-opener for that kid. I felt like an actual hero at that point.
